Chapter 10

"Ah, Haku-kun! Good morning!"

"Oh, Tomori-san, I'll have to get used to seeing you on the train now."

"Is it a bad thing? To see me on the morning train."

"Nope, not at all."

They both stood in silence, not knowing what else to say. As the train gets more and more crowded, they got closer and closer to each other.

"It sure gets crowded in the morning huh…"

"You'll get used to it Tomori-san"

As things get even more awkward, something caught Tomori's eyes

"Your necktie… you tied it wrong."

"Oh did I? I never seem to get it right."

Tomori giggled a bit, and Haku's face grew red

"I never thought I'd ever see this side of you. Here, bend down a bit, I'll fix it for you."

"O-oh, alright."

Haku lowers his body, hunching his back down

"A bit lower Haku-kun, you're too tall!"

Haku bends down even more, now with his chin right above Tomori's head

"Is this good?"

"Yeah, it's perfect."

As Tomori unties his necktie and fixes it, Haku's face grew red, seemingly unable to process what was happening.

"Aaaaaaaand done! I can teach you later if you want to, I'll teach you!"

"How about this afternoon then, we don't have classes then."

"Sure, I won't have anything better to do."

The conversation peters out, but only then does reality settle in for Tomori. 'WAIT WAIT WAIT WASN'T THAT A BIT TOO CLOSE? I THINK SOMEONE SAW US TOO? DOES HE MIND?' She panics inside,while keeping a cool exterior. Tomori could already hear the gossip spreading through the crowded train, from the adults reminiscing about their youth, to their schoolmates speculating about their relationship.

"I-I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have done that in public- And he's already asleep"

He fell asleep standing up, still holding on to the metal handle bars. This wouldn't last long, however, as they were slowly approaching their station. She tried to wake him up, calling out his name and pulling his arm. It was to no avail and he continued to sleep through her efforts. They soon arrived at their station, with Haku still dead asleep.

"Hey! Wake up! We're already here!"

"H-huh? What?"

There was a loud beeping sound, signaling that the train doors were about to close. Upon hearing it, Tomori took Haku by the hand and ran out. Haku, still half asleep, just went along with it until they were outside.

"You! Didn't I tell you to go to sleep early last night?"

"I did! But then I remembered that I didn't have dinner yet, one thing led to another and I stayed up until 2AM."

"HOW???"

"I honestly don't know"

"Either way, don't do that again!"

"I know, I know."

"Now let's head to school, or we'll be late."

"Ah, wait, your hand…"

Tomori suddenly remembered, and pulled her hand back. 'What's wrong with me today?',she thought to herself

"It was quite warm, Tomori-san, are you feeling ok?"

"There's nothing wrong with me, dummy!"

Tomori blushed, not knowing what else to say.

"Can we go to school now?"

She rushed Haku, and they started walking. On the way, Haku chuckled a bit.

"I never thought you could get that flustered over hand holding, Tomori-san"

"Look who's talking, Mr I Can't Show My Face. Besides, I've never done it with anyone else."

"Oh, I-I'm sorry…"

" W-wait, it's a joke, seriously, it's a joke. You get sensitive over the dumbest things."

"And you get flustered over the smallest things."

"I guess we're both weird."

They started laughing, and attracting a lot of gazes filled with envy and contempt.

"Now we really have to run to school, Haku-kun, can't have our school's star be late shall we?"

"Let's go then."
