37. Draw the line
it's happening again, those memories start to flooding back, how she deals with unnecessary news, people tracking back her past, play hide and seek almost every day.
Confirmation that only comes from one side, story writing using a statement that she never shares. it was years of hell, but Thank God she survives without her pictures taken.
She's lucky having DJ around her, she's lucky some of her clients still trust and have faith in her, she became stronger but it does not mean those memories never haunt her back, it took months for her to come forward about it to Dave, she hesitated but after all, he is the only family she has.
Dave comforts her, let her take her pace and time, he is very understanding, he even saying it's ok that no one knows their relationship as they are siblings no matter what others said, still Dave was worried about her seeing the condition she's been after admitting their relationship in the restaurant at that time.
Dave only able to calm down after receiving a call from DJ that Gea is sleeping, she gave her a sleeping pill prescribed by her doctor, the doctor asks her to have at least one week off from her daily activities.
Dave keep telling himself that Gea is okay, she is a grown-up woman, she's the best in her field so he needs to have faith in her. She just needs time.
Dave contemplation is he doing the right thing or not, but Gea deserve to be happy, David is a responsible man. Dave knows it for sure... he never leaves anything unsolved, he loves his family very much especially his mother, that kind of man won't treat wrong a woman they care. He needs to have conversations soon with him. Dave goes to sleep with the determination to have a meeting with David as soon as possible.
DJ make a warm bath, helping Gea to soak her body that still trembling in the bathtub. Looking at Gea DJ almost sob, this Taft woman is fragile inside, she does a lot in helping others but it seems her wound not fully cured.
David already captures her heart if not why it is a problem if the media found out about their relationship, coz she knew she's already fallen. She can not say that they have no feeling for each other coz it's gonna hurt him. If they end up in the relationship the memory of being in the spotlight still haunted her. DJ could only hope David could stand beside her no matter what and help her to believe in a relationship again.
Gea still lost in her thoughts, she knew she was moved to another car, she could feel the warm water that DJ prepared for her. She was looking for her voice to thank her once again but nothing could come out as the memories keep flooding right after the message that trying to confirm her relationship with David. All her strength and voices transformed into making her body shivering.
DJ help her to her bedroom, put her on her bed, cover her with a blanket, Gea mind started to relax as she feels the warm bedsheets, Her foggy mind start to clearer than before, hmm it seems they gave me sleeping pill as she feels lighter, he eyes turn heavy soon after she fell asleep like a baby.
DJ voices in the phone rearranged her entire week schedule heard the moment she wakes up. Gea tried to understand everything that happened yesterday. She took a deep breath sitting on her bed holding both her leg and put her face on the knee, she tried to have conversations with herself.
She needs to figure out how to deal with all of this and found a solution for it.
The best way to deal right now is to make a distance with David, she won't be able to think clearly if she's not doing that, it hurts her but what that needs to be done have to be done.
She can promise anything or give hopes to David, it's a good thing that the issue raised right now when their relationship has not started yet... She trying to convince her heart that keeps yelling back at her. Her mind keeps calculating every scenario that could happen or repeat it while her heart keeps saying to give it a try.
Experience during those months still frightening her, every part of her body still remember the pain that occurs for putting her heart above others, her happiness during those moments with Chris was shattered by one news, her world and will crumbling after confirming the source of the news none other than Chris Himself.
Her trust has been stepped on by the man she adored, using her love for personal gained. She just one of his pawn for his success.
She believes David won't do the same thing, but she can not guarantee that... David may hurt her later. The Ideas David may hurt her or even break her heart already put strength in her mind to not take this relationship further. It still hurts her but compared to the image she might get destroyed later, Gea chooses to be hurt now than through the experience again.
She loses her trust and faith were not in the person, she loses it in love and relationship itself.
She already makes up her mind, it's noon already she gets up and takes a shower. DJ already prepared food on the table, but her is nowhere to be found. She perhaps in the office dealing with documents and another thing. Gea can't thank her enough for always been there for her. She's very lucky to have her around.
Gea checks her phone only to have a pinch in her heart. She knows she might confuse him, and she already makes her mind to not bring her relationship with David further but no text or call to shows his concern after what happened to her last night, still hurts her. She definitely should draw the line.
