“Mom! Mom! Look, a watch!” She was staring down into the slim box that she’d taken out of her Christmas stocking.

“Dude! A Go Fit!” Mack, now with a fitleg, was holding up what looked like another watch. Him having a piece of hardware to give him stats on his fitness level was a misuse of technology if I’d ever seen one. Even laid up, he was more fit than anyone else in the room.

Still, if he was happy, I was happy.

We’d decided to have Christmas morning and the unwrapping of the presents at my house to save Charlie the walk across the street at the coldest part of the morning.

Rick and I had a great time decorating and hauling in presents. Since the kids had already gotten gifts from their grandparents as well as great-aunts and uncles, I thought the stack under the Christmas tree might be excessive, especially since the bikes were out in the shed.

Evidently, the kids didn’t agree with me.
