Harem of hundreds (Rewritten)

A hero... A weapon of humanity, finally reached the near end of his life by battling countless Gods to protect mankind. It was a sight to behold, a memory to cherish... But none of mankind even celebrate for his near victory nor grieve for him. Full of resentment, what will he do? Take revenge against them? Or simply forgive them? This is a reworked version of Harem of Hundreds because I failed to realize that I uploaded the old version I wrote last year.

Chapter 1 - Resentment

"What have gone wrong? I have been training diligently, I have suffered countlessly, I go on a year or two without rest, I have slayed all my enemies. Just where did it go wrong? My strength... Is it not enough?"

As I was lying down, pondering on my incompetence, I just don't know where does my mistake started? I really don't know how much I think.

"Haaa... You did pretty good for a human, I was quite surprised on how you managed to injure me badly. I was wondering why I felt uneasy last year ago, it turns out you were really strong than those third rate Gods."

This tortoise... He is a God who have taken form of a tortoise, glowing with Godly presence. No wonder, I lost.

"You... You're also pretty good, God tortoise."

"I have a name you know?"

"Who cares about that? I was just careless now, if I were not I would have destroyed your Godly kingdom right now."

"You're pretty bold and boastful for a human. Oh well, even those sh***y self proclaimed Gods can't even hold a candle to you. You're worthy of the title 'Devi De Lux'."

"Spare the title, God tortoise, that title means nothing to me if I were to get beaten by some tortoise today, I can't face my comrades after this."

"Right... Comrades, Devi De Lux, I'll be honest with you, where are your companions?"

"Who cares about them?! They don't give a s**t about the situation now. All they f****ng care is to survive, their f****ng wealth, their belongings. None of them have a single f****ng care of humanity, all they think of is to send me to my death door."

"...I see... It must have been hard for you, alone for years, training solely for the survival of mankind. Yet you're not even given priority among the other humans. Why so?"

"Why, you ask? I don't know! I don't f****ng know! I'm like their weapon, a sole weapon meant to protect mankind and once this weapon is broken, they'll throw it away and make another one, that is my very sole purpose."

"Did you really believe those humans? I'll ask you, The Devi De Lux of Gods, Sef. Is it really worth it to save those humans?"

"What do you mean? Why do you think I'm killing you, Gods? For entertainment? For pleasure? For my own interest? No! I'm killing you because I have to... I have to protect my kind from you and your domineering authority."

"It seems you're fooled, Devi De Lux."

"What does that mean?"

"They praised you because you protect them, they love you because you serve them, they'll ask help from you because you spoiled them. Haven't you noticed your mistake?"

"I think I have none, it was my own choice to save mankind not by someone's order nor request. It was by my own free will that I save humankind."

"Do you really think that the ones you considered one of your kind is your sole ally in this war? Have you considered that did they even treat you as one of them?"

"I did... I did consider it, after all, it was my choice to save mankind, I'll be more willing to give my life to them if it means they'll live on for many many years."

"Haaaahhhh... There is no changing your mind, huh? Sef?"

"There's none for now, unless you have a reason for me to change my mind."

"I have no reason for you to change your mind but I do have a present for you before you die."

"Heh... That's quite generous of you, what's the present then, God tortoise?"

"Don't you worry the situation of mankind now? What are they doing? Are they happy that the Gods have retreated from their planet? Are they celebrating?"

"I don't know but they have already probably prepared a grave for me."

"That's far from your imagination."

"What do you-"

I was confused but the God tortoise suddenly opened his eyes, his eyes were unique it symbolizes peace, unity, inclusivity. With the eyes of the God tortoise, he has shown me the the situation of mankind now like a projector.

They were happy... They held celebrations... Not one of them have dug out even a simple grave for me... What the hell...? I'm quite lost, I don't know if this is the same humankind that I'm trying my very best to protect and serve.

They were dancing in crowds... Cheering with gladness... Drank beverages until they pass out... Eat tasty food that will fill their stomach to the brim while chatting with their very best friends... I can't seem to understand why no one... Not even one remembers my name, my glory, my duty, my purpose and my very being as a human.

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! I FOUGHT SO F****NG HARD FOR US HUMANS TO FLOURISH AND NOT EVEN ONE OF YOU IS MOURNING FOR ME?! AT LEAST PRAY FOR MY SAFETY, VICTORY AND IN HOPES THAT I WILL RETURN SAFELY... BUT NONE... NOT ONE OF THEM HAVE A SINGLE OUNCE OF CARE FOR ME.

Before I breakdown resenting humans, the God tortoise stopped me by patting my shoulder.

"Devi De Lux, don't resent those humans too much, it's their nature after all. It's their nature to survive, to celebrate and to be free from all responsibilities and worries, that is what it meant to be a human."

"Then... Am I a human too?"

"That's a nice question... Because you're not a human... You're different from the creations of the first God, if I have a nice grasp of what race you are right now that will be quite informative. Let me ask you this, you're neither God nor human, can I ask what are you?"

"What am I? I don't know... If I were to say, my outer shell represents humanity, it's the form I was born, taken and shall carry to death. My smiles, desperation, sadness, madness and so on are the proof that I'm human."

"Well... Carry on."

"But that's only the outer shell, the outer shell sends out a message to everyone within its sight, it does not represent the true nature of humanity. My inner shell on the other hand is that of the demons. Full of resentment, anger, frustration. I can't even begin to describe the one that I'm feeling right now."

"That's nice... You really thought it well."

"I did not... That thoughts suddenly sprang into my mind forcing me to state it."

"Hmmmm... Well then, I shall declare that you're no longer human, as of today, your new race will be Gods."

"Is that to be celebrated?"

"Depends on you, becoming a God is no simple feat. Those third rate Gods only became a God because they were already born as one, the same goes for me. Let me tell you the truth, if I were to lost my Godhood right now and fought you, it would have been a one sided lost for me."

"Is that so? Well, thanks for that I'm bearing a little smile right now."

"Then expand it, expand your happiness."

I and the God tortoise just sat there, sitting at the body of the space. I have just realized that sitting together with this God tortoise... Is not a bad choice at all.

"Hey, Devi De Lux."

"Call me, Sef. I have a name you know?"

"Then you should call me, Mitra, the God tortoise."

"Then what do you want, Mitra?"

"Do you want to go back into your world again?"

"I'm quite hesitant for now... But I would like to."

"Did you not resent your fellows?"

"I do but if I resent them, what is the difference between me and them?"

"You're right, then, as the new God would you like to manage your world?"

"No... Managing a world seems troublesome, just send me back to my world again."

"About that... If I send you back now, you will be sent many, many years into the future."

"That seems interesting, then do that."

"You're really not worried that there will be a new set of species there? Or at least a new set of behavior humans adapt to?"

"I'm not and even if there really is a new set of things in the future, I will simply adapt to it."

"That's a nice goal."

"Yeah..."

"Well then, I'll send you back now."

"Alright, I'll go now... To the future of mankind."

"Take care, the new God, Sef."

"Hey, God tortoise."

"What?"

"I'll tell you this, I will get many wives in that future of humanity and then I will become a dominator in that world."

"That seems a friendly way to tell that you're going to kill someone but I do not hate it. If you want to take many wives as you want, then go for it."

"I'll see you, God tortoise."

I then ran into the space crack the God tortoise created for me and have returned back into my world.
