While Hadrian returned to Ketterdam to and find Inej missing,following the trail,they found Inej met with Tante Heleen,who is the owner of The Menagerie, a prominent brothel in Ketterdam.Now the problem is she was previous owner of Inej and

she is manipulative and calculated. She nearly tricked Inej into killing Arken,who was on of the key witness for trapping General Zlatan.

Hadrian and Kaz were rushing to find Arken Visser, also known as The Conductor, was a smuggler who in the past transported people through the Fold with the use of a train.

They managed to get there in time to prevent Inej Ghafa from murdering him,Hadrian disarmed her and made sure to knock out Arken.

While Kaz calmly explained"We need Arken alive our way to get General."

Inej confused asked"Him?"

Hadrian nodded and replied"Yes,we had convinced

people that we need Arken to get us to the other side of the Fold.Heleen knew it.She was using you to sabotage our mission.Also we found out General Zaltan is going contact him and make deal.He plans on killing the Alina Starkov,before she could become a skilled Sun summoner."

Inej slowly took in the information and muttered"I am going to kill Hasleen,for this."

Hadrian waved it off and replied"She is already taken care off,she owned a lot of money to us.So we simply called in all the debts.Hasleen is not running to save herself from being a pauper."

Kaz and Inej smirked at that,Hadrian soon made sure to put up his glamour,so Arken didn't recognize him and modified the idiots memory,if he did.

While Kaz went on to wake up Arken,Kaz was able to convince him to work with them.They were now on the way to train,Arken used to sneak people through the fold.

Kaz narrowing his eyes at Arken said"I didn't hire you simply to get us across the Fold.

You're with us because you used to smuggle Grisha out of the Little Palace, and that's the location of our target."

Arken was in the business of doing it,but he lost it after Hadrian came into the picture,because like his lover Nina,Hadrian wanted the Grisha to choose whether they wanted to fight or not.

Also the Grisha now had safe haven to go live,of they didn't want to fight and they could also join other divisions like Healing,Weapons making,Information...etc

Arken sighed said"It is not easy,I have lost touch with the person,who used to get me in.I don't know if we could get in through the previous root.So it seems like a reasonable juncture to abandon this whole Sun Summoner plan."

Kaz frowned and replied"We're in this now.And I know what a million kruge means to me.What does it mean to you?"

Inej already was free answered"A way to a nice life."

Jesper shrugged and added"Fun. Like, at least a few months."

Arken seeing everyone was agreeing reluctantly said" Retirement."

Arken then looking at everyone,with a serious tone said"To cross, I'll need 20 pounds of alabaster coal.A peck of Majdaloun jurda.Uh, not the kind from Kerch. It's too weak.And, uh… a goat.Now, we meet in the dead of night."

They nodded,but in reality all of them followed Arken,they saw him meet up with General Zaltan,as Inej said"So he really fell for our trap."

Hadrian nodded and he was able to listen to there deal through the listening charm he placed on Arken.After hearing about the signed agreement between these two,he decided to steal it.
