The Fire Ignites

While Dudley may have had superior intelligence, he couldn't escape the constraints of biological instincts. Just like all mammals, in the first few days after birth, he needed ample sleep to support his physical growth. During these initial days, Dudley's routine primarily consisted of eating and sleeping, with occasional breaks to explore and gather clues about his surroundings.

Dudley possessed advanced knowledge from the 21st century and a broad vision of future economic development. With the right mindset, he had the potential to become a revolutionary figure in various fields, maybe even giving rise to a new "Dudley Jobs" who would make a global impact, just like some of the world's great pioneers in science and technology.

Despite these possibilities, Dudley didn't envision a path leading to academia or the business world. Instead, he aspired to reach the pinnacle of human potential. He looked up to the example Steve Jobs, who had left an indelible mark on the world.

As someone who had excelled in biological research in his previous life, Dudley believed that his expertise in genetics and paleontology will enable him to unravel the mysterious of the human genome.

But as Dudley allowed his mind to wander, he suddenly found himself in the arms of his mother, Petunia Dursley. Her loving gaze warmed his heart, but his wide eyes were filled with astonishment as he noticed something extraordinary. The streetlamp outside the window, which was originally lit, was now emitting a strange, orange light that seemed to be converging in a mysterious way. It wasn't an illusion; this magical phenomenon was real.

Just as Dudley tried to make sense of this, there came a knock on the door...

....

Ten minutes earlier, at 4 Privet Road in Little Wheeling District, Lendon, two figures stood on the asphalt road. Before them was the two-story, small Western-style building where Dudley currently resided. A woman, dressed in black and wearing a hat, held a baby in her arms, her face filled with concern. She addressed the man next to her.

"Are you sure about leaving Harry to them... After my observations, I'm not convinced it's a wise choice, especially considering Vernon Dursley's beliefs..."

Dumbledore shook his head, his eyes filled with unwavering determination:

"Minerva, this is the safest place for the child. The dark remnants of dark wizards lurk in the shadows across the United Kingdom. Even the 'The Fidelius Charm' placed upon the child's parents was broken by the Death Eaters. It's a secret that should never have been uncovered unless there were traitors from within."

Professor McGonagall's astonishment was evident as she inquired, "Are you suggesting there are still dark wizards among us?"

Dumbledore replied with a weighty tone, carrying baby Harry in his arms as they approached the small building:

"This child survived the killing curse, and someone will undoubtedly be watching. Besides the protection cast by his mother, Lily, who sacrificed herself to create a 'blood bond' of love, there is another layer of protection needed. It's up to Lily's sister, Petunia, to provide the stability and continuity of this protection..."

....

Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall stood on the Dursley's doorstep, their presence an enigma to the ordinary suburban neighborhood. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the perfectly manicured lawns. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the neatly lined trees that adorned Privet Drive.

Dumbledore, his long white beard swaying with the breeze, regarded the Dursley residence with a mixture of anticipation and seriousness. He raised his hand, adorned with the twinkling rings of a powerful wizard, to knock on the door.

But just as his knuckles were about to make contact with the wood, he paused, his voice taking on a slightly raspy tone.

Professor McGonagall began, "There are two children who meet the prophecy. One is Harry Potter, and the other is Neville Longbottom. Both born at the end of July. But why did he choose... Harry?"

As the question hung in the air, the neighborhood fell into an eerie silence. The wind seemed to whisper secrets as Dumbledore continued, his words laden with mystery.

"The Longbottom family, you see, are descendants of 'pure-blood wizards. But Harry is a half-blood just like him.

With that revelation, Dumbledore finally knocked lightly on the door, his knuckles rapping out a message known to very few. And then, in an instant, he and Professor McGonagall vanished from the doorstep, leaving behind a sense of wonder and intrigue.

The knock on the door ceased, and inside, young Dudley was being carried by his mother, Petunia, who had her own misgivings about her sister's unconventional life. As she opened the door, her eyes widened in disbelief as she gazed upon the baby swaddled in blankets, a letter attached to him bearing the Hogwarts seal and the name "Albus Dumbledore."

But what caught her attention more than anything was the lightning scar etched upon the infant's forehead.

Overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events, Dudley's curiosity was piqued. His little mind grappling with the revelation that he was now sharing his home with none other than Harry Potter, the boy who lived.

....

Later Dudley was greeted by a heated exchange between his parents. Vernon was gesticulating wildly as he voiced his disapproval.

"Petunia, look at your relatives! I told you to stop associating with your unorthodox sister. I have a stable job, and I could have even secured a promotion just to make you happy. But what are you doing. Talking bullshit about the tales of magic, elves, and dragons."

Petunia couldn't hide her irritation at her husband's outburst. "Vernon, please, let's not argue about this now."

Vernon, however, was on a roll. "Look at them! Your sister and her husband, instead of fulfilling their parental obligations, are off on some vacation, leaving us to raise their abandoned child. Do they have any idea what it's like to raise someone else's child?"

On the other side of the room, Dudley, lying in his stroller, remained quiet but contemplative. As a biologist, his expertise lay in the intricacies of biological genetics. He had spent his life studying cells, tissues, organs, and circulatory systems, delving into the secrets of life's intricate structures.

Yet now, beside him, lay a living, breathing "Wizard."

The desire to study and understand the vast magical world, which he had once set aside, began to rekindle and became a raging fire tornado.

Dudley's gaze fixated on the baby with the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead, a burning curiosity awakening within him.
