Dejah was in awe hearing about potions and runes from Nuala,she could help say"The possibilities are endless."

Dejah was a scientist and could see how much this would change.She had dreams of changing Barsoom and bringing back the seas.She looked at Hadrian with a slightly pleading look and asked"Can you teach me?"

Hadrian wasn't sure,but then nodded and replied"You will have to sign a magical contract not to give this information to anyone else."

Dejah was slightly shocked and said"But this could help everyone and change whole Barsoom's fate."

Hadrian sighed and replied"If it falls into the wrong hands it could also cause a lot of problems."

Dejah wanted to retort,but after thinking more about it.She understood this would practically cause more issues too,if it falls into the wrong hands.

Dejah shook off such thoughts and said"I agree with your demands,but I want to know more about how you are conjuring or transfiguring things,I mean these should not be scientifically possible."

Hadrian sighed and explained"The study of magic is not a science, it is not an art, and it is not a religion. Magic is a craft. When we do magic, we do not wish and we do not pray. We rely upon our will and our knowledge and our skill to make a specific change to the world."

Dejah and even Nuala were making sure to give their entire attention to Hadrian,as he continued"This is not to say that we understand magic, in the sense that physicists understand the  particles . Or perhaps they don't  fully understand . In any case, we do not and cannot understand what magic is, or where it comes from, any more than a carpenter understands why a tree grows. He doesn't have to. He works with what he has.But with magic it is much more difficult and much more dangerous."

Dejah nodded slightly understanding what Hadrian explained,while Nuala got the basic gist of it.

Also Nuala could tell Dejah was getting interested in Hadrian and being a royalty multiple partners were thing,but it was not very common.So Nuala didn't found anything wrong with it,also the Alliance between Hypos and Bethmora would be strengthened a lot by this marriage.

While Hadrian then decided to break the news about Keepers to Dejah,who was shocked and that's when it hit her.As she whispered"So it was them,they gave the weapon to Sab Than."

Hadrian agreed with her assessment,while Nuala asked"I am sure they wanted you dead because you found something that shouldn't be found."

Dejah frowned and replied"It is the Ninth Ray,I built it myself.I am sure they had a hand in it failing,when I presented it to my father."

Hadrian nodded and replied"They seem to be very keen of seeing you die and Sab Than seems to be just a pawn in that game."

Dejah nodded,while Nuala now had an idea and said"I guess they picked Sab Than because he is easy to control him,after all he seems to be a brute,who can't think for himself."

Dejah chuckled and replied"That summarizes Sab Than so well."
