Unofficial Council Member

Delilah interrupted the gossip by asking Sarah a question.

"C-can you please call Mr. Ryan here so I can thank him? Please?"

The others also nodded to that.

"Yes, we all need to thank him for saving our dear Deli, the delicious...", Lily smiled creepily while petting Delilah's hair.

'Oh my god, I am trapped between crazy women! Those b*stards left me here to deal with these crazies, aaaah!' Adrian screamed within his mind, while he nodded in agreement on the outside.

Soon Ryan, who was resting on the school rooftop received the familiar ding of a chat message.

[ Sarah: Can you drop by the Student Council room for a bit? ]

[ Ryan: Sure, give me a couple of minutes. ]

'Good, this will make it easier to get familiar with them and be around them without any stupid excuses.'

A few minutes later, in the student council room dwellers heard a knock on their door. However, before anyone could even react Diana had teleported to the door, opening it and immediately attacking Ryan on the door who countered without surprise. The others were flabbergasted.

The school queen, Diana, used her entire arsenal of tactics, teleporting parts of her body from weird angles around Ryan trying to attack him, but he blocked her with without even using his ability, however, as the spar went on he started to get a little surprised, but only a little. He finally countered her moves and suddenly appeared right in front of her face in a bizarre movement and flicked her forehead, which brought the fight to an end.

"Owww, hehehe", Diana let out a shy laugh, which freaked the others out. The stone-faced and always too mature for her age Diana was acting like a small child. They were already shocked by how Ryan beat her like it was nothing, but this was crazier to them.

"You've improved a lot more than I expected.", Ryan said as he smiled.

"Well, did you forget my promise?" Diana asked teasingly.

"Talk about that when you actually defeat me." Ryan flicked her forehead again. "Your reaction speed today was too slow and you were too complacent. Your friend could have died." He said seriously.

Hearing that Diana suddenly became somber. Ryan ignored her and looked at the others.

"Hello, I am Ryan Holmes, please call me Ryan." He spoke with a smile. The others were too shocked to respond for a minute.

"I have been dying to meet you, Ryan. I am Lily." She was the first to respond and did so in a professional manner.

"Likewise, Miss Lily. I did wish to seek the services of a master information broker."

"Ho... you even know that huh, let us exchange contacts."

Similarly, Ryan got to know the other members of the student council.

"T-thank you!" Delilah stuttered out.

"Not a problem miss Delilah, it was my honor to help you out in trouble."

"You!" Diana roared and started attacking Ryan again who brought her down with ease again.

"What happened now?" Ryan asked in an exasperated tone.

"You won't understand.", Diana grumbled angrily as she marched off to the corner.

'You idiot, I understand everything. But our lives are way too far apart and my life is filled with chaos. I can't drag you into it, not to mention I got no time for this.' Ryan thought in his head as he shook his head with a bitter smile.

2 years ago in the Raymond household.

"Ryan you came! I will defeat you today!"

"I came to say goodbye."

"What? You won't train me anymore? Why?"

"..."

"No! What about my promise? I will defeat you and become your girlfriend, you can't stop me like this!"

"Diana, I am a low tier ability user with no potential and you are the cherished child of a legacy family with a once in a generation talent. You know this is not realistic. You will understand the reality of this world when you grow up."

"Don't leave like this."

"When things don't go your way, you have to become strong enough to change the world to bend to your wishes. This is the rule of the strong."

"I will never give up on my promise."

'Aah, I never expected her to still be in her delusional puppy love state even now. Well, as long as it motivates her to become even stronger.' Ryan thought to himself.

Adrian, as always, was the poor King who had to sort through the chaos.

"Ryan, why didn't you compete for a position in the student council, or even for becoming the School King?" Adrian asked.

"I am a low tier ability user, with a low potential. I have no chance against the council members, your electricity or Sarah's ice could instantly defeat me. I have trained my ability to its peak, but, it stands no chance against you folks."

"I somehow doubt that.", Lily smirked.

"I joined the high school for a few tasks, and getting involved with council affairs would be an additional burden I do not wish upon myself, not to mention the chaos that would ensue from a low tier beating elite tiers from legacy families. Attention is the last thing I want.", Ryan offered an alternative explanation.

"So... you are trying to complete some secret mission, amirite?" Lily was trying to be clever.

"Uh... I guess?" Ryan responded noncommittally.

"Ho...mysterious teacher suddenly reappears in the same school for a secret mission...Ho..." Lily winked at Diana who suddenly became beet red.

'M-mission? Maybe he was protecting me all this time?' Thinking thus, another misunderstanding was born within Diana thanks to Lily messing around.

"Either way, thank you for helping us resolve the escalating situation earlier, without your help someone could have gotten seriously injured before we even realized what was going on."

Lily suddenly clapped.

"How about this? Why don't you unofficially join the student council? Such a powerful ally would be helpful if we need help again in the future, plus we could help you with information as well." Lily smiled.

Adrian nodded, while Sarah who had been silent during the conversation had also nodded. It had been her who told Lily to suggest this openly.
