Chapter 28

Alina eyes were puffy with all the crying and she was following Hadrian out of the tent and into the late-afternoon sun.They followed down a low hill to the road where black coach was already waiting, surrounded by a ring of mounted Grisha Etherealki and flanked by lines of armed cavalry. Two of Hadrian's gray-clad guards,who were Polina and Pavel waited by the door to the coach,but there was trick these soldier all were Black Dragon members and Hadrian made sure to put a notice me not charm on Zoya and Him,because if the Fjerda or Shu spies notice them chances are the attack won't happen.

Zoya and a Hadrian gesturing her to get in and whsipered"I know you hate it, but in a few hours' time, every Fjerdan spy and Shu Han assassin will know what happened on the Fold, and they'll be coming for you. Our only chance is to get you to Os Alta and behind the palace walls before anyone else realizes what you are. Now, please get in the coach."

Alina seeing how serious Hadrian was nodded and got in with Zoya and him following behind her.The coach was expanded slightly,allowing Polina and Pavel the inferni twins to join in.

The coach had stopped and Alina looked around in confusion asked"Are we—,"but Hadrian beside her clapped his hand over her mouth and put a finger to his lips.

The coach door flew open and a soldier ducked his head in and said "There's a fallen tree across the road,But it could be a trap. Be alert and —" He never finished his sentence. A shot rang out and he was quickly pulled into coach, Suddenly, the air was full of panicked cries and the teeth-rattling sound of rifle fire as a volley of bullets struck the coach.

Hadrian yelled"Get down!" yelled at beside me, shielding Alina.

While Zoya peering outside whispered"Fjerdan's"

Hadrian nodded turned to Polina and Pavel beside him and said"Go with her. You take this side. We'll take the other. At all costs, defend the coach.I will create cover for everyone."

Hadrian pulled a large knife from his belt and handed it to Alina as said "Stay close to the floor and stay quiet."

The Grisha waited with the guards, crouching by the windows, then at Hadrian's signal from they leapt from either side of the coach, slamming the doors behind them.

Hadrian with stomp on the ground created wall of earth help in defending them from shooting,while Zoya was beside him started launching large streams of fire and seeing an opening both Zoya and Polina jumps out and shoot continuous streams of fire from her fists,or legs. These streams can be widened to create flame-thrower that burnt alive some Fjerda dumb enough to rush at them.

While Polina used the enchanted cloak to produce blue transparent shield that blocked the volley of bullets.Zoya then saw one of the Fjerdan sneak into the coach door trying to open it,he was a man with a wild and bearded look,but she quickly blasted him with jet of compressed air shot from her hands causing him to be thrown into a nearby tree,after that she quickly burnt him with torrent of flames.

Hadrian takes 3 rocks from the ground and makes them hover over his palm,while heating the rocks up to the point where they become lava and forms a five-pointed shuriken with it.

Hadrian creates a small hole in earth wall spotting two Fjerda trying to ambush them,he launches five-pointed lava shuriken at them killing them instantly.

Then seeing others are at certain distance,he lifted his sleeve up showing the Ten rings,which activated generating an aura of blue, purple, and transparent energy currents around them while an aura of blue and purple dim light ran through the veins of his arms.

Hadrian soon saw the group readying their guns,Hadrian then with a punching motion fired the ten rings as projectiles, emitting multiple concussive energy blasts by hurling the rings at them ,with each punch killing many Fjerdan's,who are taken out by surprise.They quickly return back to Hadrian upon him calling them back telepathically.

Once again not giving them time to recover,he hurls the rings at some of the Fjerdan,who we're trying to retreat,as the rings strikes them,killing them instantly.After hitting the enemy the rings ricochets, brutally accurate and Hadrian summons them back, docking perfectly into his arms.

While Alina scrambled to the other side of the coach, the knife held out before her seeing Fjerdan almost reach out for her leg before being blasted away by something.

Alina scared panicked and got out of the Coach to run,she saw around her, Grisha were fighting with bearded men.There was trees burst into flames, caught in the line of Grisha fire.Some of things she saw was unbelievable,she saw blue disk like things shoot out from Hadrian's hand,while Zoya was launch steams of fire like nothing this was way beyond any Grisha she had seen.
