After they arrived at Dragonite Mall, Uncle Josh took Amara to his shop 'The Hill's'. This shop is like a dream come true for Joshua. It started when he suddenly won 500 Dragots from the lottery. From there he began to build his shop from scratch. But now, his shop has become one of the most popular luggage companies in the wizarding world. He even has a branch in Diagon Alley.
The shop offers a variety of bags, cases, and containers, as well as shops that can accept special orders, you can choose the design, color, pattern, charm on it that you want, even the school symbol attached or whatever symbol you want. That's why the shop is very popular with children, students, adults, and even ministry officials to take their orders with magical baggage.
Today Uncle Josh let Amara choosing hers that she will bring to Hogwarts later. He even gives his niece the privilege of choosing from the new design. With that offer, Amara chooses one of the luggage from the new design. She chooses one luggage big enough that she can bring by herself.
The luggage that she chooses is of a vintage style in color of broken white and royal blue accents. The luggage has designed like a suitcase though its features two wheels and is pulled in an upright position using a long handle and harness so it can be temporarily placed. Of course, it was also being enchanted to become lightweight even if she stores the inside of it full of things. It is also enchanted with an extended charm that gets approval from ministry and a switch so she can make it seem as if all things in luggage are all No-Maj things.
From there Amara and Joshua go to a few shops buying things that can be bought in America from school necessities in the list, like first year's course books and any books that caught Amara's attention, cauldron, crystal vials, telescope, and one set of brass scales. They could not find a tailor who knew the current Hogwarts uniform design. In the book Hogwarts: A History by Bathilda Bagshot, it seems that they only record old designs.
Finally, it's time for the first wand for Amara. Joshua took her to a large shop called 'Four Wands' which had the symbol of four wands pointing towards the center inside the circle and each quarter of circle had a different magical animal, namely thunderbird, wampus cat, white river monster, and rougarou. Joshua said that was because it was a joint shop between the Wolfe, Jonker, Quintana, and Beauvais families.
The four families each specialize in just one core unlike Ollivander, who uses three cores, namely phoenix feather, unicorn hair, and dragon heartstring. They also provide a wide variety and a large number of wands for first-year students at Ilvermorny.
When they enter the Four Wands shop, the bell can be heard by them indicating the presence of customers in the shop.
*TRING… TRING…*
The shop has a copper-brown wall, a white ceiling, and a white cupboard where they keep wands and wand care sets. All in all, it is a nice and clean shop.
"How do we choose the wand, Uncle Josh?" asked Amara.
"It's not we who choose the wand young lady, but the wand who chooses us." A slightly dry voice answered Amara's question and it's not Uncle Joshua's voice.
There Amara saw a middle-aged man who wore a dark blue robe and has dark skin which identifies he has a blood of African people ran through his body. Behind him, there are three more people, two men, and a woman. One man looks already in his late age, as for the other one still a young man in his early twenties. The woman though looks like a middle-aged woman but she is very beautiful with black hair and hazel eyes, she captivates Amara's attention.
"My name is Jackson Wolfe." The one with a dark blue robe introduced himself as he bowed his body slightly. "Shikoba Wolfe is my ancestor and I'm the one in this shop that specializes in wands with thunderbird's tail feather," he added with pride in his voice.
"Yeah if only many wizards or witches that come here compatible with your wands then you can be proud, Jackson." The old man that was before in the back, come over to Jackson and jokingly mocking him.
"It's not like my choice to just hand over many of my creation, the wands are the ones who choose them," said Jackson.
"Hello young lady, my name is William Jonker. I specialize in wampus cat hair. Here for your first wand are you? Strange though, Ilvermorny should still have the tradition of choosing wand when they're sorted to one of the houses. They only came here to buy their second wand because the first wand meets the accident or broke. So what is your reason, young lady?"
"My name's Amara Hill. I'm here to buy my first wand here cause I'm not gonna attend Ilvermorny but Hogwarts. Also, my uncle here is the one who suggested me buying my first wand here instead of Ollivander's," answered Amara a bit disappointed at herself for must attended Hogwarts instead of Ilvermorny.
Four of the wandmaker after hearing Amara's answer then turn their head to Joshua.
"Well, I still use my first wand made by Mr. Jonker since my first year at Ilvermorny and the conditions are still good. Also because it will be in vain if my nephew comes here and doesn't check the wands here, so I think we will regret it later."
"Nice decision I must say, young man," the only lady between the four wand maker stated. "I'm Samantha Beauvais, specialized in rougarou hair core and this young man behind me here is Lance Quintana that specialized in white river monster spine core."
"So you will attend Hogwarts instead of Ilvermorny? That school is not too bad. Do you know one of the founders of Ilvermorny takes inspiration from Hogwarts so that's why they also have four houses like Hogwarts that have their characteristics," Mr. Jonker said to Amara in particular.
"Really?" Amara's eyes shining in anticipation.
"Of course it's true. Only a few people that still remember that fact so you don't have to worry about it. Just enjoy your school life in Hogwarts."
"Yes. Thank you, Mr. Jonker."
"Let us begin your choosing ritual." Samantha intercepted.
"Choosing ritual?" Amara tilted her head, don't know what that means and what it does.
"Yes. Unlike Ollivander in England, we perform a simple ritual to find out what core is compatible with wizard or witch, then we just need to look for wood, length, and characteristics of the wand that suit that wizard or witch." Lance Quintana who was silent all the time for the first time opened his mouth.
