Chapter 11

It was an uneventful afternoon, students drifting from class to class, everyone was enjoying their break time. It was peaceful, until showed up at class 1-1 to continue his usual shenanigans.

"Shousuke! I got us some Biggy Ds coupons!"

"Go bother someone else."

Haku replied almost instantly, seemingly fed up with Kuroki

"Aren't you a bit too harsh on him Haku-kun?"

"See Shousuke? Even Tomori-chan noticed!"

"I, for one, agree with Haku-chin. Carrot-kun, you come here wayy too often."

"Ueno-chan, where did you even come from?"

"U-Ueno-san, I don't think he's bothering us that much…"

"So we have 2 in favor of kicking me out, and 2 against it. Anyways, now that the gang's all here, how 'bout we go get some burgers afterschool?"

"I'll go if Haku-chin goes."

"Me too!"

"I-I'll be there as well."

"Sometimes it feels like you're the main character of some weird light novel, Shousuke. You're the center of everything."

"Urgh fine, I suppose I have to go."

"Cool! See you at the school gate."

The rest of the afternoon went on as it usually does, and as they were packing their bags, a notification popped up in the groupchat

{Carrot: HURRY UP!!!}

{Haku: How the hell did you even get there that early, class just ended you know}

{Carrot: JUST GET DOWN HERE ALR}

"You heard the guy, let's get going, Tomori-san"

"Oh, yeah. Kurosawa-chan, Ueno-chan, are you guys ready?"

"We're done."

The group started to make their way towards the school gate, much to the envy of both the guys and girls. Then, out of nowhere, Saburo appeared. He was medium height, being a bit shorter than Kurosawa. Saburo was thin ,his hair was black and spiky, almost as if he was from a shonen anime.

"Wassup Haku~"

"It's Haku-kun, do I really have to remind you again?."

"Right, right, I forgot. Anyhoo, where are you guys headed?"

"Is it really your business?"

"I think it's fine for Yoshinaga to join us, don't you guys think so too? The more the merrier right?"

"Ueno-chan~ I knew you'd care for mee~"

"I-I'm fine with it as long as everyone agrees"

"Me too!"

"Urgh, whatever, you can come with us."

"Wow, Haku-kun, I never thought you were such a tsundere~"

"Shut up."

Everyone giggled a bit as they walked to the school gate.

"Took you guys long enou- And who's that guy?"

"I don't know, pretend that he doesn't exist."

"Wow Kuroki-kun,we're in the same club yet you don't remember who I am?

"Nope, not even the slightest idea."

"Why is everyone so mean to me?"

"You should start getting used to it."

"Not everything hates you Carrot-kun, unlike you, Yoshinaga is interesting."

"You're nice to everyone but me Ueno-chan."

After the brief exchange, they all headed for the Big Donalds, making small talk on their way there. Eventually, they arrived at the now busy fast food restaurant. The staff greeted them, and every one ordered their respective meals

"Still, I didn't think you're the type that buys Happy Meals for the toys, Haku-kun"

"It's not for me, it's for my little brother."

"You have a brother, Haku-chin?"

"And a little sister, she's a senior in middle school, aiming for Hizuru too."

"You got the Happy Meal too, right Tomori-chan?"

"Yeah, I just like the toys."

"Awww aren't you guys such a cute couple~ Still, you'd be in better hands with me than him Tomori-chan~"

Tomori was a bit flustered at the thought of being in a relationship with Haku, normally her head would overheat and she'd die from blushing too hard, but the sheer thought of being together with Kuroki of all people cooled her head down with disgust, so much so it was apparent on her face.

"Kuroki, you're lucky I'm sitting across the table."

"That's why I picked this seat."

Kuroki could not only feel Haku's murderous intent, but also someone else's, though he was too afraid to think where it came from.

"Here are your orders, please enjoy your meal!"

The waitress laid down their orders then walked away.

"Here are the lovebirds' Happy Meals, this cheeseburger is mine, the chicken sandwich is Yoshinaga's, and Kurosawa-san and Ueno-chan shares the shrimp burger and fries."

"I-I'm surprised you remembered all that, Kuroki-kun!"

"I have a good head on my shoulders. Heh."

"And yet you're in 1-2."

"Hey stop mocking me already!"

As the group started digging into their meals, Tomori and Haku opened up their boxes to see what toy they got.

"Oh! I got Cloudy! He's the main character in the game I- my brother plays, haha"

"And… I got… Uhhh… Who's this guy again?"

"His name is Sephirath, he's the main villain"

"Oh neat! He looks kinda like you, but with longer hair and bangs."

"Haha… you think so?"

"Yeah!"

"So… what are you going to do with it?"

"I'll probably throw him into the corner of my room somewhere"

"Oh…"

Haku looks down in disappointment, he really wanted the figurine, but he was too afraid to ask her for it, thinking that it was too 'selfish of me'. Tomori seemingly noticed this, and recalled what she promised him on the first day they met.

"Though I guess it'd be a waste for me to keep it, so here, take it."

"I-Is it really ok? I'm not being selfish am I? I mean I already have mine…"

"Remember what I told that boy?"

"I- Yeah?"

"Good, so take it, it's fine to want something you don't have, but you'll have to work to get it."

"But I haven't done anything though…"

"Then I want you to tell me that you want it and ask me to give it to you"."

"Huh?"

"Come on, or else I'll take it back~"

Haku struggled for a bit, wondering if he should take the deal or not. But he quickly made up his mind and built up the courage and asked for it.

"C-Can I h-have the figurine… p-please?"

"Of course you can."

Tomori gently put the figurine in his hands, right then, a thought crossed her mind : 'What would it feel like to hold it? His hand is so much bugger compared to mine, but his skin is so soft, his fingers look so delicate, and it all feels so warm…'. Just as the thought was about to finish, she could hear Saburo from the other side of the table, as well as someone's intense glaring.

"Those two lovebirds appears to be in their own world, they didn't even notice us calling their names."

Upon hearing this, both Haku and Tomori pulled their hand back, seemingly out of pure embarrassment. Tomori was blushing, remembering what Haku said, but when she looked to him, and saw how red his ear was, she started giggling, with the rest of them.

'You're too cute, Haku-kun, and you'd be even cuter if I can see that beautiful face of yours.'
