since your a stranger.....

A cold light engulfed his body as he felt his conscious drift into space before appearing at the side a wide stone paved road a hundred metres  outside these massive walls with guards patrolling them.He could see people heading in and out of the gate, some of them were on foot, others mounted on horses while some rode on chariots.

Wanjiru took in the scenery around him and marvelled at the beauty. The paved path led into a massive forest in the distance while the area around the walls was filled with flowers, thickets and bushes.

The scent of different flowers assaulted his nose as he closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before being jolt from his moment by a system notification.

<System Alert: Congratulations on being the eleventh million six hundred and four thousand and thirty-eighth player to log into the Legacy Land>

<You have been awarded a thousand copper coins and a one metre cubed storage ring>

Wanjiru's jaw dropped,he had thought that he was among the first to log in but not.

"What the heck,if I had known,I would have used the jewel the moment it appeared."

Wanjiru cursed as he kicked a pebble and called up his status. He deducted that since there was a system notification, them there must be a status window.

And to his surprise, one appeared and it wasn't different from those of the Virtual Reality Games, all that was different was the levelling system.

In place of a leveling system, there was a cultivation bar, just like those found in eastern genres Virtual Reality Games.

"Holy mosquito.....what an op status!" Wanjiru grinned as he reread his status.

He sighed after looking at his age,who would have thought that he would have naturally died at seventy-four due to exhausting his life span.

He knew well that he had no special heritage so the lack of bloodline didn't surprise him, what caught him off guard was that he was a stranger and needed a hundred point to upgrade his status.

He sighed as he walked towards the city gates. The people along the road were weary of him.

Wanjiru didn't care about their weary gazes as he quickly walked towards the gate as he had already had resolved to use this chance to change his fate.

For if there was something that Wanjiru hated the most, was being a common. He had spent his life as a lowlife and always envied the "have it all ". Those mega rich who knew nothing but to flaunt their inherited wealth.

What pained him the most, was that no matter how much he tried,he couldn't break free from his status. But this time round,he swore to fight against the heavens and write his own destiny.

The last words of that mysterious entity made his blood boil as he recalled them.

``The stone you received will help you access the Legacy Land, here strength is the king``

``Remember, whatever you do counts in the end``

He didn't care if he was fated to be great or not, what he knew is that he was going to be great. He would make his name famous and his deeds legend.

Every living being under the heavens would all worship him.

"Halt!"

A sharp command pulled him out of his thoughts.

"And where do you think you are headed to?"

The cold menacing voice of one of the guards asked as he was about to enter the city.

Wanjiru looked at this piece of bronze as that what the guard resembled as he was clad in a bronze set of armor with a saber at his back.

From the aura licking from him and the other nine guards,he knew their strength wasn't something he could handle and so he decided to humble himself as he edged the guards face in mind.

If there was something Wanjiru was good at,that was paying one by their own coin.

The guard didn't know that he had already signed his death certificate.

Wanjiru bowed slightly as he felt numerous gazes on him from the citizens of the city, but he didn't care.

"Respected guard,I wish to gain access your great city." Wanjiru said in a calm voice.

Hearing how Wanjiru addressed him though he was just a common city guard captain and how he praised the city. The hostility in guards voice subsided as he looked at Wanjiru.

"You can't access the city since you are a stranger, you have to head towards that building and have yourself regestered."

The guard said as he pointed towards a three story house a few metres outside the gate.

Wanjiru bowed once more as he thanked him before heading towards the building.

The ground floor was a hall and he could see a long que.He was amazed as he knew all these were players. He quickly joined the shortest of the ques which had no difference from the rest.

The place was noisy as the players interacted.

"This ain't fair...we can't access the city as strangers and even after regestretion,we have to carry out a few quest to fill up the points before being let into the city..."

Wanjiru had one person complain to those around them.

"Hahahaha...."

A short guy with the aura of nobility laughed at the lamenting guy. The others turned towards him and glared at him.

He didn't care about their glares and continued laughing to his satisfaction before looking at the guy that was lamenting.

"You only have your background to blame..."he sneered as he pulled out a cloth poach from his pant pocket.

Everyone was amazed by this because none of them had any money on them.

"Brother, where did you get all that from?" A few asked in unison.

The short man seeing he had gained alot of attention,he simply harrumph as he pocketed the poach.

"I told you, you only have your background to blame,I simply had a few of my private guards hunt beast the moment we entered this world."

Seen that the looks off these people had changed after learning of his status in the real world,he slowly stroked his none existing beards and slowly said.

"With this amount,am simply going to bribe the guy at the counter and my three guards and I will skip through the quests and directly enter the city."

Hearing this, the others were amazed, but still had doubts wether corruption and bribery worked in this world.

And since all were curious, the people in front of the short man let him pass. He confidently walked towards the counter followed by three young men whose eyes radiated a cold look.

Wanjiru silently and curiously watched as the short man talked to the middle-aged man at the counter and then pointed at the three men behind him.

The middle-aged man looked at the four men and guickly glancing at his colleagues who were busy,he quickly snatched the poach on the short man's hand and handed him four wooden badges.

The others seeing this all sighed as they now truly blamed their poor background.

The short man smiled as he walked out of the hall. Before leaving,he turned and loudly proclaimed,am Steve Taji from the Taji Corporation. All of you are welcomed to join my faction, the Great Taji.

With that he left. Wanjiru had a look of enlightenment as he quickly rubbed his storage ring.

Two hours later, Wanjiru walked out of the hall,a smile plastered on his face though he felt a little bit pained for spending a hundred copper coins just to run away from a few days worth of quest,he was still happy as he had more time to plan before most players accessed the city.
