That Halloween night, the great hall has floating Jack O'Lanterns in place of the candles. Harry notices an empty spot on the bench. 

"Where's Hermione?"

"Parvati Patil said that she wouldn't come out of the girl's bathroom. She said that she'd been in there all afternoon, crying." Ron had used mean words, which had obviously hurt Hermione.

This moment of time was noted by Fate, as something here happened causing the golden trio to never be formed.

But nothing was the same, prophesied by Fate, and what the muggle had called timeline, had distorted long before this Haloween Eve.

On the high table were the usual staff members.

Eren looked at them one by one while the headmaster was giving his speech.

'There is Snape, Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick and-'

Harry looked at Eren. He did not think he would meet him again after Gringotts, but here he was as the librarian.

He had mourned for Madam Pince, the previous librarian, but he did not know her much so it had not hurt him.

'Mr. Yeager however,' Eren was kind and had a complacent attitude while dealing with children.

Harry glances at Ron with a disapproving look on his face; Ron shrugs. Suddenly, Professor Quirrell comes running into the Great Hall in panic

"TROLL! IN THE DUNGEON! T-TROOLLL IN THE DUNGEON!" Dumbledore rises from his seat in concern. Everyone looks at Quirrell and he stops and there is utter silence. "Thought you ought to know."

Quirrell passes out in fear, which receives a chuckle from Eren. The great hall goes silent, and then everyone freaks out, screaming and running

"SILLLLLEEENNNNCEEEEE!" Everyone stops and calms down, staring at the headmaster, and the librarian who did not stop sipping his soup. "Everyone will please not panic! Now, prefects will lead their house back to the dormitories. Teachers will follow me to the dungeons." 

Eren's smile did not go unnoticed by the likes of Minerva and Dumbledore, who was looking at Harry having a heated discussion with the Weasley boy.

"Teachers, take each floor and see to it that there are no incidents. Severus, come with me to the dungeons."

.

"Gryffindors, keep up, please, and stay alert!"

" How could a troll get in?"

"Not on its own. Trolls are really stupid. Probably people playing jokes." Suddenly, Harry stops and pulls Ron aside. "What?" "Hermione! She doesn't know!"

"Don't worry, the professors will take care of it! For now, we should obey them and be on our way to the Common room." Harry dragged Ron and the two separate themselves from the crowd. They run down corridors. They start running down a hall when they stop because there's a grunting noise coming from a large shadow on the wall.

*Tap*

"I remember the headmaster announcing for all the students to return to their dormitories. Are you here to confirm the stereotype of Gryffindor's blind courage?"

Harry and Ron were surprised, by the sudden visitor. It was the crippled librarian.

Eren made a sudden move to look to his left. "Go back to your dorms. The headmaster with deal with the enemy." Eren said while joining them on the way up.

"Hermione is there! in the girls bathroom!" Eren stared at Harry, who was still a bit shaken due to the possibility of being late to the girl's bathroom and what it meant for Hermione.

"Go back to your rooms. I will bring her back."

"But-" "She will be safe, now leave."

.

"We should bring Hermione ourselves," Ron suggested the second time.

"But Professor Yeager-" "He is not a professor Harry, and do you think he could fight a troll in his condition?" True, Mr. Yeager was not well endowed in body parts, he was slow and not even a professor.

But he had said he would take care of the situation and bring Hermione back.

"It would be our fault if she is injured Harry or worse" Harry stared at Ron, it would be Ron's fault for calling her names, but he was there when Ron was calling her out, so he too would be at fault for not stopping him.

But it was not a time to find who was at fault. Hermione was... a friend and he would not let her be hurt.

Should he go back and let the professors and Mr. Yeager deal with the situation themselves? or should he go bring Hermione himself?

And so Harry decided to bring forth his Gryffindor traits to work.

*Grunt*

Hermione was in the bathroom stall when she heard the strange noises. And they were by no means pleasant.

Suddenly she sensed someone or something was outside the girl's bathroom. She made sure to make no noise to attract its attention.

...

*click* Her stall opened to welcome no one. Hermione got out of there, to see Eren standing at the gate of the bathroom.

"Are you okay?"

She looked at him meekly, wiping her tears. He came close to her and offered a handkerchief.

"Here." There's a grunting noise coming from a large shadow on the wall behind Eren. 

He looks behind, and pulls the girl to his side, dodging the club thrown by the troll.

Just when they get out of the exit, Hermione collides with the two Gryffindor boys, coming to her rescue.

"Ouch," Eren spares a single glance at the three Gryffindor students, and then the charging troll.

"Run" He speaks as he leans at the wall, due to him losing his wand-cane.

Harry pulls the two back, this time the Troll does not miss and strict Eren hard, his hand bending to a very strange angle, colliding with the wall back.

Hermione was in tears watching the awful scene, and so were Ron and Harry.

But Eren was where he had wanted himself to be.

Picking Hermione's wand, he pointed the tip to the ground from where his diamond transfiguration walked like a tree root growing, enveloping the troll's hand and then his neck, rendering him immobile, but not dead.

Just then a lot of professors came running, with Minerva not being able to believe her eyes at the gruesome scene, a blood pool where Eren was on the ground beside the bathroom walls.

Not knowing that wandless casting was a thing had cost Yeager his hand, which was in the middle of treatment by Snape's potion on hand.

Dumbledore, however, was only focused on the screaming Troll, stuck in the Diamond cast by his neck and his hand with the rest of the room.
