Chapter 13: An Unexpected Twist Part 1

As the Admiral sat in the Admiral seat, a female officer approached him from behind.

"Sir, we have multiple reports of spider creatures taking out teams. Also, satellites and sensors show an assault fleet forming and coming this way. Information show the ships are of the House Devil and Fate. The Devils deployed a dreadnought for this attack." She reported.

"Thank you officer! Do we know which jump points they will enter from?" Asked Suad.

"Jump point 3, that is near us." She replied.

"Good, you're dismissed!" He told her.

The Admiral went onto the fleet commanders channel, he wish to address the attack and plan.

"Are all fleet ship Commanders here?" He asked with patience.

"Yes sir! What is this about?" Asked one of the Commanders.

"Satellites and sensors show that the Houses Devil and Fate, have combined powers and are sending a co-jointed fleet our way. The Devils have a dreadnought amongst their side. Now our course of action, we cannot let the main ship be exposed!" Spoke Suad.

"We could form a defense wall! Have all the main weapons already armed, than when we detect the warp energy! We fire in the main vicinity of the detection!" Suggested one of the battleship Commanders.

Suad sat there and pondered for a moment.

"There's an issue, if we do a wall formation and they began to open fire randomly at us. They are likely to hit us." Suad stated.

"We can't sit here forever! We are on a time limit! Have the 163rd Star Corps and 35th Recon deployed yet?" Asked one of support ship commanders.

Suad had pulled up the Operation reports.

"Phase 1 is complete, the 204th Assault Battalion has formed a perimeter around all 5 entrances and are holding. The 89th Iron Division is keeping all wildlife at bay. Phase 2 is almost done, the Spartans are about to drop in with the rapid deployment operation units. The 182nd Armour Division will patrol the area to limit wildlife attacks." Stated Suad.

There was some chatter amongst the commanders.

"Do we know many ships are attacking?" As another commander.

"It's a small force, roughly 10 combat ships. 1 being a dreadnought." Replied Suad.

There were a few moments of silence.

A system notification popped up.

"Our time is getting shorter! Phase 2 is complete, the Star Corps and Recon were just deployed and reports show the enemy fleet will be jumping to this system soon!" Suad said excitedly.

"Is it safe to assume they are after the Amora?" Asked a commander.

"Likely, I don't this is a random attack. The Devils are rumored to be with the Avage Allegiance, acting as attack dogs. Making some events, look random." Replied another.

"They are with the Avage! We have some sources proving this! Fate on the other hand… we aren't sure." Shouted Suad.

All the fleet commanders were silent, as this silence occured. Something came to Suad.

"No matter who's fleet it is and the size, they have to be concentrated on the warp point right? We will put some distance between our fleet ships and aim our main weapons at the warp point! Even if we don't decimate them immediately, they can't do an area control fire! They have to focus on individual ships or only fire at a few ships at a time. We can target their main ships and weapons!" Suad proposed.

With time short and running out, the fleet commanders had not only agreed but put the plan into effect.

As they had their fleet prepared for the fleet. Keeping non combat ships towards the back while combat and armored fleet ships stayed towards the front.

30 minutes after they had positioned themselves. The sensors had detected ships about to drop out of warp.

"Prepare for battle! Ready the fighters! The moment they come out of warp, OBLITERATE THEIR ASSES!!!" barked Suad.

"Aye Admiral!" Chanted the bridge and everyone on coms

Suddenly 3 Devil Combat Vessels came from warp.

About the size of cruisers, but small but equal power. The fleet opened fire the moment they had dropped out of warp. The C.F.M. 6th fleet was equipped with rail guns, ion cannons, photon cannons, and ion cruise missiles.

First cruise missiles were launched than right after were rail gun birages.

The Ion missiles closed in on the 3 Devil Combat Vessels, the ships attempted to shoot them down but only managed to hit a few, they impacted the frontal and upper guns. Disabling it's weapons, crippling their operations, a follow up of the railgun birage impacted and penetrated the armor. Instantly shredding open the head and many other parts of the ships.

The fleet began to cheer as feeds and data sensors showed the ships to have been defeated and unable to move.

They readied for the next, the cheering came to a stop as they prepared for the next set of ships, but where wasn't expected.

"All planet side forces! You will be without support! An unknown fleet has come out of warp and are approaching in a attack formation. Prepare for battle 6th fleet! We will not taste loss today, we will taste… VICTORY!!!" Suad said on all channels.

"Sir, we know who the enemies are. Why did you claim that sir?" Asked one of the commanders.

"A boost of morale, if an "unknown" and random attacks us and we win. Many soldiers morale will boost!" Explained Suad.

An alert system went off.

"SIR SHIPS COMING OUT OF WARP!! RIGHT ON US!!" Shouted and officer.

Suddenly right in front of the fleet, 3 more Devil Combat Vessels and 3 Fate Combat Vessels dropped out of warp. Guns ready to fire and so they did.

Their position allowed them to aim at the back ship, all the fate ships target one of the support ships and the Devils targeted a Troop Carrier. Unable to stop the birage, they successfully disabled and defeated them. Caused the support and Troop Carrier to begin falling planetside. The 6 Brasnik ships were close enough for flack shots, but instantly a Devil Command fleet came from warp. (A few frigates with rapid ground deployment) and flew right past the 6th fleet.

As they broke the shields and armor of the 6 Brasnik ships. The ships returned fire, the Fate ships started to target a battleship and the Devils started to target the Amora.

The fleet went into panic after…

The Dreadnought warped in and immediately rammed the 2 ships in its path. Instantly destroying a Devil and 2 Fate Combat Vessels. While cutting into the Amora and decimating another supply ship and a cruiser of the 6th fleet.

The dreadnought extended Boarding docks onto the Amora, fights were deployed moments before and were attemtping to avoid fire while shooting at the docking tubes.

"We are being boarded! Hold the line! And fights and cruisers, focus fire on the dreadnought! Battleships and remaining combat ships. FINISH THOSE COMBAT VESSELS! THAN ASSIST!" Suad screamed onto the fleet comms.

He could see through the bridge window, the Devils had space walkers attacking the layers of the ship with magnetized walkers.

Suad feared the outcome….
