Chapter 83

A/N: Read all the comments from the previous chapter and understand some of the point of views that were being made, however as stated previously this name is only for now and once the universe or more specifically the Covenant is taken over then there will be another reorg to represent all the races.

For now the name United Human Empire is just to create united political system to bring all the colonies and Earth together as one and prepare them to become the true inheritors of the mantle.

Also adding the word empire at the end doesn't change anything nor make it a monarchy or want to eradicate all other races in the galaxy which is explained within the chapter. If anything it is to represent every world and such. And I could have created better names to chose from as most of them had Earth in it which is my mistake but for the final reorg when the Covenant are conquered I will have some good names to chose from.

2538, November 27th

The UEG senate has convened on this day to finally finish the reorg of the UNSC. They were having trouble trying to find a proper working Government for both Earth and the colonies, but after receiving a recommendation from the UNSC security council they managed to create a new Government.

The head of the new Government would be given the title of Lord Protector which is a position that was suggested by the UNSC security council to replace the position of President. The Lord Protector would be an elected position and the chosen person serves for life, unless the Senate and the people get together to determine that the current Lord Protector is not capable of his job. The position of Lord Protector is not a monarchal position, it is simply an elected Authority position that would officially grant Axel Authority over both civilian and military matters.

The Senate would be integrated into the new Government and would be joined by elected Senators from all the colonies to ensure a representation of all planets needs and encourage unity amongst the colonies. The new Senate would keep their original name as there is no need to change it.

Effectively this reorg was for the Unified Earth Government so the UNSC kept its name and power while the new Government would integrate both the Civilian and military government to form one united Government to centralize power.

The new name of the Government which was also suggested by the UNSC security council was the United Human Empire (UHE) which was explained to represent the vast colonies and areas of space under Human control.

The name "United Human Empire" encompasses all colonies inhabited by Humans and every planet containing any type of Human settlement, whether it be civilian or military. An empire is not only a government led by an Emperor but also signifies a political entity comprised of multiple territories, military bases, and diverse populations. Despite all being human, the various races differed based on their upbringing in nations on Earth or distant colonies.

Which is why the new Government will ensure to enforce unity amongst the population since when at the end of the day everybody is a Human no matter where they grew up, how rich they are, or their upbringing. Which is why the name United Human Empire was created to erase the diversity between the people and promote unity.

2538, December 1st

The UEG Senate convened again on this day, to discuss the election process for the inaugural Lord Protector. A structure had been proposed wherein each colonial Senate representative would have a vote, weighted by the population of their respective colony. The decision was, as expected, met with both applause and dissent.

Those in favor argued that given the diversity of human colonies, allowing each planet to have an equal say in electing the Lord Protector would surely result in an imbalance. They supported the proposed weighted voting, arguing that colonies with greater populations should naturally have a more significant voice.

Those opposing the measure pointed out that less-populated colonies may be marginalized, and their unique concerns overlooked under this system. They lobbied for one colony, one vote system, where even the smallest of colonies would have an equal say in electing the Lord Protector.

The debate was heated and robust, with many Senators passionately defending their positions. After days of discussion and compromise, Axel had showed up at the Senate meeting and showed his support for the one colony, one vote system to not repeat the same mistakes of the past.

This won him more favor from the newly elected colonial senators. He also had control over the previous senators so the debate had come to an end, it was decided that the one colony, one vote system would be adopted. Each colony will have a single vote to represent them no matter the size of the population.

This decision was central to what Axel wanted to represent the United Human Empire's ethos, evoking a sense of belonging among humans wherever they might reside. From the bustling mega-cities of Earth to the fledgling terraformed settlements on distant exoplanets, every voice would be heard equally. As such, the United Human Empire under his leadership would symbolize unity in diversity, not dominance by majority.

2539, January 12th

The first of several elections took place on this day across various worlds to elect the inaugural Lord Protector. The election process was a spectacle like none other, as it signaled the birth of a unified humanity stretching across the stars. Candidates from all walks of life stepped forward to propose their vision for the new Empire.

However, none of them came close to Axel as his efforts had given birth to this new political structure. He was also a hailed as the Hero of humanity and was already considered the de jure leader of Humanity on top of his position as Chairman of the UNSC.

2539, February 1st

The awaited day had finally come. The votes from all the colonies had been gathered and tallied. The UHE Senate chamber was brimming with representatives from every corner of the human empire, their collective gaze fixed on the Lord Protector's vacant seat at the head of the room.

As the final tally was announced, Axel's victory was clear and overwhelming. There was a brief moment of silence before the chamber erupted in applause. Regardless of political differences, everyone recognized how instrumental Axel had been in bringing unity to humanity's diverse colonies on top of numerous other achievements. He simply represented what the United Human Empire should be.

Axel stepped forward to accept his position as Lord Protector, he already knew he was going to win as there was no other candidate that could even contend with him. As he sat down in his new seat at the head of the room, he raised his hand, signaling for silence, and the room quickly fell quiet.

"Today ladies and gentlemen we have just taken our first steps towards the future," he began, his voice and words grabbing everyone's attention as it was also being broadcasted to every single corner of human space. "For the past 10 years we have seen great progress in the advancement of our society, but today we embark on a journey that is even greater. Today, we are not just inhabitants of Earth or any colony, but citizens of the United Human Empire," he declared with authority.

There was a significant change in the air as everyone in the chamber acknowledged his words. His emphasis on 'United' echoed through the halls, highlighting the essence of what this new empire stood for, unity and equality among all humans, irrespective of where they hailed from.

"There will be challenges ahead, no doubt. But remember, we are one people, one Empire," he continued. "Regardless of the many worlds we inhabit or the languages we speak or the cultures we hold dear, we share one common denominator - our humanity."

"Let us not falter in our quest for unity and progress," he urged. "Our strength lies in our diversity, let it not divide us but make us stronger instead." He raised his right hand slowly, pointing upwards as though reaching for the stars themselves. "To a future where all humans stand together as one...to infinity and beyond!"

The chamber erupted into applause once again with cheers echoing through every corner. The broadcast ended with Axel's image fading out only to be replaced by the new flag of the United Human Empire.
