Chapter 4

Next morning was the same as always, only my night was different.

I didn't dream about the call that changed my life.

I dreamed about warm chocolate eyes that were telling me to let the past go and give us the chance we deserve after all this time. Instead of over analyzing things once again, I did everything as usual, grabbed my purse and started toward my car. When I finally found the car keys in my unorganized purse, I lifted my gaze only to find a bouquet of red roses in front of my car. There was no card but also there was no question about whom they were from.

He was still as stubborn as I can remember. He just didn't take no for an answer. I took the roses and put them inside my house, locked the door once more and went to my car once again.

The day was uneventful.

Except for Kensie grilling me about my secret admirer that she heard about from town gossipers.

But my lips were sealed.

We were always like three musketeers, so i thought it wasn't fair for Andy to get a chance to surprise me but for Kensi to be prepared when he walked inside my bar.

I knew he would be back in the evening and, since it was the end of the week, the crowd would get bigger throughout the evening. So Kensie was working at the bar with me tonight until we closed at 11pm.

"Come on! Why won't you tell me who he was? First time in years that you showed an interest in the male species and I wasn't around to witness it and now you won't even share the juicy details with me! What kind of a friend are you? "

I laughed out loud at her outburst, which was the 6th or 7th in a row already.

"I've told you, Kens, there are no juicy details to spill and no interest shown, so you can stop torturing your brain with weird ideas that are trying to corrupt your mind."

Her mouth was shaped in the perfect letter o.

"Now hold on a second. Thats insulting! My mind does not need any corruption, are we clear? And don't lie to me young lady. I've been told you were kissing someone after closing in the parking space. Now look me in the eyes and deny it if you dare!"

I was trying to come up with something believable, when the bell above the door rang. Kens looked at the door for a second and was about to go on her rant again when she turned her head back to the door, her eyes going as wide as saucers.

I suspected who had walked in, so I had just enough time to cover my ears before shrieking began.

"YOU IDIOT! IVE MISSED YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH! WHY DID YOU KEEP YOUR UGLY FACE AWAY FOR SO LONG?"

She then jumped across our bar and ran into Andys'outstretched arms.

She was crying and laughing at the same time, and I could even see Andy's eyes going a bit misty in the corners.

She pulled away from him and turned to look at me. But pure shock registered on her face when she realized i was still behind the bar, cleaning glasses. The only difference from before was a soft smile on my lips.

"Wait a second! Now it all makes sense. You are her secret admirerer." She turned to point a finger between me and Andy.

He started laughing loudly and I was holding in a giggle of my own.

"I can see rumors still spreading around faster than diseases in this town. But I have no idea how could I be a secret admirerer when I'm right in front of her?"

She appeared to be deep in thought for a second and then it was like lightning struck her.

"YOU TWO FINALY KISSED AND YOU DIDN'T SHARE THE NEWS WITH ME? HOW DARE YOU?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TWO TO GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES?"

Now it was my turn to be shocked. And i was also a bit embarrassed because all the customers were looking at us at that moment.

I grabbed both my best friends and pulled them with me behind the bar.

"Now you both listen very carefully because I will tell you this only once. First:, Kens, there's nothing going on between us. Yes, he kissed me but it was a moment of adrenaline surging through him probably. Second: Andy no more flowers please. And third: stop making drama in my bar. Both of you. Are we clear?"

Kensi was looking at me like I lost my mind, but Andy was smirking and mischief was written clear in his eyes.

"Don't be so sure about your points, sweetheart. Things might surprise you. And since I've only been back for 2 days, I can guarantee you still didn't see my A game. So hold on tight. It's gonna be a bumpy ride"

He winked at me, turned around and walked away without saying goodbye.

And I was dumbstruck. I couldn't help but feel like I had just provoked a lion.
