“So let me get this straight.” Sarah arranged the cutleries and dishes on the kitchen island before settling in on her chair looking confused.

“The only reason you came back was for an event?” Sarah bit her bottom lip in embarrassment. To think he actually came to visit her like he had promised.

“Yes, what did you think?” Fredrick giggled, assisting Ethan in serving their dinner. He placed some butter and maple syrup alongside the pancakes before bringing the chicken and waffles to the island.

“Well, she must’ve thought he was here to spend some time with her.” Kirsi grinned, bringing a jar of water and red wine to the table.

“Hey, don’t make it sound that way.” Ethan scolded her with his eyes, before joining in on the table. He knew how haughty Kirsi could be.

“But it’s the truth.” Kirsi nonchalantly replied, ignoring Sarah’s glare.

“You should really learn how to speak to people.” She was so annoyed to keep calm and pretend as if she was not picking her on.
