Chapter 3

It's been a few months since I joined Teiko Middle School. Ms Yama was an absolute slave driver. To prepare us for the middle school volleyball tournament she put us through intense workouts everyday. She made sure that everyone learns the basics for each category for volleyball while also helping students in the things their good at. For me though I did everything. I asked for advice from Ms Yama for things I wanted to improve upon. My body is fully in tune with my observation haki. I can use it to predict where the ball will go and to which player. My body then reacts accordingly to that knowledge. Using perfect copy I upgraded my skills in all fields. I can do the jump floater serve used by Yamaguachi from memory and ingrained it to my style. As for my sets I memorized what sets my teammates like the best when in practice. I even implemented Akashi Seijuro perfect passes concept for my sets. I wanted to be able to make the perfect sets so my teammates can score.

For regular life I became friends with Tendou. After the day I gave my explanation, he came up to me and we started hanging out. He even taught me some pranks.

" Alright everyone gather around. " Ms Yama called. " As you know the middle school tournament is coming up. Our first opponent is Seiren middle school. They are a strong team however they don't have anyone that is much of a threat. There defence is solid but we can break though them easily.

Our first match is two days from now, so tommorow will be a day off for you to rest. That's all. Now then let's clean up before heading home. "

As we were cleaning up me and Tendou were talking about things.

" I'm still sad. Why did Ace have to die though." Tendou says.

" I know how you feel. I liked Ace to but still you have to admit Akainu is an interesting character. "

" Sigh. I know, but it's frustrating since I can still remember him killing Ace. "

" Okay let's stop talking about that. What do think about Blackbeards and luffys first meeting now after seeing what Blackbeards ideals are? "

" I think Oda is a god damn genius. "

We were talking about the marineford war from one piece. What manga like that still exist in this world. It's even mentioned in the cannon story at one point.

After separating from Tendou I headed home. Along the way i kept thinking about the match. I wasn't nervous, no no. I was excited. This was going to be fun.

It was now time for the first day of the tournament. I woke up, did my daily routine and had my breakfast. As I was about to leave Shoyo and Natsu came to hug me.

" Good luck nii san. " Shoyo says.

" Yeah. Good luck and win for your adorable little sister "

" And brother " Shoyo adds.

" Hahaha, okay then I will win for my adorable little siblings. " I say. I then left to head to school.

A few hours later we arrive at the stadium, warming up for our match.

" Hey Tendou sempai I want see the results from training for sets. Can you do a set with me? " I ask.

" Sure. Here it comes. "

Tendou throws the ball to be. I then set the ball for a high set close to the net. Tendou comes towards the ball and spikes it down.

" How was It? "

" It was perfect Dai chan "

" Yes, wait Dai chan? "

" Like it. I decided to call you that. "

" Sigh all right. "

Then we heard a whistle sound. The game was about to start. The coin was tossed.Heads to Teiko, tails to Seiren. It landed on heads. We decided to serve first.

Takou sempai was the one to serve. The ball went the other team as one of there wing spikers on the right bottom corner of there side received the ball. It then went to there setter who set it to there middle blocker but I saw that coming so I jumped up to block it and the ball hit the floor. The first point went to Teiko.

After a few back and forths the score was now 15 to 8. Teiko kept the lead thanks to my and Tendou sempais blocks. It was now time for me to serve. I decided to use my jump floater serve. I served, the ball went to the other court , looked like it was going out but it hit inside the court a few centimetres from the line earning us the point.

" Holy. Dai chan when did you learn that? That was awesome. " Tendou asked with an excited look on his face.

" I did it in secret when I had time."

" Well since it just worked give us another one." He said, while giving me the ball.

" Roger that " I answered while saluting him.

I then used the same serve again and again till my rotation was over. I managed to get 5 points using my serves.

It was now time for the second set. We won the first set 25 to 13. The other team served the ball. It was then received by Kagame sempai and the ball headed to Hayama sempai. He then set the ball for me. I then ran up ready to spike but the blockers came to stop me. To get past I made it look like I was going to spike but I actually used a feint to score the point.

The game continued with us taking the lead like in the first round. The ball then went near Hayama sempai who got the ball up. Since he was the setter I went under the ball to make a set to Totsubo who then spiked it down on the other side giving us the point.

" Nice toss Daiki. "

The game went on without much issue so we won the game 25 to 12 this time.

After the match ended we then back to school. Once there we headed into the gym for a meeting.

" With the first match over we will moving on to day 2. " Ms Yama says, " Our opponent in the first round will be Yufami middle school. They have a tall player on there team this year. He is as tall as Takou. For now watch the watch the video. "

As we watch the video I notice that he always hits to the side his body is facing. To get past his blocks we can use block outs. I raise my hand to get Ms Yama's attention.

We can use a two man block to force him to use cross shots where Kagame sempai will be there to receive the ball. Tendou sempai can also help with blocking his spikes when no one's on him. Also if they use him as a decoy we can have Totsubo get the spikes that go down the middle. "

" Alright we'll go with that tommorow. I want everyone to be at their best so be sure to get a good night's sleep okay. "

" Yes ma'am "

We all headed home after that to prepare for tommorow.
