Matt Murdock didn't remember how long it had been since he got knocked out from the battle. His consciousness was  trying to kickstart his brain, instead of awakening him, it caused him to fall deeper into his sleep. He dreamt about the time he lost his eyes, and the burning red world that became his reality right now.

In a dim and lifeless room, Matt was squirming on top of a medical bed. His forehead was sweaty, and his face covering absorbed all of the sweat –making it stick to his face.

"Ugh- '' Matt groaned and jolted up — finding himself in an unfamiliar room. The last thing he remembered was the bitter battle he had with the superpower duo.

Listening to his surroundings, Matt managed to build a 3D model of this place inside of his brain like a bat uses sonar to search for its prey.  Although he couldn't see with his eyes, Matt smoothly swung his leg from the bed and put it on the ground. He stood up and started to walk towards the door – wanting to run away from here and keep his identity safe.

He had tied up the headcover with a unique knot so that he would know if someone had taken it off. Whoever it was that had brought him here, they didn't bother to check his identity.

"Heyyy, look who's up," Jessica saw the man trying to stealthily sneak away.

The medical room was in the deepest side of the base. Matt only had one way to get out of there, and that is to walk through the main room. Although unwilling, he walked slowly toward the main area, where he was called out by Jessica.

"Are you hunger-"

"How long was I out?"

Matt cut off Ava's sentence before she could finish. She wanted to send an invitation for him to join them in eating some snacks. Kai had stocked up some home-cooked food inside the base, as he knew that the girls didn't have anyone taking care of them.

"Geez, how about a thank you first?" Jessica said mockingly while reaching for a beer bottle. Ava smacked her hand, as it was too soon to be drinking.

"Only 2 hours. The police have flooded the dock and rounded up all of the unlucky ones," Ava replied calmly while eating. Not all of the thugs in the docks had been captured. Those who did, will find themselves back on the streets in a short amount of time.

SHIELD and DODC intervened in the matter and recovered many of the Chitauri's weapons and also a truckload of firearms from Alexei's stash, making the smuggler cry in pain.

She broke off a small piece of the bread and dipped  it in the aromatic soup that was tickling the senses of Matt  – almost making him drool. He hadn't  eaten anything for over 8 hours now.

"Did the…superpowered duo manage to escape?" Matt asked with a hidden anxiousness in his voice. He still looked mysterious to the girls as he was keeping his identity a secret.

"Nope. We knocked them out and Kai had brought them away. They can't come here as there is a tracker inside the suicide collar they were wearing."

Ava told casually, not realising the thunderous thought inside of Daredevil's mind. He had fought the pair before and he knew how strong those guys were.

The superpower's last order is to kill the 'man'. They didn't fight much when the woman came, making it easy for Ava and Jessica to capture them.

The girls wanted to bring them to the base to interrogate them, but Kai contacted and ordered them to pass the supes somewhere else before Kai picked them up.

"He also told us not to remove your head wrap. Sorry for that. I assume it was uncomfortable with it being wet," Ava said in a disarming tone.

"He will come here after finishing his matter on the other side. If you want to meet him, I will recommend you to stay here, 'Daredevil'."

Jessica shared the information with Matt. Kai did call him Daredevil before, so that is what she assumed his name was – or at least his nickname. At this moment, Matt didn't have a specific name yet for his persona, nor did he tell Kai about it.

'How did he know?'

Matt was dazed and suspicious about Kai, and his methods of knowing things. His focus changed as he remembered the pair of siblings that he had fought before. He wondered how the girls managed to get the superpower sibling.

Instantly after knowing that Kai is behind the girls, Matt had lowered his guard, but was still keeping his distance.

"Let's see, according to Galahad's database, the collar was injecting a mutagenic serum into their body. The specification is unknown," Ava replied as Daredevil asked.

Matt slowly moved towards the table and accepted  Ava's offer to eat something. He had guessed accurately who the girls might be, and he knew that they didn't have any ulterior motives.

"I felt like I have met you before," Jessica said as she took a closer look at the area uncovered by the mask.

Daredevil : ....

Kai had brought the siblings to Ryan's hidden base equipped with signal blocking and anti-tracking capabilities. The base was on the other part of New York City, among some other bases Ryan had made before. He had built a lot of bases in New York when he got the quest from the one-eyed cyclop before.

The silvery suicide collar had been taken out carefully to avoid killing the siblings.

"An injector is connected directly to their brain. I see that they have been upgraded," Kai muttered as he held a scalpel in his hand.

Wearing surgical attire, Kai used his eagle as an alternative to surgical glasses, cutting carefully at their patient's neck. He needed to be delicate during the surgeries to avoid killing the patient when the injector was taken out.

His speed didn't become slower although he needed to be delicate. His hand-eye coordination didn't allow him to make even a minuscule mistake.

"Whoever did this…didn't view these people as human anymore…"

Taking out the injector from the patients body, Kai had stuck their opened skull back together after he disconnected the suicide bomb from them. The bomb was ticking as it was disconnected. Kai held the small explosive item that he pry from the collar and held it in his palm. The bomb exploded inside his hand, but he just brushed it off afterwards. The strength of the explosive can explode half a human torso, but for Kai it was as painful as a mosquito bite.

Like the previous 'Bonerman' that he had fought during his V persona, these people were slowly dying as a result of the compound injected into them. They didn't have much time to live anymore.

*Pop*

A popping sound was heard as someone had entered the base using an apparition spell. Walking in a calm stride, the newcomer injected the patients with some life-preserving serum after studying the compound injected into them.

"The sister was injected with the gene of a rat, causing her to get collapsible bones. The brother is injected with a koala gene, making him have extreme hand strength. However, the serum isn't perfect."

Ryan had studied the compound since he got it. The compound was similar to the cross-genetic serum data and the Oz serum. However, the similarities were not only there. There wasa mutagenic ingredient in the compound that was injected, that changed the genes of human biology completely..

These siblings' immune system tried to reject the compound that was forcefully injected inside of them but the compound was so strong that their immune system was unable to handle it –resulting in transforming these siblings on the cellular level. The unstable compound was causing their genes to collapse, killing them in the process.

What Ryan concocted and injected inside them will buy them a few days before the siblings return to the afterlife.

The collapsible ability had destroyed any chances for the woman's bone to recover normally, while the man's insane hand's strength had caused all of his muscles to deteriorate. She will never be able to support her body using her bones again, and the man has lost all function of his arm.

"Can you cure them?" Kai asked.

"I can. It'll just take some time. I will take a look at the brainwashing method first and their memories to get the lead about the culprit."

Ryan placed his hand gently on the patient that was lying on the bed. He invaded their mind, and he saw that their memories, their consciousness and everything had been broken into tiny floating pieces of glass as if their brain was thrown into a blender.

"Hydra?"

He concludes as he notices the device he saw in the movies. The duo becomes solemn as the brainwashing method was similar to the method that Hydra had used.

"But it was crude. Did Hydra share their technology with someone to exchange for something?"

While Ryan is making assumptions, Kai was continuing his checkup on these people. Ryan's memory search showed that they were a victim of child trafficking, being held in prison for more than a decade before they became a lab rat. He also saw some other disturbing stuff inside their memories. He pieced the glass back together like doing a puzzle, but some part of the brain was lost forever.

"I will create the cure. You can leave this matter to me. It's better if I sit out of …you know." Kai volunteered to create the cure as he sensed that Ryan wanted to destroy everything as he was reading the patient's memories.

After finishing the country development quest, they got the advanced gene knowledge and white magic grimoire for beginners as a reward. Any of the trio could concoct the cure right now, but the process will be faster if they can get a pure sample of the mutagen. It will shorten the process from a week to a day.

"Well, if it's Roxxon, can you get Luke Cage to talk?" Ryan asked. He can just read the mind of the guy, but he thought it'd be rude if he didn't try to get him to talk first.

The hints he got from the Bonerman incident and this incident is pointing towards the giant oil company. Ryan needed to pinpoint the researcher that is doing all of these inhumane experiments. He can destroy the company, but if the researcher escapes, his effort will be for naught.

"I'll let the girls find out where he is," Kai replied as he texted the Kingsman organization his order.

"Sure. I'll…have breakfast with my… uncle."

The night was almost over. The first light of dawn is here.

At the Kingsman base.

"Ohh, we got a mission," Jessica said excitedly.

"Find out where Luke Cage lives?" Ava read the mission in a low voice.

Although her voice was lowered, Matt  who had just gotten to the base door and was getting out heard what she had said. He turned back slightly before he shook his head and disappeared into the shadow before the silhouette was fully gone.

Going back to his home, Matt changed his outfit and wanted to take a short nap before he went to his official lawyer job.

However, what Ava said kept ringing in his ears. He knew who the guy was. The problem was, how will he help the girls to find him – the bar owner before it was too late?

Matt was lying on the sofa, unbothered by the rising sun that was lighting up his room. He didn't realise it yet, but there was an amazon package heading to his place. Inside of the package, a new suit that was printed with bulletproof clothing was being delivered. The logo <DD> was sewn neatly on the chest area of the new suit.

Ryan headed to his father's manor in Long Island to welcome his uncle back.

He and his dad were waiting outdoors for the helicopter to arrive and land near the landing site on the manor.

"We have kept our word," Nick Fury said as he jumped down from the helicopter and shook hands with Ryan. He insinuated that as he had done what he promised, Ryan should do the same.

"Here," Ryan threw something to Nick Fury, and he promptly catched it. Getting what he wanted, Fury flies back gleefully to the headquarters to analyze the file.

'Too bad for Fury. He won't be the first one.'

A.I.M, Roxxon, Oscorp, Stark, and more had been trying to reverse-engineer the chitauri weapons. Most of them had already produced results in their research as the Chitauri technology wasn't  not far off from Earth's technology. The era of chaos is here. Finally, Ryan realised the importance of the Avengers in this era, and why they will get so much reputation.

'The Avengers will be my number 1 defence against upcoming events!'

He was a little skewed, but he would get there eventually.

"Marcus," Tim Knight said curtly as his brother approached him.

"Tim," Marcus said curtly. His complexion was pale, and he appeared malnourished. However, his body was still muscular. To prepare himself for the assignment, he was placed inside a prison cell without any food for a month.

Ryan rolled his eyes at the manly greeting his father and uncle were having. They were not born of the same mother. Marcus was the half-brother of Tim, born when he was 20 years old.

At that time, Tim was lost on the battlefield for a year. When he returned home, his father had already tried to replace him with Marcus.

Ryan's grandfather never loved any of his sons. All he wanted was a capable heir. Lucky for Ryan that Tim didn't learn from his dad on how to treat his son.

"You had grown up, Ryan," Marcus said with a gentle expression on his face. Even though he was in Hydra, he loved the kid like his own. Slowly, he approached Ryan and gave him a bear hug.

His smile disarmed Ryan completely, as he had seen the memories of Marcus taking care of 'him' when he was younger. Marcus even brought him to a strip club and bought him his first lap dance.

"You're getting married? Congratulations. Introduce her to me after some time. yeah?" Marcus said with a hoarse and tired voice.

" Yeah, I will. Let's go eat first, then you can rest. I will bring her for dinner this Saturday."

Seeing the tired expression of his uncle, Ryan invited him inside. Tim escorted Marcus into the Manor and even ordered Hiddle to prepare a room for his half-brother. They haven't talked to each other much, but Tim did consider Marcus as his true brother. Unfortunately for him, Marcus didn't feel the same way.

When Ryan was eating an awkward breakfast with his family, Ava and Jessica were looking for the person on their mission.

"How do we find him?" Jessica was  annoyed. Her face grimaced as she searched the area for the handsome black man.

Ava was glancing discreetly at the pedestrian on the streets, searching for the similarities inside the picture on her hand.

Kai could have given them Luke Cage's specific addresses, but they won't be able to learn that way.

"I wish Skye was here. She knows everybody on the streets," Jessica muttered.

"Hmm…I miss her too," Ava said dismissively.

"I never said I missed her," Jessica glared at Ava.

While they were searching, suddenly they saw a blind man walking toward them, guiding himself in their route using his walking stick.

"Murdock, why are you here?" Jessica greeted Matt happily. Ava scrutinised Matt's face, as she got a familiar feeling – Like they've met earlier today.

"I am meeting a friend of mine at a bar. But it seemed that I didn't remember where it was," Matt said, with a believable excuse for people who don't know him very well.

The friend that he was visiting was Luke Cage, and he was leading the girls right to their mission source. Knowing Kai, he knows that no harm will be done to Luke.

Putting his trust in the girls, he shared the address with Ava, which she and Jessica promptly helped Matt to find. The bar was placed in a hidden spot, making people have to look for it two or three times before they could find it.

Luke Cage was wiping a shot glass as he heard the bell on the door, signaling that a person had entered his bar. There were only 2 people in the bar at that moment. A shaggy white man and an Asian girl who was talking seriously at the corner table.

"Murdock, you do know that I don't sell to minors," Luke said as he looked at Ava. No matter how she tries to hide it, Luke knew that she isn't 21 years old – the legal age for drinking yet.

" Hey….you're…" Jessica let out her voice as she saw the man. Ava pinched her immediately as her blunder could be compromising their mission.

"What?" Luke asked as he put his guard up. Something is off with that girl's reaction. He can feel it.

"Handsome," Jessica let out her honest thoughts.

"Compliments won't score you free drinks." Luke smiled softly as he lowered his guard .

Ava sighed in relief, not knowing that Jessica truly thought that and it wasn't a cover.
