MERELY COOPERATING WITH YOU

Adrian wordlessly stared at her before extending his hand and using his thumb to graze past her red lips. He continuously rubbed them and Kiaraa fretted, confused by his actions.

After a while of endless rubbing, Adrian looked down at his work and felt satisfied seeing her rosy lips, devoid of any lipstick.

To hell whoever said he should control his sharp tongue whenever he was around her. This girl was just too impish and her actions called for the poison in his tongue.

"For a moment, I thought your lips were being attacked by thousands of red lipstick. It won't faze me though, seeming that you're such a trouble maker.

"And as for why I'm helping you, her highness seemed too weak and stupid when she saw death at the party and tried to leap into it like a casual dive in the swimming pool.

"I took pity on you and decided to help after all it's not every day you get to see a free exhibition of stupidity. Then, you came to me and asked for help so I'm merely cooperating with you."

He shrugged his shoulders casually and stared at Kiaraa who was now spilling fireballs at him with her eyes.

She stood astonished by his impertinent remark but she composed herself. This wasn't the first time he was trampling on her ego and she was somewhat used to it. She drew out a haughty laugh after that.

"You're merely cooperating with me?" She twirled a finger in his broad chest in circles before looking up at him.

"Mr. Kim, your answer seems vague... or wait! don't tell me you have fallen for my beauty and endless charms and so you decided to tag along with the excuse of 'merely cooperating with me'. I won't be surprised if that was the case though, I'm a hot cake you know and I bet you that ninety-eight percent of the men here are already checking me out."

She pointed out and tilted her head to the side to show him what she was talking about.

Adrian's cold gaze swept around the parking lot and his insides boiled in fury. He found out that almost all the men, both older and the one's around their age were sweeping their lustful gazes over Kiaraa.

Some whistled and praised her features in Spanish while some even forgot to close their mouth after gaping at her with starstruck gazes.

The women all threw harsh glares at her for taking all the attention from the men. They eyed the girl who seemed to treat them like mere flies as she stared nonchalantly at the person in front of her.

Kiaraa smirked in satisfaction seeing their reactions. From the corner of her eyes she could make out some bulky men lifting some things into a room at the far end of the parking lot that was heavily guarded but her gaze was solely focused on the person in front of her, watching his shift in expressions.

The men immediately cowered out in fear when they sensed the killing intent in the eyes of a certain teenager. His face was dark and grim and his wrath became more apparent as he shot them an icy glare.

He wasn't the one to get angry easily but his ethics were immediately thrown in the bin whenever Kiaraa came into the picture.

Turned out the two of them both had unhidden effects on each other.

He took deep breaths and finally calmed down. He stared at the girl in his arms who seemed to be enjoying the show and he felt a headache on its way.

"Too much self-flattery is dangerous for the soul." His face was now devoid of any expression and ice was still laced in his deep voice. "Shorty, let's go and watch your steps."

He slowly guided her towards the entrance and Kiaraa fumed, 'Who the hell is he calling short?'

She looked up at him stubbornly and sneered without realizing that even with her heels she couldn't reach his chin.

"You should thank your heavens that I decided to go soft on you today if not, you would have been on the ground by now, and when I mean on the ground I mean six feet under me."

"I dare you to repeat that."

"Oh don't test my patience, Mr. Kim. I'm a fiery dragon you know."

"Hmm, and I would love to watch the fiery dragon trip and fall just because she stubbornly refused to watch her steps..."

The two continued their childish banter as they walked unaware of the amused gazes that the people who heard them threw at them.

A particular old couple gazed at them and the old lady smiled warmly. "Kids these days," she sighed, "Reminds me of when you were courting me back then." She stared at her husband who had grey hairs on his head and he chuckled, patting his wife's arm softly.
