KITTEN

Air hitched in her throat when his arms wrapped around her. She had never felt something like that before. The air around them was tense as none of them dared to utter a word.

He took two big steps and they were already at the top of the stairs. She contemplated if she should tell him where her room was but she figured he already knew since he started walking in the direction of her room.

She is back and relaxed in his hands. They were soft not as she had imagined them to be. They engulfed her small body and she was lost in them. They were warm too and she could feel her body heating up already.

If it was up to her she could stay in his arms forever and turn them to her sleeping place. She sighed as a wave of air hit her nose and inhaled it. It was a mix of fresh air and his cologne.

As she lay on his chest she could now clearly tell what he smelled like. He smelled of a clean aftershave. His cologne was a mixture of pine and peppermint, that was all she could smell and tell what it was.

They had already reached her room and she wondered why the time had gone so fast. She wanted to be held in hid arms a little bit longer but it seemed like the universe had other ideas. She took in one deep breath and inhaled his scent as much as she could.

She snuggled more into him so that she could smell like him. She at least had something to think about when she could not sleep. She expected him to put her down once they reached her door but it seems like he had other plans.

With his foot, he opened the door and she could not tell if she was impressed he could do that or if she was just turned k. by that simple act. How low were her standards, she thought to herself.

A man had only opened a door for her and she acted like he had saved the whole world from dying of hunger. She had to get her act together before she woke up in his bed.

He gently placed her on the bed and started looking around the room. His back was turned to her and she could not stop staring at his back every time he did something.

He was extremely ripped that was one thing she was sure about by just looking at his firm butt. He looked so good in his clothes that she wondered how he would look naked.

She had to stop her mind from thinking about more of the situation. She knew he would never glance at her the way she wanted him to. He had seen multiple girls who looked way better than she and she thought that she did not stand a chance with him.

The thing with looks was that we did not look the same. No one was prettier than another person because they all had different features. There were no possible ways of comparing one's beauty with that of someone she or he did not look like.

He seemed to have been lost as he stared at the pictures on the wall. Had he forgotten that this was her room and not his? As much as she would love to have him stay over she was not going to stoop that low. Not after sleeping with his brother the previous night. Was he even his brother?

They looked nothing alike and she hoped they were not. She was just being delusional though she was just mesmerized by the way he loomed. She was sure it would all be done when she woke up the following morning.

She cleared her throat so that she could tell him to leave the room for her to change.

He turned around to look at her and was met with her clustered face. Her cheeks had turned a deep red and he wondered what she had been thinking about. The strap of her dress was hanging low on her shoulder.

He could not stop his eyes from wandering down. Her collarbone was quite visible and he could tell that she had not been eating much.

It was either she was trying to lose weight or did not want to gain weight. She looked vulnerable, he feared if she even tripped a little she would break a whole lot of bones.

"What is it kitten?", he asks her as he pulls the chair near the dresser and sits down just staring at her.

She felt exposed like he was looking at everything in her as he was staring hard. She feared that maybe if he looked long enough he would notice the things that she hated about herself. Her freckles were the thing she hated most about her face. Why did she have to look like that?

When she was growing up she always prayed and hoped that she would be pretty like the girls she saw in magazines. She played looking at herself in the mirror because she was reminded of how bad she looked.

There were days that she would wake up and feel good about herself but then one look in the mirror would wipe the smile off her face.

" I want to change and sleep would you mind leaving the room ", she says with a small voice.

" I would not mind looking at you while you change you know. I have had a terrible night so far and just that would cheer me up but if you don't want that I won't my d but am not leaving the room until you're asleep so just go to the bathroom and change", he says.

She opened his mouth to objectify but then shut it again. How was she going to tell him that she did not want to change her clothes though? She wanted to call Cherry and tell her all about him.

She did not mind having him stay in his room until she was asleep. She was finding it very hard to sleep with all the night's terror.

She had been prescribed pills to help with the night terrors but she was reluctant to take them. Once you started taking the pills it was like you could not do anything else without them.

You became independent and that was not something that she wanted. She was going to fight the night terrors away but each night they seemed to get worse.

"Do your parents know that you're here", he asks her.

" No, I don't even think they would notice if I died", she says laughing.

So she had a sense of humor, he thought to himself as he smiled and leaned back in his chair.

"Isn't that what all you guys want, parents that do not care what you do or where they are?", he asks her.

" Not really and can we not talk about my parents they are the last people I want to think of right now", she says.

He sat there staring at her not saying a word as she took her phone and started scrolling through it. She looked like she did not need him in the room as she smiled and laughed and forgot that he was there.

"My room is next to yours so in case you need anything call on me, people say they have a hard time sleeping in this room. If it's true you can come to my bed", he says as she stands up and leaves the room.

She opens her mouth to talk but the door had already been shut. The room felt empty again and she fought the urge of going after him so he could come and stay with her in her room.
