Chapter 1268 Conflict

Ten minutes later, Ross was driving and followed the car controlled by Bucky into a secluded alley. When the car ahead came to a stop, Ross, along with T'Challa and their team, quickly surrounded it. 

Inside, they found Ulysses battered and bruised, slumped in the passenger seat, with two of his henchmen unconscious in the back. As for Bucky, he seemed to have vanished.

"Where are your people? Was it another remote-controlled stunt?" Ross inquired as he began to handcuff the unconscious Ulysses.

"You don't need to know about that. Also, Ulysses is a criminal from our nation of Wakanda, and this time, we should be the ones taking him into custody," T'Challa declared without explaining further, extending a courtesy to Ross. 

No matter how many crimes Ulysses had committed outside Wakanda, stealing vibranium from their nation was grave enough to warrant Wakanda's most severe penalties. Nevertheless, since their operation had collided with the activities of the American CIA, T'Challa was willing to grant Ross some face.

Upon hearing T'Challa's words, Ross hesitated briefly, his expression soured. The CIA had expended significant effort and suffered losses to capture Ulysses. Passing him over to Wakanda would mean bearing the full responsibility for this operation.

"No, we can't let you take him. We've paid a hefty price to apprehend Ulysses, and we need him to provide more information on arms trafficking. We can't let you take him away," Ross stated earnestly after a moment of contemplation.

Just as Ross and T'Challa stood face-to-face in a standoff over Ulysses' custody, the CIA team, previously thrown off by Bucky, also arrived on the scene. This bolstered Ross's confidence further. 

To him, Wakanda might possess remarkable technological prowess, but it couldn't contend directly with the United States, a superpower. Of course, Ross was unaware of Wakanda's true strength.

Observing the CIA team encircling them, T'Challa's expression subtly shifted. It wasn't that T'Challa and his team couldn't escape with Ulysses amidst the surrounded agents; it was more about avoiding an intense conflict with the United States.

After a cursory glance at the surrounding CIA operatives, T'Challa looked back at Ulysses, who was now in Ross's grasp. At this moment, T'Challa was contemplating whether to eliminate Ulysses right then and there. If he acted now, Ross couldn't possibly save Ulysses.

Furthermore, once Ulysses was gone, T'Challa believed that the United States wouldn't take drastic measures against Wakanda. After all, the man would be dead, and there would be no reason to further escalate the situation.

However, just as T'Challa was preparing to make his move, Nakia, standing beside him, patted his shoulder. "There's no need to act now. We also have something to extract from Ulysses. Let them take him away for now; we'll keep a close watch."

Upon hearing Nakia's words, T'Challa contemplated and decided to heed his girlfriend's advice. Ulysses was already captured, and as long as they kept a close eye on the situation, they could choose when to retrieve him later. It was better to extend some courtesy to Ross.

"Ross, you've won this round. Ulysses will be handed over to you. However, you must interrogate him promptly, and we must be present during the interrogation," T'Challa conceded.

"Agreed! No problem!" Relieved that T'Challa had acquiesced, Ross quickly agreed.

Subsequently, Ross handed Ulysses over to the arriving CIA special team. Although they were in South Korea, the United States operations there were as unrestrained as they were on their home turf. Consequently, they swiftly found a location for interrogating Ulysses.

As T'Challa and his team accompanied the American CIA for Ulysses' interrogation, Bucky, who had transformed and left the car once they parked, discreetly followed them. Bucky, after all, was still wanted by SHIELD due to his past as the Winter Soldier. 

Despite his connection to Captain America, Bucky couldn't openly reveal himself to the CIA.

Meanwhile, in the core royal laboratory of Wakanda, Shuri was glued to the screen, closely monitoring Bucky's movements and the data being transmitted back. Eventually, her eyes filled with astonishment.

"Is this the suit you mentioned, not inferior to the Black Panther suit?" The information transmitted by Bucky's mysterious suit made Shuri realize how remarkable the Antman suit's technology was. She was genuinely amazed by its capabilities.

"Yes, this is Bucky's suit, known as the Antman suit. It can change size at will, which provides a significant advantage in stealth and unexpected attacks," Lin Rui calmly explained, noticing Shuri's surprise.

"Change in size? That surely can't be the only thing the suit does! What other technology is at play here? Maintaining mass while shrinking in size, infinite momentum amplification— these properties are beyond the realm of normal physics, aren't they?" Shuri, Wakanda's brightest genius, quickly discerned that the Antman suit likely had additional, extraordinary technologies integrated into it.

"Hehe, I don't know all the details, but my Uncle Bucky is quite formidable. Now, do you believe me?" Lin Rui replied with a smile, not intending to divulge further information.

"You... Fine, if you won't tell me, you won't tell me."

Shuri then refocused her attention on the screen. Real-time reports from the frontline indicated that Ulysses' interrogation was underway. However, when it came to T'Challa's questions about how Ulysses had infiltrated Wakanda and stolen so much vibranium, Ulysses remained tight-lipped, only taunting T'Challa.

Finally, Ross took over the questioning. In terms of interrogation skills, the CIA had the upper hand over T'Challa, who was a king by trade. However, Ulysses was no ordinary individual. 

During the interrogation by Ross, Ulysses revealed the true nature of Wakanda, exposing it for what it was. This drove T'Challa and the others outside the interrogation room to the brink, making them eager to rush in and deal with him.

"Do you think the Wakanda you've seen is the real Wakanda? A mountain of vibranium, a miraculous metal of immeasurable value— they possess it in quantities beyond your imagination!"

"What you're concerned about, my involvement in arms deals is just the tip of the iceberg. If you knew the changes vibranium could bring, you'd be utterly astonished!"

After listening to Ulysses' descriptions of the true Wakanda and vibranium, Ross approached T'Challa and his team with suspicion. While Ross questioned T'Challa, Ulysses' henchmen, including N'Jadaka, had already set up explosives outside the interrogation room.
