Epilogue 4:
“There has to be a better way to give birth!” Nyrissa whined for the millionth time. “This is ridiculous! Stupid!”
Ryan hid a wince when Nyrissa squeezed the life out of his hand again. He was trying hard not to complain about the bones in his hands, but he honestly felt like Nyrissa was attempting to break them. Every five minutes, Ryan looked at the door, trying to see if Quentin would get there so they could switch out. Definitely one of the benefits of having a second husband running around, he thought to himself sardonically.
“It’s going to be okay, Nyrissa,” Ryan crooned, trying to keep her calm. “Our baby will be here soon.”
“What is taking so f*cking long?!” Nyrissa gasped out as another contraction hit her.
