Chapter 9: Sheila’s POV

Before we even have time to react, the whole school shakes as another roll of thunder comes out of the sky. Everyone except for the immortals are awake. Crystal, Catty, Bia, Ryan, and I. We meet in the computer lab, and lock the door.

Crystal has a terrified look in her eyes. I put an arm around her. She ask in a shaken voice, one that makes me feel as if I'm about to cry…

"What's going on?"

Bia holds her breath, and says:

" Nevaeh has put a sleeping spell on all the mortals. The only people who are awake are us, and probably Wynter."

She touches her bracelet, and speaks into it.

"Wynter, can you hear me?"

"Yeah, what the hell is happening?"

"I'm crossing you over."

Bia snaps her fingers, and Wynter appears. She gives us all the deer-in-headlights look, and I hold back my laugh.

"Bia--- Ryan is real? They're all real?"

We all laugh, and Wynter rubs her eyes.

Our laughter quickly ends, though. The school shakes again…

And then, Blackout.
