James Lao

James Jonathan H. Lao also known as the fire man was born on the 18th of March in a small town located in Southern California. He was the son of the notorious Jade Dragon duo Layla Perth and Cai Lao. Although they lived a wealthy life and they have everything they wanted to have, they are still searching for something lacking, something that's so easy to find but difficult to obtain. They were searching for love.

James Lao's childhood was dark and rough, his parents were busy all the time, so he is stuck in his house with their family assistants. He grew up without any of his parents' love and attention, he was forced to do everything on his own with the occasional help of their assistants. Love was a mystery to James, he finds it unnecessary and something that can be bought with his family's fortune, but deep down he wanted it, he wanted to feel what's love, to feel loved and to feel cared for. He wanted someone to be on his side in his darkest times and dreadful days, but unfortunately no one was their to be that someone. His parents didn't cared for him and only sees him as their kid that has to be trained in order for him to take over their family business in the future, his family assistants were there but they were just doing their jobs, doing what they're paid for. He never had friends, children his age are afraid to even look at him whenever he's out in the open. He was alone. But probably not for long.

The night after his 10th birthday, he felt something inside him, something that was growing, something warm, something extraordinary. He woke up in the middle of the night, to find himself drenched in sweat. He touched his skin and found it incredibly hot, as if it was as hot as the sun itself.

He took a deep breath, trying not to panic. He said to himself, "Maybe it's just an ordinary flu."

He looked at the clock hanging from the wall of his room, it was already 2 in the morning?! Everyone is probably asleep at this point. He looked at his bathroom and remembered the medicine cabinet his grandfather ordered him to have in his room.

"There's got to be a medicine in there right? I mean that's what it's build for." He commented in his head. Desperate to make this weird sensation to go away, he decided to go get the medicine himself than wait for one of their maids to get it for him in the morning.

"Here goes nothing." He started to lift his foot upwards, but couldn't. He started to panic, what is happening to him? Did somebody poisoned him? Why would anyone poison a child?

In a matter of seconds, his head ached making him clutch on to his hair in pain. Everything around him started to sway, his vision started to get blurry and the growing sensation and heat he felt inside him intensifies. He needs that medicine now.

He chucked his body out of his bed and he started to crawl towards the bathroom, realizing that he needs to pick up the pace, he slowly picks himself up. He clenched his teeth to temporarily relieve the pain in his had and give him strength. He grab hold onto the curtains and he slowly but surely started walking, he cried along the way, not able to contain his fear inside him. His fear of death.

"Am I going to die?" He asked to himself. He can feel his soul burning, his entire internal organs melting from the heat. He felt as if he was in hell itself being tortured by Satan. He entered his bathroom and smiled, he made it!

"Now where is that medicine cabinet?" He confidently asked. He looked around and saw it located just above the bathroom sink. He again slowly walked towards that medicine cabinet. He reached out and opened it.

"What?!" He yelled, dumbfounded by what he's seing. Who in the hell would install a medicine cabinet without putting anything in it?

He collapsed on the bathroom floor, he cried as he started to accept his fate. His head continues to ache, pain and despair now filled his body. Waves of memories played inside his head, from everything he remembered as a kid up until this point. To die this young is a cruel thing to happen but death is inevitable, death can not be change and cannot be cheated. He smiles as he remembers all the good times, his time with their maids, their family watchdogs and his parents. Wait his parents.

"What about your parents? They did nothing to help you. They didn't even bother to help you!" A strange unknown voice called out in his head. He looked around to see if someone was inside his room but there was no one.

"Who...Who are you?" He questioned the unknown voice.

"I... am someone you need right now."

"Are you Jesus?"

"NO you imbecile, I am a friend."

"Oh."

The unknown voice introduced himself as Zephyr, a supposed "friend" ready to lend a hand to someone in need. He said that he went through everything he is experiencing, the aching head, the growing sensation but surprisingly not the burning heat James Lao is currently experiencing.

"You see, we are an Elite. Not just an ordinary Elite but an Elite gifted with extraordinary capabilities. We are an Elite and Extraordinaire." Zephyr the friendly voice explained. James didn't care of these details, he only want to make this pain and burning sensation to stop.

"Can you make this stop then Mr Zephyr?" Asked a now barely conscious James.

"Well, you see little James, I don't have control here. I just advice things. But you do." Zephyr commented. What does he mean by that? Can he really make these things he is currently feeling to go away?

"How? How can I make it stop."

"You just have to let the gift work James. You just have to belief and wait."

James was irritated by this solution, he wanted to make it go away right away not wait for it, but it was the only thing he can do for now. He's too weak to walk out of his room and call for help, his only solution is to trust in this voice and wait.

"If that's the only solution, then can you put me back to my bed?" He requested to Zephyr.

"Sure."

In an instant, an invisible force picked him up and carried him outside his bathroom and towards his bed. The invisible forced slowly drops him and placed a blanket on top of him. James closed his eyes and welcomed the pain and sensation inside him.

"See you soon, fire man." What did he just said? Fire man?

WHOOSHH

James Lao opened his eyes to find his room in a blaze. Fire and smoke surrounded him and quickly swallowed him. He helplessly watch as his clothes burn in an instant but not his body. Instead of killing him, the flame dance and swayed right in front of him as if it was introducing itself. He reach out to touch it, the flame quickly greeted his hand and wrap itself onto his hand towards his shoulders and finally into his eyes.

James Lao enrolled himself to Hellviana for the Elite and Extraordinaire the day after that eventful night. The local fire department blamed it on faulty wiring and confirmed no one was seriously injured nor dead but reported James Jonathan H. Lao missing. His parents never knowing what had happened to their son or who took him away from them. All they can do is cry, and blaming themselves for not loving and giving their son their time and attention when he was there.
