Chapter 12: The One Born In Darkness

The sky was cloudy. It was going to rain any moment but that didn't seem to disturb the man standing on the grass.

Around him, there were just mountains. Beyond what the naked eye could see. Nothing else.

The man was enjoying himself in that regard.

He liked being alone and he liked nature.

He did not like people that much.

'Not at all.', He thought.

It didn't matter whether it was wizards or muggles. Both seemed to bring him a headache. He saw the muggles as a threat since they couldn't be controlled. They were unstable. They would kill each other in pursuit of power. They were willing to kill anyone who they deemed as their enemy. And, if they thought that the enemy was wizardkind then they wouldn't hesitate to kill every last one of them.

Also, he considered wizardkind to be superior to the non-magic folk and thought that it was their birthright to rule over them. All he wanted was to rule in power and make people afraid of him. At least the latter was already a fact.

Wearing grey trousers and a light blue buttoned up shirt, he stood in the strong wind which was a sign of a storm arriving soon withouta care for the mess his dirty blonde hair became.

He held a wand and as his fingers grazed the carving on it, he enjoyed the feeling it gave him just by holding it.

'I would rule over everybody soon thanks to this wand. One of the objects of the Deathly Hallows.'

As if responding to the thought, the wand sent magical shivers around his body. Savoring it, the man let his head backward and closed his eyes.

The Elder Wand had already made him the most powerful wizard in the world.

Grindelwald smiled with a twist of his mouth.

What a shame he still had to deal with those fools who claimed to be his supporters.

He would sigh but knew he was better than that.

"Take me to the Forbidden Forest .", he said to his magic, hiding deep down in his body.

After less than a second and barely any sound, Grindelwald was gone.

----

The Forbidden Forest was the opposite of where Grindelwald had stood till now.

Instead of fresh grass, the environment around him was filled with rotten strands that had probably lost their color centuries back due to the horrifying creatures living there.

That's why Grindelwald used this place as a gathering point.

No one from Hogwarts would come here willingly, were Dumnlodore to even gather that he was here.

There was a reason why the Forest was also forbidden to students of the school.

'Such a pity though', He thought, 'I would have taken some promising young minds at my service.'

But before starting to think about attracting new followers, he had to deal with the ones he already had.

In the miles and miles of space in front of him, no trees could be seen. He could only see a grey fog. Nothing else.

That was until six men and one woman apparated in front of him.

Not even bothering to look at them, Grindelwald closed his eyes and said emotionlessly, "I see you haven't done what I ordered you to do."

Instantly, the six men fell to their knees and began pleading.

"My Lord!"

"Please!"

"Spare me! Please!"

"Shut up! All of you!", The woman shouted at them angrily, causing the men to close their mouths but that didn't stop them from groveling at their place.

"Any one of you! Explain! Now!", The woman ordered.

"M-My Lord, I don't know how, b-but she..", one of the men tried to explain, barely managing to control his fear in front of his master.

However, Grindelwald interrupted him with a sigh and said, "You went to kidnap a girl. A non-magic girl. A Muggle. And, you failed. As bad as you people are, I didn't expect you to go that far below in disappointing me."

The woman next to the man stood with confidence when she said, "You should be even grateful that you're even here and I didn't do anything with you, you stupid idiots!".

Her long dark brown hair was so long that it almost touched her butt. She was wearing a long chiffon gown, her eyes speaking on their own, and her red lips forming a snarl.

Grindelwald raised his hand with a seemingly reassuring smile on his face and said, "Calm down, Vinda. I'll take care of it."

Vinda nodded like a shy girl, blushing while she looked at Grindelwald and she glanced at the men with disgust.

"What did the girl do to disarm you?", He asked with that same low voice he used on his servants. It worked well on inspiring fear in them.

'That's the only thing people are worth for. Fear. It can take them everywhere and they won't even hesitate.', He thought.

"W-We don't know, my Lord. Every time one of us was disarmed, there was a force going against us that would make our spell fail."

Grindelwald didn't say anything for a few minutes. He kept his eyes closed with a blank expression.

Suddenly,

"Avada Kedavra!"

The men's eyes grew in shock, their faces froze in that one last expression and all of them fell on the ground simultaneously.

Even Vinda's eyes looked distraught as she looked at Grindelwald's feet. She couldn't help but gulp while trying to control her shivering feet and hands.

"As expected! They were unable to bring me the muggle. They had outlived their usefulness", Gringelwald opened his eyes and explained while staring at Vinda with the same blank expression.

She looked back, smiling forcibly and nodded.

Grindelwald cleared his throat and ordered, "Now Vinda, if you please."

As if coming out of a trance, Vinda raised her wand and opened up and a huge black egg appeared on the ground. It had started cracking and dark energy pulsed out of it in regular intervals.

"Such perfect timing!", Grindlewald murmured to himself while a smile formed on his face for the first time since he entered the Forbidden Forest. He walked toward it eagerly and carefully picked it up from the ground.

Both Grindelwald and Vinda who was carefully peeking behind him from a sage distance watched as the egg cracked open piece by piece.

When the egg cracked open a little more, a whirlpool of dark energy burst out from within throwing away Vinda and Grindelwald along with destroying everything around it.

"Cough! cough!" Grindelwald coughed up blood and tried to get up. Unfortunately, the pain in his body wouldn't let him get up.

However, he couldn't care less about the pain right now because he was witnessing something impossible. History. Prophetical.

Staring back at the blackish blue eyes of the newborn who was staring at him from inside the egg, Grindelwald smiled crazily and murmured,

"The world welcomes The One Born In Darkness!"
