Chapter 19: The Escape 1/2

Dutch and his squad stood frozen for a moment, as this monstrous entity. That they had just fucked up, was back up and right in front of them.

Before anyone could react, it launched 3 spikes from its body. Which impaled Vetras side and 2 other soldiers. Unfortunately the 2 died instantly, as the spikes penetrated their heads. Dutch activated his Steel arms and began punching the disgusting being and the others shot at its limbs.

As the gunfire rang out from the outside. The group was attempting to defeat the entity. The gunfire stopped but Dutch kept punching it. Smashing its head in and even denting the wall from the constant punches.

“You ok?” asked Suvi.

“Yeah, kinda freaked out for a moment. How bad did it get Vetra?

“Honestly, it could have been worse. My knowledge of Valarian biology, it didn't hit anything critical but she's going to need medical attention soon. I’m going to apply seal gel!” Suvi replied. She grabbed a small cylinder with a small curved tube. She put the end of the tube lightly into Vetras injury and clicked a button. It slowly filled her wound with a blue gel.

“Well, this should hold her off for a little. Now, what the hell is that thing!” shouted Suvi.

“Don’t know and I am not staying around to find out!” shouted Dutch.

“We lost 2 men back there! In the blink of a fucking eye!” shouted one of the men.

“I know! Just run to the exit!” shouted dutch.

They were bolting to the nearing exit. All their hearts racing, Dutch had fallen behind for a moment. He didn’t keep track of all the surviving members. Vetra, Suvi, Vall, and roughly 7 others. He couldn’t remember everyone exactly, no time to.

He heard the creature coming, he rushed off behind everyone. They managed to get up the door, the hanger door. Unfortunately the door is pretty damaged, the beast was closing in. Dutch made a quick decision.

“Alright everyone, find a different exit. I’ll stay here and try to slow it down. DO NOT ARGUE EITHER!! IT IS AN ORDER!!” He barked. Vetra and Suvi starred at him for a moment.

“I’m going to stay! You owe me a date and damn if I am letting you get off easy!” Suvi shouted back at him.

“No! That damn thing is dangerous! We have no time to argue! Get out here and get that data to the General!” Dutch stated.

Vall looked at them both, he grabbed Suvi and the data. “Sorry but we have no time to argue or debate. Sir, she is staying with you, we will make our way to the roof and hope a ship sees us!” Vall exclaimed.

Dutch was frustrated but didn’t argue, he signaled them off. As the group ran up a set of stairs and used their NAVs to coordinate to the roof, shortly after they left. The creature arrived, Dutch readied his rifle and the creature was just standing there. Starring.

“Sorry Dutch but if anything happens, I am not passing this up!” Suvi exclaimed and she swiftly moved towards Dutch.

“Wha-” Dutch was confused but was cut off as Suvi opened his helmet and kissed him.

He felt relieved for some reason and a rush of adrenaline.

“Well, great timing. Sure hope the beast didn’t already get down and is about to kill us!” dutch said with a smile and slowly looked over. It was just standing there.

“Um, is it waiting for us to finish?” Suvi asked.

Dutch shrugged, as he did the beast leaped over the rails and landed. As they closed their helmets and raised their guns.

“You owe me a date! Do not die, asshole!” Suvi shouted as she open fire and the creature ran at them. It was faster than expected and Dutch began to fire. It was fixated on Dutch. Dutch had managed to avoid a few of its attempts. Suvi shot its leg and it fell, as she went to run to cover, It threw a crate at her. Missed but hit a nearby vehicle. Unfortunately the movement pushed the truck back and hit the stairs everyone took.

Suvi rushed the creature as dutch did. The creature managed to rapidly get up and fling Dutch back. It proceeded to grab Suvi and throw her to the wall, Dutch got up fast as he could and as he did. The creature was alright on him and grabbed his head. Dutch could feel the pressure, it had immense strength and could crush his skull. The growth was on the other hand, going through his helmet and into his ear. He heard ringing and began to scream.

Suvi slowly got up and was having a hard time breathing from shock. “D-Dutch!” she shouted as she saw dutch go limp and could see his helmet shatter with blood shoot out.

“Dutch! NO!!”
