Chapter 26 : Power Drunk.

Ryan had a ruthless expression behind his dark hood. "It seems like Hydra is getting too comfortable these days." The cold, lifeless body of the former killer is beneath his feet as he is floating from the ground.

He guided the body to the ledge of the building using Wingardium leviosa and released it. He also put a banana peel near the ledge." A killer that kills himself after slipping on a banana. That'll make a good headline for tomorrow."

The voice from the killer's communication isn't one he didn't know. It is Wells'. He summons a laptop, and checks the Hydra agent's current location. "I have a far vision to start to track the guy after I meet him before."

"He's near", the laptop is pinging on a location 2 kilometers from his place. Wells is staying at a hotel. He used the apparition spell a few times to get to the place. "I feel like Nightcrawler from X-Men".

This is his first time teleporting in the real New York City. Before this he only practises it using the training card. But the card has a limitation in training space.

"D-class cards from before only have 100 metres. The C-class card that I bought when I'm tier 2 is 1 km. Will there be a B class card at tier 3 marketplace ranging at 10 km?" He's excited by the prediction.

Wells, who is wearing a robe and drinking red wine, has complicated thoughts in his mind. His upper level executive of Hydra wants him to ignore Ryan Knight."But that bastard ruined my life! "

With gritted teeth, Wells tries to calm himself down with the wine. "I have hired a killer, should I really do it?" he mutters slowly. The thought of killing Ryan excites him.

The Hydra agent didn't realise that there is a humanoid shadow staring at him outside his 40th floor hotel room. Ryan comes here just in time to hear Wells' indecision.

" Even if you want to change your mind now, you're already a dead man when you decide to send a killer to my home". "Who is it!" Wells is shocked when suddenly there's a voice coming from behind him.

"Petrificus Totalus" a spell is casted. Well now couldn't move as he became paralysed. He couldn't even move his mouth to beg for mercy. " Let's see. You are the first guy I kill by myself in the world. Nice job!"

After mocking the vegetable, he casted legilimency to read the bastard's memory. "The bastard is disgusting." Ryan thought for a while then decided to…

Wells is standing in front of the police station. In his hand there's a recording tape he brought with him. "I'm here to turn myself in"

The police take his statement. In his tape, he confessed all the things he had done. "I have fathered 5 children with 3 different women. When my maid asks me to take responsibility for getting her pregnant, I make sure that she got deported instead."

"... I have abused my fellow soldiers in the army, and killed innocent lives in the war. I feel exhilarated when I do that… "

After the seems never ending confession, his last one's is that " I have hired a killer to kill Ryan Knight, I'm here to turn myself in as the killer is doing his job"

The police become alarmed. They rush to Ryan's apartment, only to find him opening the door. "What's going on officers?"

When the police checked the surrounding area, they found the body of the killer and the crime scene. "He has damn good luck." A police officer is in awe. A killer was sent to kill the kid, but he slips and falls to his death comedically.

Hiddle and Tim make a fuss, but Wells is already turning himself in. Hiddle is dissatisfied. "It seems like he plans to save his life by getting arrested." The old housekeeper said with murderous intentions. He plans on killing the bastard himself!

But Wells didn't last long in the holding cell anyway. He drinks a rat poison he hid in his body and falls asleep to his death.

All of this without doubt was planned by Ryan using the imperius curse. "But it seems continuous dark magic took a toll on my mental state. I need to recover it first before doing anything else."

His magic gives him a false sense of invincibility. "I realise that now." he needed to make sure that he didn't do things impulsively from now on.

A few days later, Hiddle comes into the gym where Ryan is exercising. He didn't practice his swordplay but instead is doing muscle training.

"You're not gonna make me go to another meeting, are you?" he said to the old housekeeper.

Hiddle shows a defeated smile and says "Not this time, or for the long period of time Young Master". Ryan's actions are really scary for him and Tim.

The military try to make trouble for illegal wiretapping, but all the evidence point to a terrorist organisation in the Middle East. Ryan is untouchable. Even Hiddle is confused how he does that.

"The military came out with a statement, saying Lieutenant Wells had been making his own decision and abusing his position as a military official."The matter is over, for now.

"If they really want the tech, I know for a fact that Stark already reverse engineered the prosthetic limbs" Ryan said to Hiddle.

Hiddle understands that Ryan wants to push the matter to Stark, and now is washing his hands clean from this mess.

"I know what to do," Hiddle said before leaving. Ryan finds out that Stark has been buying some limbs and brings it over to his Malibu mansion. The new programming language does interest him a little bit.

Stark thought he could do better in prosthetics. However, his ego wouldn't allow him to become second choice for the military, and he also couldn't say that he can't crack Ryan's invention, putting him into an awkward spot.

After making trouble for the future Iron man, he continues his training. He needs to get comfortable with the new power he has.

He practices apparition, making port key, divine magic, natural magic, spiritual magic, and more. He had been practising from the moment he got the magic system. "Luckily, divine magic offsets the consequences of using dark magic."

Kai, his other body, can use magic a little, but he needed a wand to do that. If Ryan's magic reserve is compared to a year 7 student of Hogwarts, then Kai is at year 2 and still weak in his magic proficiency.

He gave Kai his own energy system, that is the 'Essence Energy Art' . He and Kai also have been practising mind meditation, a method to strengthen his consciousness, and it receives double the efficiency when they did it.

Kai's POV.

During the magic circuit integration, Kai passed out as the main body recalled his consciousness. He was treating a patient at the time. He did try to move away quickly before it happened as the incident came suddenly.

But he fell to the ground before getting into his office. He woke up after an hour, in which many things happened by the time he was out cold.

Skye, who was in the clinic at the time, saw that Kai is panicking and his body sways badly. Before she could ask if he was okay, Kai fell to the ground. Skye froze when that happened.

It took a minute for her to collect herself. She quickly approaches Kai's body while her hands are shaking, and yells for Lana who was on duty when the incident happened. "LANA! CALL THE AMBULANCE!"

Agents of Shield who are monitoring Kai also saw this happen. Barbara, who is on her way to Kai's clinic so that she can thank Kai for treating her, is notified immediately.

Ambulance comes and it becomes a commotion as the neighbours know that the kind doctor has fallen.

The clinic surrounding becomes a zoo. Skye follows in the back of the ambulance, with tears in her eyes. She's really scared if she's gonna lose Kai. Barbara follows the ambulance with her car, and had been helping Kai with his admittance procedure in the hospital.

Kai wakes up an hour later, finding himself surrounded by doctors. It seems like the checkup is ongoing. There is an iv drop attached to his arm.

When Kai wakes up, the doctor is surprised for a bit as he didn't show any sign at all. The female doctor asks Kai some questions, "How do you feel? Is there any pain? Have this happened before" and so on.

Kai recollected himself and put himself in a sitting position. "I feel okay, there's no pain." He observed the surroundings to figure out his current situation.

The doctor, surprisingly, is Dr Christine Palmer who works in the emergency ward at the time. She is also the doctor responsible for Ryan during his coma. She pisses off some of the patients in the VIP ward and gets transferred there.

Kai tries to assure the doctor that he is healthy. Dr Palmer says" People don't faint suddenly if there's nothing going on".

He ignored Christine and looked at Skye who had red eyes and was keeping silent by his side. He saw that Skye is unconvinced about his condition.

"I can do a full checkup if you're worried, but I can assure you that there's nothing wrong with me."

"You have to check all of it.", she asserted. Dr Palmer, who's been ignored, finally speaks up and asks the nurse to prepare Kai's for a checkup.

After a thorough checkup, the doctor didn't find anything wrong with Kai. They decided that it may be some dizzy spells from overworking. Skye decided in her heart that she's gonna look after her troublesome guardian after this.

Kai notices Skye's looks of determination when she told the doctor she's gonna look after him, and he smiles wryly.'' It seems that things are gonna be troublesome for now. ''

When he went back, Lana treated him like he was a fragile kitten, and she nagged Kai to take a few days off to rest. Kai had noticed Barbara when he's in the hospital, and now the agent is in his clinic.

He doesn't know what Shield got to do with this so he asks her. "Vampire girl, what are you doing here?" Kai didn't bother to know her name at the time.

Barbara, who put up a serious agent facade, almost broke character when Kai called her vampire girl. "I'm not a Vampire girl. My name is Barbara." she says. She's secretly glad that he remembers her.

" I came here to thank you for saving me at the time,and then you fainted."

Kai nodded, and said "Thank you for helping Skye at the hospital. That's very nice of you. Also you're welcome for before."

Kai, who had been banned by Skye to continue working, strikes up a conversation "How's your injury, did you follow up on treatment?"

"I did, a certain doctor heavily recommended it, so I have to do it right" Barbara said teasingly.

"Sure, always listen to your doctor. Even if you put a scalpel on your doctor's throat before that. "

Stunned for a moment, she apologies sincerely after. " I'm really sorry for that. The last thing I remember is the vampire wanting to capture me, it is my basic instinct at the time. " She does, she's really sorry for that.

At the time Skye jumps in," Kai, go home and rest, don't flirt! You can do that after you rest! "

" I'll go rest after cleaning up the clinic"

"You should not open 20 hours a day, you need to lessen it!"

"You should let me know if you feel tired"

After listening to Skye's commandment, and having to agree to it, they went back together.

Under the dictator state, Kai finally negotiated to open his clinic for 14 hours a day. (for now).

He spends the next few days with Skye's nitpicking on everything he does, his diet, his reading, his social life. For his social life, it's more to Skye asking him to have one instead of reducing it.

The dictator state went on for a few weeks before it ended. Kai sighs with relief. It's been an exhausting time.

He checks out his Essence Energy Art. The level of essence energy art is divided in an increasing order from mortal, legendary, epic, mythical, terror, calamity, and then apocalypse.

With a human body, he can reach an epic level at most. "That's exactly why I picked this." The Marvel world has many gods. He has read cultivation novels a lot before,and didn't plan to become one.

He didn't care much about it, if he's stuck on the Energy Art, he just needs to abandon the body, and start over. Just give Kai's DNA back to the doctor and reclone it. It's like he never left.

As his body had been strengthened, he quickly shot up to the legendary state by consuming crystal for essence energy cultivation.

During his ascension, he feels like his soul has been upgraded. Maybe it's because of superimposed, his strength is now at 8x the normal human's with 3 tons of weight he can lift.

For reference, a normal human can lift up to 370 kg of weight. He does think about whether to buy the warrior gene serum from Mythic, that can make him lift 10 tons, but he put that on hold for now.

He can feel the soul telling him about his life's providence and his potential, in which he had a complicated thought about its meaning. He didn't know it at the time, but this is his stat.

He put that to the back of his mind, "Let's buy some pets. If I couldn't have an isekai fluffy life, at least I should have cute pets of my own here!"

He browses for some companion beasts he could have. He could buy through the lottery, like he buys some unnamed egg, to try his luck. Or he could buy the appraised ones.

The price is expansive pricing at 10,000 tc for the appraised companion beast with the lowest stat. The lottery only requires 1000 tc for eggs at the legendary level.

Mortal companion eggs are priced even higher than the legendary ones, as it's relatively rare in the seller's world. Kai decided he would try his luck after he's done being monitored by Shield. "They will leave soon. Right?"
