Chapter 20: The Escape 2/2

Suvi screamed in terror as she saw Dutch’s head, seemingly be crushed. She grabbed her gun and ran at the entity firing. The gun began clicking, sign of no ammo about 3 feet away from the entity. She threw the gun up and grabbed the barrel. Using the but of the gun, to smash the entities head.

“YOU SON OF A BITHC!!!” she screamed. Smashing its head again and again, until it let go of Dutch. It had left a bit meaty like ball on his head. Suvi had tears running down her face, she grabbed her side arm and Dutch. She began to drag him and went to aim at the entity, but…. It was gone. She frantically looked around.

“What the hell? WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU GO!?!??” she screamed in anger. She put her gun away, not caring if the creature attacked. As she cried and dragged Dutch. She began to tell him. “It will be ok Dutch! I’ll get you help! Just stay with me!” she shouted.

She could see ahead, an evac ship. She didn't recognize it but it wasn’t shooting at her. So she didn't care and began to drag Dutch that way. The ship was large, a dropship, brown with some red, and had corner engines. No a Coalition drop ship but apparently friendly.

As she dragged Dutch to the ship, she noticed some odd tracks, tracks of the entity, it must of ran out of the building after it dropped Dutch! Suvi thought to herself.

Dutch was very heavy, especially with the armor and gear on him. It did not help Suiv, she could hear gunfire ring out. It was all over the place and the radios were blowing up. Apparently the planet was being evacuated. She wasn't sure why, but she just knew, they needed to get the hell out of there too.

She was dragging Dutch’s limp body through trees and bushes, she was getting tired but was closing in. she saw through the trees, the rest of her team had made it!

“Hey! One of you come help me!” she shouted. Vall turned around and ran to help her.

“Damn! Yall killed the damn thing but it got the Captain?” Vall asked.

“No, it got away but did this to Dutch before disappearing. Have you not seen it? It left the facility!” she barked.

Vall shrugged, “Hell no! Let me get him on my shoulders! We gotta hurry! The fleet reported an energy build up on the edge of the solar system, it looks to be a warped like beam! Its gonna hit the planet by trajectory! Apparently the Admiral alined us with the local pirates! I don’t know why!” Vall explained.

Vall carried Dutch to the drop ship and set him down. Vetra gasped. “What Happened!?” she shouted and asked.

“That fucking entity!” Suvi Replied. “Is he alive?” asked Vetra. “So far, yes….” Suvi replied.

“Is everyone aboard?” asked the pilot.

“As far as any of us can tell!” shouted one of the men.

The pilot shrugged and begun to lift.

Suddenly the air was hot and windy, the ground was visibly shaking and the sky covered in gray storm clouds, it was sunny a moment ago…

Suddenly a giant column of fire and lighting roared and erupted from the sky, falling from the heavens to earth. It let off a shock wave of force and lightning throughout the land. Stunning all living things, so the far could burn them with ease. As it slowly rolled over the land and rapidly to them. The lighting grazed the ship and had caused it to go haywire.

“Im trying to keep us up! The damn lighting hit us!” shouted the pilot, but no one had noticed that, Dutch had fell out of the ship. The fire approached them and it got taller every second, it would reach them and burn the ship to nothing but molten metal.

Everyone was scared, but ready to go……

“Where is Dutch!?” panikingly asked Suvi. “There!” pointed and shouted one of the soldiers.

Dutch was standing up on the ground, slowly tearing off the meaty growth left on his head.

Everyone watched. As Dutch ripped the last piece off and his face was fine, but his PAS scars were glowing… he raised his armed and his augmentations sphere had turned purple. The fire was seconds from them and it had just reached Dutch.

“DUTCH NOOOO!!!” screamed Suvi. “DUTCH RUUUUNNNN!!!!” Shouted Vetra. Both with tears in their eyes.

Everyone was shocked by what they say next, a barrier holding the fire off, it was being made by Dutch.

“He doesn’t have barrier augments! Does he?!” asked Suvi.

“No, just reinforcements!” replied Vetra.

“Augments or fucking not! We are out of here! Sorry for your friend but I want to live!” shouted the pilot as he regained control and boosted the throttle.

As they flew into the clouds, vetra and suvi shouted in agony, for had left Dutch behind….

The fire passed Dutch and the wall no longer stood, he kneeled down to rest, after holding such force for long. Someone approached him and extended their hand. Dutch looked up.

“Yora? But you’re dead!” Shouted Dutch.

“Well, hello from the dead little brother!”
