His Smile

I must have fallen asleep while on the couch, because when I woke up Felix was already sitting beside me, and I'm assuming he had given me a blanket. "Kat, you're awake!" He said with a smile. Damn, I really missed that smile. "Yes, I am awake!" I said with a sickly smile. "How are you feeling right now? When I got here you had a minor fever." His smile disappeared with those words. "I'm feeling okay, I guess." I said while closing my eyes in exhaustion. "Have you eaten?" He asked me with a bit of worry, I'm not sure why. "No." I said while unwrapping myself from the blanket to go to the bathroom. "I'll make soup; Chicken Noodle?" I just nodded and continued walking.

      After about 30 minutes Felix had finished cooking and then he sat us both down at the table and we talked a bit. "I missed hanging out with you." I said with a not so confident smile "I missed hanging out with you, as well. I'm hoping we can start hanging out more." He then smiled at me, just like earlier. "Thank you for coming over. I'd probably be bored out of my mind if you hadn't." I smiled. "No need to thank me, Kat." We both then finished eating.

      "You don't mind if I take a shower, do you?" I asked, nervously. "No, not at all. I'll just be down here, waiting." He said while pulling out his phone. I nodded and walked off again. Before getting in the shower I picked a cozy outfit to wear. A blue over sized shirt, and a pair of sweatpants that actually used to be Felix's. I decided my outfit and then got in the shower. I locked the door to make sure Felix didn't come in, even though I knew he wouldn't.

       By now I finished my shower and now I was getting dressed. I brushed my hair and then walked back downstairs to Felix. "Those pants don't look familiar at all." He said sarcastically and laughed. I let out a small giggle before sitting next to him. "How about a movie?" He asked. "Sure, we can watch what you want. I'll probably fall asleep during it." I said. He chose Finding Nemo. Just as I suspected, I fell asleep about halfway through the movie.

     When the movie ended Felix woke me up, to tell me to go sleep in my bed. He wasn't rude or anything, he just knew it was uncomfortable to sleep while sitting up. He was trying to help me up, when his thumb came in harsh contact with my healing cut. I let out a small shriek while falling back onto the couch again. Felix flinched in surprise. "Are you okay?" He asked with worry evident in his eves. "I'm fine." I said with a small smile. He knew something had to be wrong. Just then he had flipped over my wrist to see the smallish, yet deep looking cut. My eyes met his. "Why?" He asked. "Hannah, and Ana. They keep tearing me to shreds. It's hard to hold up lately." I said, I looked down to try to hide my face from his. He sighed. "I'm sorry that they had made you feel this way, but next time please come to me first." He said while pulling me into a hug. "Yeah, yeah. Okay." I sighed. I hugged back lightly and pulled myself up, and walked to my room.

       "You're spending the night? Or are you just waiting for me to sleep?" I asked. "I can stay the night. I'm here to take care of you, so you're not so stressed. If you're feeling better in the morning we can even walk to school together." He said with a smile. Another smile. Though I sighed remembering tomorrow is Tuesday. "I'm taking the floor." He said. "No, that's stupid. We used to cuddle when we were really little." I grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him to my side, on the bed.
