I am back.

After 500,000 years in that empty fragment of space. I finally escaped that desolate land. The land from which all fears originate, I escaped the abyss.

I know that this was quite a feat on its own but I can not let my guard down just yet.

I first examined this new body of mine and found out that it was weak. I mean seriously was this body heavily malnutrition or what?

This body felt like a skeleton with a layer of skin over it. There are no muscles or strength in this body. It was frail to the point that even a light breeze could break it.

"sigh"

I let out a sigh lamenting over my new body but I knew that it was better than nothing. Tbh I was hoping to reincarnate as a child but looks like I was over-expecting things to go my way.

"For the time being I think I should be satisfied with this body."

I then closed my eyes and went to sleep. How many years has it been since I felt this drowsy?

"..."

"Okay, now this is a little bit strange."

I or more specifically my body was currently sleeping but...

Why is my mind still active? This was quite strange. It was as if my new body and my mind were not in sync with each other.

"Wait sync? Could it be..."

Thinking about something I reexamined my new body and as I thought.

"So that's how it is? It's not that I am mentally tired. My new body is just physically exhausted. Did this kid even have breakfast this morning or what?"

I was perplexed as to why was my energy level so down, it was when I heard it...

The whispers...

[.....]

Hearing that familiar voice in my head I momentarily froze.

"This...How?"

Although the voice was faint I am sure that's the whispers. I can never forget that voice. After all, it was one of the reasons why I wanted to escape that place.

Yet that same voice I could hear it. Did it follow me back to the real world, How?

It's true that place has many mysteries to it. There are also many supernatural phenomena that cannot be explained by straight and simple logic but...

That place still works under the different sets of rules mentioned in the "De Abyssal Constiuent" or in human words "The constitution of the Abyss"

Similar to humans, The constitution of the Abyss is like the supreme law for all the creatures of the Abyss.

One of the rules that is written in the constitution is, "Abysmo Sepia Origino" which means Abyssal Origin. This is one of the few laws in the Constitution that all creatures of the Abyss must abide by.

Although there are other strict laws. There are ways to bypass them. However, this law is a little bit more strict than any other law.

What it means is that "What belongs to the abyss must stay in the abyss". For a more clear explanation visit the abyssal web (joking).

In other words, what it means is that the creatures of the abyss are not allowed to leave the Abyss. But if that's the case then... How did this thing also come to the real world?

Could it be because of me or... This thing's origin doesn't lie in the abyss. Just like what the name says "Abyssal Origins".

This law only applies to those who are born/ whose origin lies in the abyss.

"This is a serious problem"

I said to myself. It's not that this thing can bring harm to others but, that isn't the case for me. I am in serious trouble now that this thing is also here.

"Tch fine by me."

Despite the unwillingness of my body I urged myself to get up. I felt quite unsteady and wobbly because of how weak my current body was.

I looked around to see if there was anything I could use as support. It was then that I saw one of those rods where they hand saline water. There was also a half-empty bag of saline water.

Furthermore, that saline water was for me. Maybe because my mind wasn't in complete sync with my body I didn't feel the needle in my arm.

"Perfect"

Regardless this was a good thing. I used the rod as support. Good thing that this had wheels it made it much easier to walk.

"Okay, I think the way to the cafeteria should be that way."

I was glad that the memories of the previous owner fused with mine. Although I didn't notice it at first I did notice a piece of new information outside my memory palace.

It looks like my name is Shroud and I was beaten up by some bullies which was the reason why I was in the hospital. Speaking of which why is my name Shroud?

Okay, I am pretty sure that every parent would want their children's name to be something that has a meaning to it but Shroud?

This was quite a weird name for a child but it also didn't look like they just randomly named their children Shroud.

"Hmm, interesting. Maybe the previous owner also had some mysteries surrounding him."

I think I should look into the past of the previous owner of this body but first...

[...]

I need to eat something quick otherwise things might get ugly. The thing I said a while ago about these whispers harming me. Well, the thing is that these whispers actually consume energy at a constant pace.

Simply put it is like a parasite and I am the host that is the source for it to get energy. If in the case I cannot provide it with sufficient energy.

I will go berserk...

After walking for a few more minutes I reached the cafeteria. I was about to order a lot of food but it was then I realized something.

I was an orphan who worked part-time jobs. Furthermore, I was broke. I started to rub my temples feeling distressed about my financial crisis. Curse those people who say money isn't everything.

While this sentence does hold some truth to it. Poverty can't even buy you shit. In the end, I just ordered what I could afford. Tbh the food looked more like dog food.

"You cannot be greedy right now Autumn"

I consoled myself and took a bite and just as I expected it was horrible. This was even worse than those slimy spiders of the abyss.

I then continued eating the food despite its terrible taste. While eating I also found out how incoordinate my body is with my mind.

They were not in sync with each other. I already had an idea as to why this was happening and also had an idea to solve it but...

Should I do that?

To be continued...
