TRUST AND TRUTH

NOAH'S POV

It felt surreal, till today I was planning to start a family by embracing a kid and now I was bewailing the loss of my child.

I released a puff of smoke and looked outside my bedroom window.

Darkness enveloped the entire sky and it seemed as if very soon it is going to engulf me until I become a part of it.

What did I do?

I killed my own child.

My own plan boomeranged and instead of the Serrano's me and my Aurora are now paying the price.

I hated her because she shared the same blood as them, that was her only fault but now I have realized that this whole time I was targeting the wrong person.

Aurora never meant anything to the Senior Serrano.

He never loved his granddaughter the way he loves his grandson.

I should have known; I should have done more research.

I walked to my bedside drawer and dialled the person I never thought I will. But this time, it is necessary.

He picked it up on the third ring and the sound of a very sleepy Alex Serrano reached my ears.

"It's me," I said.

"Noah? What the hell? Why are you calling me this late?" He grumbled.

I wonder how is he going to react when he will find out the truth and I want him to find this through me.

I need my vindication and this time Alex Serrano is going to help me destroy the real culprit.

"We need to meet ASAP," I said.

"F*ck no! I am sleeping man! Go get a life Kaine and let me live mine." He was about to hang up on me but I stopped him once again.

"This is about your sister, if you don't meet me today, you are going to regret it," I forewarned and that seemed to seize his attention.

"Ughhhh fine! But if this is a joke or some sort of prank to rile me up, then you will pay for it!" He warned and I rolled my eyes.

Alex Serrano was all bark and no bite, he loved his sister and because of her, he will never touch me neither I can touch him. Because that was Aurora's last wish.

And even if she is alive I am still going to linger by it but that doesn't mean that I won't hurt the senior Serrano.

The one man who's the root cause of all this mess.

He is the reason I lost my childhood and my family and also the reason I lost my unborn child. He could have saved her!

He could have done something to save my kid but that man is heartless, I wonder if he has a soul beneath his costly business suits.

I didn't care that I was in swear pants.

I walked out of my mansion and hopped in my car to meet Alex at the location I texted him.

I will make things right this time!

I parked my car on the spot and waited for his car to arrive. I am going to punch him if I find that he slept again instead of coming here to meet me.

My thoughts came to a halt when I saw Alex's car coming this way and I finally got out of mine to meet him halfway through.

He was also in his night suit, like me.

He took his time to park his car and then get out of it.

He looked nothing like a cruel businessman, and I am sure I looked the same.

I never liked Alex mainly because of his surname but I do admire the way he runs his business. I know that he is a man of principle.

I have heard that he treats his employees fairly and respectfully and that's the reason he is people love to work under him.

He is young and talented.

And I think that I can trust him….at least in this case.

"Why did you call me here Kaine? I am sure you are not here to check what I wear at night or if my night suit is expensive or not." He commented as soon as he reached me.

We both were almost of the same height but due to his hairstyle, he looked taller.

"I am not that free, but before I tell you this I want to know if you are up for this or if can I trust you?" I asked.

We can tease or taunt each other all the time, I am sure we'll get plenty of time for that. But right now, I needed someone I can trust with my plan.

"Trust me? I don't know if we can trust each other. I respect you as a businessman, but after you did, I don't think I want to do anything with you. I am only here because you said that you wanted to talk and it was something related to my sister." He gibed and turned slightly away from me, facing the beautiful view of the entire city in front of us.

I specifically chose this place because it is outside the city and I wanted it to be a secret. No one can know that two business rivals had a secret meeting in the middle of the night.

I want to surprise senior Serrano.

"That's debatable. Even though I know I cannot fully trust you but I do trust the love you have for your sister. That's why you are the only person I can share this with." I said in all seriousness and to make him realize that I am not here to waste mine or his time.

He turned to look at me with an illegible expression on his face. It was hard to tell what he was thinking but I could see the wheels turning in his head.

"What is it, Kaine?" He finally asked and I was relieved that he was showing willingness.

"Your sister….she is not dead." I finally revealed and that made him turn fully towards me.

"What?" He questioned.

I am sure it was hard for him to believe just like me.

"Yes, you heard that right. She is alive and she is…. I saw her today. It is hard to explain but she is not herself." I should have prepared a speech. Because it was really hard to explain her condition.

"What ….what do you mean? You are joking right?" He contested once again.

"No, I am not joking. If you don't trust me then you can go and check St. Anne mental asylum."

"What the hell is she doing in a mental asylum?" He flared.

"Alex, calm down! This is her file. Go through it once and after checking and cross-checking everything you can contact me once again. But do not tell anyone about this. Please…. I am literally begging you! Do not tell anyone that she is alive. You have no idea what she has been through." He reluctantly accepted the file from my hand and opened it to read its contents while I waited for him to finish reading it.

He read every page twice and sometimes thrice while I read the countenance change on his face. His face changed from hopeful to sad and then to anger.

He slammed the file shut with force and turned towards me, "You! You are the reason she is in this condition today! My sweet sister…..why did you do this Noah? I know you hate us but I don't understand why? What have we ever done to you? I know that this is more than just the business rival thing. No one plays with someone's life for the sake of their company. If you want my trust then I want the truth."
