CHAPTER 5

I threw the ball to the wall again, and once again, I caught it perfectly in one hand, the other hand under my head. A knock came to my door

"Come in" I said and my one and only sister, who was also older came in and sat on my bed

"You are home early, today" she stated

"Yeah"

"Why? You usually stay out with your friends?" she asked

"I know, right?"

"Is something wrong?" she asked

I stopped throwing the ball. I just lied down for a few seconds and then I sat up straight on my bed. I looked at her

"Should I tell you a story?" I asked her

"A story?"

"Uhm"

"Well, go on" she said

"In a place where dogs lived, there was a man. He was called and known as the leader of dogs and thus, he was respected and loved. Even though to him, he was foolishly and blindly loved, and saw that as dumb creatures, he couldn't settle for anything less. Then all of sudden, a dog came and it began to start acting out. What do you think the man should do?" I asked her when I was done

"You're out of your mind" was the first thing she said, before continuing

"Well, the man can just train the dog?"

"Train the dog" I thought aloud

"Yeah, if the dog is properly train, it will known its place and stick to it"

"That's right. Just train the dog" I said smiling

"You can leave" I told her

"You can say that in a more polite manner" she said but, I just signaled for her to leave with my head. With a sign, she got up but she turned before chance

"Just one question" she said

"Ask" I told her

"I'm just asking but, you are not referring to yourself as the man and the rest of humans as the dogs, right?" she asked

"Close the door when you leave" I told her

"I really hope the dog will, at least, give that man rabies or something else" she said then left

That would be when the dog is filthy. I may not know much about her but, she ain't filthy, at least

"With your relaxed face, are we suppose to just see it as nothing or, are we suppose to expect something out of the norms" Noah asked

"You talk as if it's a crime for me to have a relaxed face" I told him

"It isn't but, since the day you were humiliated, your face was like a rotten mango that was about to burst due to the air being pumped into it" Justin said

I closed my eyes, urging myself to calm down. After waiting for some seconds, I opened my eyes and just ignored him. I stood up and headed to the door

"Where are you going?" Noah asked

"To get a dog's favorite food, a bone" I answered

"A bone?" Justin asked

"Did you get a dog? But you don't like dogs" Noah asked and said

I turned to them and smirked

"You guys won't understand" I told them and left

There she is

I walked towards her and stood in front of her locker. When she closed it, she was shocked to see me. I smiled

"Where is she?" I asked her

"Wh... Where is who?" she stuttered

"Are you dumb? Who else who I be asking you about? Your twin sister?" I asked irritated

"S.. Sorry" she apologized

"Can you just answer my question and stop being dumb in front of me?" I asked her

"Keep your sorry" I told her seeing that she was apologize again

'S.. She's having class"

"Which class?"

"Clothing and Textile"

"Hmm, I see"

For someone of her behavior, that class is not one I would recommend

"Follow me"

"S.. Sorry?"

I bent down to her level

"Do you understand English at all? Or are you just simply dumb to comprehend what you hear?" I asked her and she hung her head

"Follow me, and I'm not repeating myself again" I said and went to the direction of the rooftop

"Where in the world is Kim?" I asked myself. I've checked everywhere I know; the library, cafeteria, and even the dark room but, I couldn't find her

Is she having lunch out of school? I thought

But she would have at least told me

A message came to my phone

If you don't want your precious bone to fall off the roof, come to the rooftop

It was from an unknown number

"What in the world is this nonsense?" I asked

The person who sent this must either be a drug addict, or has a dog who has a phone and can talk

Another message came and I would have ignored it but, I was still on the page pf the unknown number

You can remove the bone and add friend to the sentence

Friend? My friend is about to fall off the roof? Which friend? And which roof? I asked myself

My head snapped up

Kim?

I walked up to the nearest person to me

"Where is the way to the rooftop?" I asked her. I've gone there before but, Kim was the one going; I was just following her

As soon as she told me, I headed there

"Kim!" I called as I opened the door. I expected to see her standing on the edge of the roof but, instead, she was sitting timidly beside a boy I wanted to knock the life out of

"I should have known" I told him

"But you didn't" Aiden said

"You must be out of your mind. What should I take as the meaning of this trash you are doing?" I asked him

He walked towards me

"Your friend's well being in this school is up to me?"

I looked at him

"Or, I am going to make her a servant in this school?"

Even though he whispered, he made sure Kim could hear it. I looked at her as she gasped

I looked back at him

"Who do you think you are?" I asked him

He smirked

"Someone you can never be, even in your dreams" he said

"Go" I told Kim but, she didn't move

"Go" I told her and this time she moved

"Don't you dare take another step" Aiden told her as she was about to opened the door

"Kim" I called her and looked into her eyes

I smiled as I told her

"Go" with reassuringly eyes and she left

I was about to also leave but, he harshly grabbed me back

"Do you know what you just did?"

"What? What did I just do?"

"You just signed your friend to be miserable. And I promise you, I going to do just that, even worse" he said and walked pass me

"You are just like him" I told him

"What?" he asked

I turned to him

"You think you can do anything you want, and have anything you like?" I asked him

"I don't think, I can"

"Why?"

"Do you not know the answer. I can because..."

I cut him off

"Because you wear boxers? Because you're the Mayor's son? Because you are known everywhere you go?"

"Well, all three are correct" he said

I laughed sadly

"Well, then. Do anything you want but..."

I walked closer to him

"Don't you dare touch my friend, don't bother her. Whatever problem you have with me, it's with me. I will not stay still if you touch as much as a strand of her hair. Don't even acknowledge her when you pass. I'm also warning you" I said and left but not before hitting him in the shoulder as I walked pass him

"Where have you been? I was waiting for you since after lunch till now" Kim whispered

"Sorry" was all I said. I didn't really have the strength to talk, I just wanted to go home

"Did anything happen with Aiden after I left? Did he do anything to you?" she asked

I smiled at her while gently nudging her in her shoulder

"How would he do something to me? I am a lioness" I said

She scoffed

"And besides," I continued, "even if he did something, want will you do to him? Stand up to him?" I asked her with a raised eyebrow

She jabbed me

"Ouch, that hurt" I said, even though I was still smiling

"Shut up, we are in class" she said

"Yeah, right" I said
