Chapter 13 First Sail through the Fold

The King wanted results,so he decided to send Hadrian to cross the Shadow Fold.General Kirigan has come to see Hadrian as little brother was unable to change the Kings mind,so he told Hadrian to use his powers the moment he enters the Fold.Since losing a Sun summoner is not an option.Zoya and Nina wanted to come,but denied by Hadrian.

Now Hadrian was now looking at the Shadow Fold,It was just a bleak and shapeless cloud. The Fold is often labeled by its other name the Unsea intended to put soldiers and merchants at ease and encourage crossings. Animals were too noisy and easily scared for travel on the Fold, so crossings were made on sandskiffs with enormous sails that skated almost soundlessly over the dead grey sands. Traversing the Fold was the only way to provide a landlocked Ravka with critical supplies. And so skiffs were always loaded with grain, timber and raw cotton, and on the way back they would be stocked with sugar, rifles, and all manner of finished goods passing through the seaports of West Ravka.

Hadrian was in deck of the ship,it was his mission through the Shadow Fold,if this is success he planned to ask the King the chance to create a small group of Grisha combined from every order to do certain special missions.

Thr Captain looking all the crew said"Until we reach the western dry docks, you are to remain at your station. Do not- I repeat, do not- leave the skiff during the crossing."

Then she signals to a Squaller,who fill sails fill with wind, the skiff creaks and leaps forward.

Hadrian stares out into the Fold as the wind picks up.They soon plunge into the Fold,then everything becomes dark. Welcome to the Unsea or other wise known as The Shadow Fold.

The Captain speaks up"Marker one."

A soldier from thr First army asked"How many more are there?"

The Captain looking nervous replied"Thirty seven."

Things move in the shadows,they growl and lurk,these Creatures shriek and some sort of thunder rumbles. The corpses of old ships and trees pass by. Along the skiff, people cock their guns.

These creatures are called Volcra have long, dirty claws, leathery wings, and rows of razor-sharp teeth. When wounded, they bleed black.

The Squaler looking at Hadrian said"Now might be the beat time to use your powers."

Hadrian sighed lifting both hands channels much of his magic into it.

a fiery stag appear... its body luminous... slashing

through the trees... sowing light in the darkness. The

Volcra wilt in its wake, but more replace them,

sweeping down in waves. Still, the stag charges on. The

light expands. The fold is lit up and blazing with it,t he remaining

Volcra flee, drifting across or are blasted by the light killing them.The light ebbs. The stag's luminous body flickers

The crew was actually amazed seeing this,thus the legend started.The Shadow Fold actually cleared up giving Skiff the clear path as Hadrian yelled"We have to move,I can't keep the going for a long time."

The Squaller broke out of her daze quickly used her powers to push the Skiff forward.Some the other Squaller's came to assistance thus making easy out West Ravka.

But what Hadrian didn't know spies would alert everyone about this development,when enemies heard first about Hadrian they did think much after all he is just a boy in their eyes.So they did send multiple assassins,but none of them came back.So only thing they thought at the time was Royal family and Little Palace is guarding the Sun summoner tightly.But the reality was Hadrian captured these assassin after dosing them with truth potion knew who was coming after him.Now they know this was not a little boy,but someone to take out quickly otherwise they will have problems.
