Crown of Shadows can only be activated with the Shadow Key, When pieced together with the key, the crown allows the user to command and control shadows, and these shadows can be used to attack people.The shadows cannot attack, however, if the lights are on. A shadow can be neutralized by exposing it to light, or killed by exposing it to heated light.Although, for the former, they will reappear as soon as the light is gone.

Hadrian chuckled and muttered"An artifact that can create army of shadows with only weakness being light or fire is being used as servants for children birthday party."

Hadrian was amused seeing the Crown of Shadows a powerful artifact was used by the family of Chamberlin Locke to cast the living shadows as servants, such as serving dinner,he even had seen Harland Locke used the shadows to act out the story of Peter Pan as he read the book as a bedtime story.

The magical Dollhouse was created by Harland Locke along with the Small World Key sometime prior or during 1912 (Ian Locke was still alive at the time); under the orders of Chamberlin Locke who intended the Dollhouse to be a birthday present for Jean and Mary Locke. Chamberlin wanted to use the Dollhouse as a teaching tool in order to teach Jean and Mary the responsibilities of being a homemaker which was what all women were expected to become at the time period.

Chamberlin seriously said to his daughters"A dollhouse is a fine way to contemplate the functions of a happy family. Every young girl, of course, aspires to keep house and watch over kitchen and children...Please, Mary, I'm trusting you to use the dollhouse as an educational instrument, to learn the role of, well... A lady in her natural empire of the home..."

Hadrian shook his head and spoke"Chamberlin you forget your great great grandmother Miranda was strong and independent women she went on to fight in the war with British and even later on in her life she created a business of designing clothes which was really successful too."

Chamberlin was flustered,but he knew Jean and Mary where intelligent girls.But the problem was the society at this time didn't see girls as more than home makers,he really didn't want his daughter to be shunned by the society.

Fiona who was hearing this smiled and said"Dear let the girls do what they like,we as parents should support them to the best of our abilities."

Chamberlin gave smile and gave Fiona a nod,but that night that night, in the family living room, Jean reactivated the Dollhouse to play a prank on Chamberlin but forgets to take the key out. A spider crawls into it, which causes it to manifest in large size in the actual Keyhouse. It begins hunting down the family one by one,Ian who woke in middle of the night came across the giant spider,Ian screamed and ran away from their with spider in hot pursuit,but luck was on his side as he saw the Crown of Shadows on dinner table he quickly put it on and commanded the shadows to kill the spider,but the problem was Ian was still weak from the potions and his health had not recovered.

But his scream has alerted the others and Hadrian arrived at the scene,Hadrian saved him as thin cords shot from his hanf this time, and next moment the spider was wriggling on the floor, bound.

The shadow army finished off the spider by ripping it apart.
