SILENCE

The rest of the dinner was quiet as no one uttered a word. Everyone else's mind was preoccupied with something. All have questions to ask but all of them are too scared to ask them.

Keira had never been a patient girl. She always wanted to find things out and for the first time in her life, she could not get what she wanted.

The theories that she had come up with in her head were doing her no good since she could still not figure out what the answer was. She was now more curious than ever.

Who was she? Who were her parents? She knew that there was a possibility the man was telling the truth. She wanted to know all of it.

Had her mother truly died and if she had why did her father not take care of her? She would have been better off with him than Robin.

She had been miserable her whole childhood and all of a sudden she finds out they were not her parents. Life had a way of twisting someone. She hoped that that was all.

She did not want any more surprises when she had not yet even comprehended the first one. What she did not know was that things were just about to get worse from there.

Her whole world was about to be turned upside down and she had no say in it. She just had to do as she was told. She was about to leave the world where women fought so hard for their opinion to be heard.

As they say, actions have consequences but then some consequences were too much there was no need to do the contrary and have thousands of people suffer because of your actions. She was their sacrificial lamb.

A part of her was relieved but a part of her was also sad. She had been treated poorly growing up her parents even barely there.

She had always thought that they hated her that was why they were never there for her. She had tried to be the good kid and do bad but whatever she did always made things worse.

She tried so hard to be liked but all she always did was piss them off. Now if it was true then maybe they did not hate her she was just not their kid.

Apart from her hoped that it was all a lie. That the old man was just playing games with her and was just messing around. Her whole life had been a complete lie.

The family history that she had been told about. The grandma died who looked like her. She had believed all their lies because she had not thought that they would lie about anything like that.

She wondered who else might have known about it. She had known her nanny since she could even start to walk. She knew something. But why had she not told her anything?

She could not go around blaming people for things that they had no control over. It was not her place to tell her and that was okay with that.

The only people she was pissed at were her parents. They should have said something. She was grown and deserved to know everything about herself.

They had thought that they were protecting her. They did not want her to know what she was, a monster. Then again that was who she was and nothing could change that.

They had dwelled on her kind and forgotten about the fact that she was just a kid. She did not choose her parents and if she could they would have never been her parents.

Maybe they were just protecting themselves from her. They feared that if she knew what she was she would act upon it.

But you could never protect someone forever because someday the truth would come out and they would not see it as protection.

You could never hide something for long it always came out in the long run. The run had been long enough and it was time to stop all the secrecy everyone could handle a little honesty.

He had suspected it for a while. There was just something different about her that he had found a hard time trying to figure out.

Her scent had been so strong the first time that he had net her at that club that he could not stay away from her.

At first, he had thought that he was just horny and he had let it go but it just got stronger. Now he knew what it was and he had committed a mistake having sex with her.

She was not her mate and if everyone found out what they had done it would turn into a bloody battle. She was not his to claim and he had crossed a line there.

He had seen pictures of her mother somewhere around the house and had always wondered who that woman was.

Now as he thought of it they looked so much alike. He had always wanted to ask his father who she was but had refrained from it.

Was she his secret lover or he had always wanted her but could not be with her since she was bit his mate? Was she even a werewolf in the first place?

If she had been there was no way they would have let Ari be raised by human beings. What good had they thought would come out of her being raised by humans?

All he saw was a broken girl who was now more confused than ever about who she was.

Her life had been turned outside down and she did not know who or what she was anymore. He could not imagine how she felt.

Not knowing what to believe and who to trust anymore. The whole of her life had just been a lie. If he could he would tell her everything that she wanted to know but it was not his place to tell.

The silence had been too much and someone had to break it. She looked over at Ending and he seemed to be deep in thought. She looked around the house as she looked keenly at the pictures but if there was something that she did not know to do was keep quiet.

The silence was killing her slowly it felt like they were in a graveyard and anything they uttered could wake up the dead.

Enzo lifted his face and saw her eyes moving around the house. He cleared his throat and started a conversation. Someone had to save them from the boring dinner.

"Uuhhhm dad I thought Hades was going to be here did something come up at work?", he asks his dad.

"Yeah something came up he had to close a certain deal but he said he would be here before we started eating seems like he won't make it today", his father said and the table went silent again.

The roaring of a car approaching all set them in a different mood. It felt like it was something that they had all been waiting for.
