YOUNG MISS?

Dr Jia actually prepared herself for any situation but not this jaw dropping event.

It was a girl in Kim Adrian's room. Is the universe trying to play a trick on her or what? she wondered.

She turned to look at the culprit, Adrian, as he stood by the bedside emotionlessly. He looked a little disheveled unlike the usual composed Adrian she knew.

His shirt was untucked, sleeves were folded up and his silver hair looked as if he has dragged his hands through it severally but his eyes still remained as cold as ever.

He turned to look at her and she quickly composed herself but she still had her doubts.

"You" the middle aged woman pointed her fingers at him, "Tell me you're not Kim Adrian" she muttered as she walked up to him and inspected his face to see if he was an imposter.

Adrian sighed, he raked his hands through his hair again with fraustration written all over his face. "Fine, if saying that will make you quickly attend to her then I'll say it" he paused, "I'm not Kim Adrian" he muttered again.

Dr Jia was still shocked. She knew it was childish to say that the person here was an imposter but she had no other choice. He looked the same but his character was contradicting.

"Now will you hurry up and attend to her. She was forced to inhale a drug, I don't know the effects but when I found her she was already unconscious and I think she has a few injuries on her body too" he explained.

Dr Jia finally walked up to her to inspect her. The girl was wearing a white plain gown. She looked pale and fragile and her eyes were tightly shut. The only way you would know that she was alive was by the slight movement on her chest.

There were a few wounds on her head, elbow, arms but when Dr Jia looked at her neck, she saw the hand prints of a man like they wanted to strangle her.

"Where was she attacked?" she inquired.

"At a party" he gave his short but simple reply.

Dr Jia looked at her again, 'So she was attacked at a party but why is her gown plain? unless.... ' and she turned to him.

"Adrian don't tell me you were the one who changed her" she asked with wide eyes.

"My sister" he replied nonchalantly and she sighed.

She quickly carried out her task. She gave her a drip, cleaned her wounds and inspected her if there was any other complication. When she was sure that the girl was fine, she turned to him.

"Take care of her and make sure she eats properly. Also ensure that young miss takes her drugs." she advised and left the room not without flashing him a teasing smile.

Young miss?

That position was only held by his sister and future wife but he didn't ponder on it that much since he knew that she was also called young miss in her home.

He glanced at the girl again and sighed. Only God knows how much he was worried.

His father had told him to keep an eye on her and he did, infact throughout the party, his eyes never left her once. He saw her dancing with Lin Dari and he still didn't move until he saw her walking towards the washroom.

At first he was unbothered until he realized that she has been there for a really long time. He wondered how long it would take for a lady to use the washroom.

He still didn't move until he found the whole scenario suspicious. He decided to just go in search for her incase she was facing any trouble.

The hallway which she entered had different washrooms so he couldn't figure out which one she was in. He wanted to start opening them one by one just to look for her when something caught his sharp silver eyes.

From where he stood, he couldn't make out what it was but as he walked closer he saw that it was a diamond earrings, the same one she wore and then he tried unlocking the door but found out that it was locked from the inside.

Now, there were no two ways about it, he knew she was in trouble. He couldn't look for a way to open the door so he stepped back and kicked the door open.

And looking at the scene before his eyes, he didn't know why but the only thing he could think of was blood.

Yes, to shed the blood of those bastards. The bulky man strangling her seemed to have noticed the intruder and looking at his eyes he could see the killing intent in his silver eyes. He quickly let go of her neck and the girl fell unconscious.

Before the man could start the fight, a kick landed on his stomach and he was sent flying across the room. He hit his head on the hard tile and blood gushed out from his head, he fainted immediately.

Adrian wanted to kill him but when he got a whiff of the strange smell, he quickly picked up the girl and rushed out before it affected him and signalled for his men to take care of the scene inside the washroom. Ofcourse they understood what the boss meant, he wanted them to torture the two men mercilessly until they begged for their own death because at that case, death will be more comforting to them.

Adrian looked at the sleeping girl once again and took a seat on a sofa by the bed. He picked up the diamond earrings and looked at it intently as if studying a priceless work of art.

He didn't know she was smart enough to leave it by the door. And he knew she must have been in there for a long time. When he got there he found one of the men half dead and he knew it was her doing. He wondered if she would have been able to fight off the second man if she had not inhaled the drug.

She's not as fragile as she portrayed herself to be. She was more interesting than he thought.

Raking his hands through his hair once again, he closed his eyes and leaned his head on the chair. A blurry picture of a very little girl flashed in his head. She was his best friend when he was young and he loved her so much until one day she stopped visiting him and he wasn't allowed to see her either. When he asked his father, his father told him that she was dead and that's where the disaster began.

Being a young boy at that time, he couldn't handle it when he found out that he would never get to see her face or hear her voice again. He wanted to be alone, if his best friend was taken away from him that means anyone could leave at anytime.

He prevented people from coming into his room because he didn't want them to contaminate the things she has touched. To him, his room was the only memory he had of her and he didn't want anything disrupting it.

His parents thought that he would outgrow it but it never happened. He distanced himself from everyone because he felt that once he gets too close to people, then letting them go will be the hardest part.

He looked so forlorn as he sat at the chair with his eyes closed. Gone was the majestic, dark and cold ice king rather it was replaced by an abandoned puppy.

"How long are they planning to keep you away from me Ara?" he whispered into the night.

Who prefers the abandoned puppy to the cold iceberg king?
