Harry Potter: The art of divination

In 1972 Hogwarts receives a new and mysterious professor. The class of Divination was never the same after. The journey of Morpheus will be long and daunting can he finally reach his goal? - Au: there will be many changes to the world of Harry potter, such as some Gods will exist, and so will demons and angels. Not a Fix it fic, of course, some futures will change but the main focus will not be on fixing the future. SI: Mc is not reincarnated into this world Timeline: some characters might be younger or older disclaimer: So, most of this obviously belongs to J.K.Rowling. I'm just writing a fanfiction out of it. The cover art is sadly, not mine. ————- (P) (A) (T) (R) (E) (O)(N) LINK: patreon.com/Boogie324

Matchmaker?

As the students calmed down from watching the magnificent duel between two esteemed professors many began to have one single question.

Did Morpheus use a dark spell at the end?

Yes, many couldn't tell if the shadow spell he used was dark in nature if it was, a big scandal could be afoot.

Morpheus scanned the room with his eyes and could tell what some were thinking, he smiled softly and transmitted a message to Filius.

His mouth didn't move but Filius could swear he heard Morphues's voice in his ear telling him, "Ask about the shadow spell loudly, it seems many think it is a dark spell,"

Filius nodded seeing what Morpheus wanted to do, looking up at the man Filius laughed, "Morpheus what was that last shadow spell you used? I've never seen anything like it before,"

All of the students became a notch quieter awaiting the divination Professors response. Morpheus smiled brightly, at Filius like they were just having a normal conversation and no one else was present.

"It's an old family spell, I'm not sure of the exact origins but I remember someone in my family made it to counter a dark wizard who would extinguish all of the light inside of a village before attacking, my ancestor was said to make the shadow or darkness spell to turn the dark wizards greatest ally against him. Ingenious if I say so myself," Morpheus replied easily

Filius nodded, "I see, it's a brilliant spell I was having trouble keeping up with the beasts,"

Morpheus laughed, "Funnily enough those beasts wouldn't have seriously harmed you, they just disorient the attacker, if one hit you it would have felt like you had a serious hangover," He lied fluidly

Filius groaned, "Brilliant spell, if I'd known that I would have approached things differently," He laughed at the end

The students and Professors watching and listening sighed in relief, instead of thinking the spell was dark magic they now wanted to learn it.

Filius smiled and jumped off the stage, not before sending a long look toward the divination professor.

He felt it when he defended those shadow beasts, they would have done much worse to him than what Morpheus described.

*Morpheus pov*

It's been two days since my duel with Filius, the day after I was bombarded with students, and some professors even asking me to teach them the glass illusion spell. Most didn't ask about the shadow spell as I stated it was family magic but some did as they didn't know what the importance of family magic was.

Now, the attention has died down somewhat as the students still needed to attend class. I can safely say I cemented myself as powerful in the student's minds.

Currently, I am sitting at my desk, in my classroom grading papers. I asked the students to submit a short paper on what went right or wrong with their group casting exercise.

Next class, I will still teach about group or synchronized casting but instead of focusing on the wide application I will narrow my scope to just divination.

I also needed to check up on their resonated technique progress soon.

As I finished my last paper my door gently opened, and walking in was Pandora. She seemed excited beyond belief.

"Professor!" she practically shouted while running over to my desk, she conjured a chair to sit in front of me

"Your duel was simply brilliant! I loved the way you used the vines from the beginning to trap him in the end," She said not giving me a chance to reply

"Thank you," I replied with a small smile

"Once I saw your illusion spell I've been trying to make my own, any idea of where I can start?" she asked while pulling out a quill and parchment

"Hmm, I would read Wilheim's guide to illusions and trickery first he gives you a very basic overview of illusions but a solid foundation will be built from reading it. I would then read, The Art Of Fooling by Jester," I remember thoughtfully

"Jester? That's a rather weird name," she commented idly while writing it down

"A pen name," I clarified

"He was said to be a jester in a King's court, using his magic he crafted illusions that guided his king to make certain decisions. He was said to be one of the most brilliant masters of illusions," I added with a fond smile

"He turned the king into a puppet?" she asked curiously

I laughed, "In a way I guess you could say that. However, if you still need inspiration after reading both of those books I will help,"

She nodded, "Thank you, professor. It will take me some time to create a spell of your caliber." she said referring to my own illusion spell

I shrugged, "I wouldn't be so sure, the Avis spell modification you made was a good piece of magic,"

She smiled at my compliment, "Thank you, I put a lot of work into it,"

As she finished her sentence my door opened once more, the perpetrator this time was Xenophilius.

"Sorry Professor, it seems I have interrupted a meeting," he said absentmindedly not showing any sorrow on his face

Chuckling I replied, "It's no matter, this is Pandora have you met? She is a part of your house," I introduced the two

Xenophilius looked at Pandora and suddenly he looked like he sobered up, "Ah, Pandora I don't think we've met allow me to introduce myself, my name is Xenophilius Lovegood," he said with a proper bow

I had a strange look in my eye, since when did this kid act properly?

"Well met Mr. Lovegood," Pandora replied with a shy smile

"Xenophilius is fine," He replied with what I would assume he considered a charming smile

It was odd, I felt as if I was intruding on their moment. They seemed to only have eyes for each other and I was interrupting.

In my own classroom.

"What can I help you with Xenophilius," I broke them out of their odd staring

"I wanted to ask if our deal still stands," he said

I nodded, "It does, now both of you leave my next class is almost here,"

After my classes, I went to my room. Suddenly I felt a familiar presence approaching rapidly, I smiled and opened the window.

Negary flew in and perched upon my shoulder, "Back so soon?" I asked

"CAW!" "caw!" "caw."

I frowned, "are you sure?"

"CAW!" Negary answered while looking away not liking my doubt

"I'm sorry, I just needed to make sure. Thank you for passing this on, stay for a while before going back out again," I replied with a small smile

Not only did Negary find some demons possessing wizards and witches, but it seems some of them are in prominent positions.

They have been planning this for a long time.

Luckily or maybe unluckily Negary found something else, a demon was hiding in America. A demon by the name of Alrazad.

Alrazad is a demon that is hated by his kin; he makes his living by the demonic tradition of deal-making.

Be it with humans, angels, or gods, he makes deals with everyone. Including me.

If he is in the human world that means one thing, he sees the potential to make a vast profit with deals in the near future.
