Ch. 08 Steve Jobs?.

As I headed down I saw the decorations it was formal but it still felt like people were here to celebrate a special occasion the hall was lit with and at the center was an antique chandelier on the right side of the hall was the catering and on the left side was a bar serving beverages I saw many prominent figures in the hall there were people from all over the world.

I saw Steven Delacour father of Fleur Delacour and DMLE of France but he was there alone Fleur was not there with him; he was talking to father seeling as he was the DMLE for India.

Mr.Fudge was talking with grandpa; he was listening to him looking at him like he was a babbling fool; Grandpa saw me and his eyes shined a little he grabbed the glass and rung it getting the attention of everybody cutting Cornelius in mid-sentence

"If I could have everybody's attention, first of all, I would like to thank everyone who had accepted our invitation for the celebration of My grandson's 10 birthday, I would like to introduce you to the person who we are celebrating today the heir of the Chatterjee house Aditya Chatterjee", I was at the top of the flight of stairs and suddenly I had people's attention.

As I started to come down the steps with each step murmur started to increase as I was at the end of the steps I took a deep breath and said "Thank you all for taking time from your busy schedule to come here and celebrate my birthday I am honored to have such esteemed guests on tonights eve the Minster of Magic of England Mr. Cornilus Fudge, The head of DMLE of France Apolline Delacour and My teacher the Chief of Mind Arts India Mrs. Aamani Viswakarma and finally I would like to personally welcome you all to the house of Chatterjee please enjoy."

After saying my piece I walked towards my mother and father both were proud of me and gave me a hug and said, "You did great out there son.", needless to say, people were impressed that a 10-year-old could present himself as I did.

I looked at my father and said "I still have something to present these guys, papa but I can't seem to find my partner.", this was the first time I had called him that and I could see the visible happiness on his face.

And then I saw a girl in about her early 20's she was about 6'9" and was wearing a green saree and was not wearing any heavy jewelry she only had a pendant on her neck which was deep teal in colour and had black hair with cyan highlights she walked up to me and said "Shall we introduce the project we have been working on? "

I smirked and said, "Let's blow this place up.", My parents were looking at us both and were wondering what were we talking about.

We got up to the stage and grabbed everyone's attention it was now make or break time "Hi is everyone enjoying themselves; good, I would now like to ask all who are present here why is it that we communicate with letters?".

People were just confused as to why I was asking this question, I only had their attention at first now I have their interest, a girl said, "because it has always been that way!"

I said, "What if I could change the way that the wizards communicate we all know that even sending simple messages takes so much time because of owls and not to mention the upkeep of owls and the security problem with the owls".

"even though we have methods like the floo network it is expensive to install and not to mention and it also not secure", many of the people knew from the crowd that everything I said was true

I then reached into my pocket and revealed a metallic box "Allow me to introduce you to my invention this device right here will revolutionize the wizarding world with the help of this device you can communicate with anyone, anytime, anywhere I introduce you to the ChatterBox."

And suddenly a hologram of the device was presented it had a 3-inch screen and a keypad. "For the technical part as to how this device works, I would like to introduce you to my associate Kalki.".Kalki took the stage and started to explain.

"The chatterbox uses only a few runes and a small magic stone to function. It runs on the ambient magic surrounding you and the magic stone absorbs the ambient magic just in case if you are not around any magic at all. As to how to use this device, every device has a unique 10 digit Id you just have to punch the id of the person who you want to talk to and press this green button and boom your call is now connected instantaneously and that is not all the other functions would be explained by the creator himself". They were going bonkers looking at the device.

"Thank you, Kalki but I think that a demo is in order now I called Mr. Fudge to please come up to the stage" and I started to clap and other people also started to clap he walked up to the stage "Thank you for coming up Mr. Fudge give it up for Mr. Fudge everybody".

Everyone was clapping and Fudge was giving a stupid smile only a few people knew what I was doing among them were Stephan Greengrass and Grandpa who only gave me a knowing smile I just winked at him.

I asked "So I believe Mr. Fudge has come alone here?", he nodded

"I would like you to dial this no if you will 9978######" he dialed it and it was picked up and he said "Hello?" response came "Hello Cornelius" it was Cornelius's wife on the other line Cornelius had a small conversation and looked at me in a stupor he was not alone everyone was like this they believed that all this was a publicity stunt but it turned out it was the real deal, I gave that phone to Cornellius and he went back to his seat.

I said, "Now that we know that this device works there is more functionality to this device other than just communicating this device can also record sound and play it aloud so it can be used by students, journalists, musicians, and even law enforcement."

Many people knew how revolutionary this product was and the effect it would have on the world. "Now I know many of you must be thinking of how much this device would cost the base model will be sold for about 1 Dinara and the special law enforcement model which is made of tough material and has extra protection of dragon leather on the outer case the law enforcement model has its own frequency and would only cost about 1.5 Dinara."

"This device would be released on July 1 1990 and we have a special program through which the first 1000 customers would get special edition made out of the gold frame and a special 10 digit no. and it would only cost about 1.5 Dinara and for students, we have student plan under which the base model would only cost about 0.60 Dinara"

"With all of this, you must be wondering where you can buy the ChatterBox well we are going to open about 1000 stores at the time of launch and would be adding 100 more stores at the end of years and for where you can't physically go and buy our product we are working with magazines so that you can buy the device at the comfort of your home."

I continued "And our stores would also repair your ChatterBox for free for 1 year and after that, you will only have to pay a small fee to fix up your device. With that said I would like to take my leave I hope you enjoy the rest of the evening."

For the rest of the eve, I was surrounded by many people who were praising me for my invention. I then just took my leave for the balcony where I met her and for a split second I thought that the world just stopped.
