HADES

She looked around the table and no one even noticed her. It was like she was invisible all over again. Enzo was on his phone and he looked like he did not want to be disturbed.

She wondered why he had said that they were not together. I mean she had said that too but why would he say that? Was he embarrassed by her?

That was not something that she wanted to think about at the moment when she had more pressing matters to attend to. Enzo's brother had not said his name and she wondered what his name was.

He looked like a Greek god she could name him Hades. It was like he had a magnet to him that was pulling her into him and she could not resist it.

Every time their eyes locked she was lost in them. It was like she was trying to figure him out but his eyes were blank, lonely. He had built a wall around them that not even her could go around it.

His charming smile did wonders to her body that she could not explain. She had dirty thoughts of him every time his lips curved up into a smile.

What was she doing? What had become of her? She asked herself this question over and over again because she could not understand why she was wrapped around his little finger.

For the past one hour, he was all she could think about and the things she wanted to do to that body of his. Every time he looked at her his eyes raked all over her body.

His eyes stared at her bosom. She wanted to know what he was thinking of when he looked at her. Maybe he thought that she was just a child when he looked at her and was stupid to think that he could sexually look at her.

She was sure that he had, had his share of sexual partners. With a body like that and a face like that who would say no to him?

He looked over at her and wondered what was going on in her little mind. She was lost in her world to the point whereby he was sure she did not even remember that there were people in the room with her.

Her face creased like she had remembered something painful from her past. He wanted to reach over the table and wipe that frown from her face. A face like that was only supposed to show happiness, not sorrow.

He felt pity for her. He was not even sure she knew that her future had already been planned out for her. She had duties that she was supposed to fulfill.

How would she react to knowing that he was her mate and they were bound to start a family? did not have an issue with that.

He always knew that this was what was going to happen when he grew up. He had to marry the person who had been chosen for him with no questions asked.

As the next alpha after his father, he had to take these matters seriously. He did not think that it was important to marry for love.

All he needed was a woman with a pretty face and who was respectable. Who had good siring hips and could give him children. She had to be educated too but that was his recommendation. He wanted someone who was able to solve a problem on her own.

She was not ready for all of that though. Her life had just begun and marriage was the last thing in her mind. She had never even thought about getting married before in fact she always hated marriage.

She hated the idea of being bound with someone. It was not like she could not be with just one partner but some things came with a marriage that she was not ready for. In her mind, she thought that she had all the time in the world.

She had to fulfill her dreams first and then think about marriage but it seemed like time was not something that she had. It was going pretty fast.

She played with her hands and looked around every other second. She was getting more anxious every second that passed and he could tell.

From her body language, he knew that she wanted to stand up and go to bed but she could not get herself to do it.

She tried to stand up and leave but her legs could not move. They had abandoned her the moment she needed them most. It's like she had turned me into a toddler again who needed to be taught to take the first step

. He locked eyes with Enzo's dad and smiled politely to throw him off so that he wouldn't have to ask her if she was doing okay. Of course, she was not doing okay, her palms were sweaty like she was a boy who was looking for the courage to ask a girl out.

When in reality she was just figuring out how to stand up and go to her room. She felt pathetic. A big girl like her was scared of men because she did not want them looking at her funny. She wanted to be perfect but today had not been that day for her.

He could tell that she was anxious the way she looked around every two minutes. She looked like she was waiting for someone to appear but no one came. He noticed the way she fidgeted with her dress every time that she was anxious and knew that was something she did all the time and was already used to it. She was bored and wanted to go to sleep but did not know how to go. He figured that maybe she thought it would be disrespectful to his father but he did not care about that. If she sat there waiting for them to finish talking she would be waiting a long time he might as well Dave her the trouble.

"You look like you are trying to figure out something and you've been staring at the clock for a while, might I accompany you to your room in case you forgot where it is?", he asked her.

She looked at her ready to say no but the look he gave her suggested otherwise. It was not a question, it was a command and somehow she found herself nodding and standing up. What had happened to her because she had lost it? She did not take commands from anybody.

There was just something about him maybe it was the dominance that he portrayed that made it hard for her to say no. It was like she was at his mercy and would do anything he asked her to do.

He followed her right behind and took only two steps and had already reached her. The air around them was tense and all she wanted was to rush to get away from him. He made her think about things that she had never thought of before and it was not going so good for her.

She could feel him breathing on the nape of her neck and all her hairs rose like the wind was being blown to them. She did not watch her steps and stumbled but before she hit the ground his hands touched her waist and hoisted her up. In one swift motion, he lifted her off the grounds and was carrying her like she was his bride.

She had thought of the possible ways this weekend would go but being carried to her room by a who looked like he would kill someone by just staring at them had not been one of the things she had thought of.
