DO YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND?

As they walked out, he couldn't help but feel uneasy when he noticed the lingering gazes men threw at Kiaraa. When he felt that he could no longer handle the frustration, he hastily pulled out his suit jacket before pulling her into his arms.

Kiaraa was perplexed by his sudden abrupt action. She tilted her head upwards with a visage of confoundment and looked at him with countless questions popping out of her eyes. Just then, she felt a warm feeling around her body and that's when she realized that she had just been wrapped in his suit jacket.

"Do you have to wear such tight clothing?" he asked and there was an unhidden warmth in his usual cold eyes which puzzled her.

Kiaraa averted her gaze momentarily and let out an awkward laugh. She looked back up at him again but this time with a full aura of confidence.

"Since we'll be together today I wanted to wear something that matches with your outfit," she replied and flashed him a menacing smile and he couldn't help but feel uneasy as he wondered how he was going to survive when she was born to be a fox.

He pulled her closer into his arms and expertly wrapped his arm around her slim waist and looked down at her with a gaze whose meaning was buried deep in his striking silver eyes.

Kiaraa's body stiffened as her gaze traveled down to his hands wrapped around her tiny waist. Her lips trembled and a conflicted feeling sparge through her being. She stared up at him and blinked cutely which was so unlike her and her hands instinctively traveled to his hair which was gelled backwards.

She touched the unruly strand which fell over his eyes. Her smooth soft hand came in contact with his skin and she flinched involuntarily. Adrian's breathing hitched as the place which her hands brushed past became hot in an instant.

His breathing became uneven and his lips were held in a thin line. Sensing the discomfort in him, Kiaraa quickly redrew her hand and stared at his bright silver eyes which for the first time now held so many expressions and not a single one she could decipher.

She was lost in its glow as she held his gaze for three heartbeats.

Realizing that she was lost in the moment for such a long while, she quickly averted her eyes only to be met with the scorching gazes of the raging passers-by who they had just fed a mouth full of dog food with their nearly intimate section. Who would want to see such a public display of affection in broad daylight anyways?

Due to their deep gaze, her face was tainted with a deep shade of red and Adrian was beyond amused. So the aloof queen still had this shy and cute side?

Kiaraa quickly recovered with her face regaining its original color as she masked her shyness and her red lips curled up in a mischievous grin.

Her face beamed, "Mr. Kim, do you have a girlfriend?" her voice held a tone of playfulness and Adrian raised a brow at her, partly because of her question but mainly because of her repetition of the name Mr. Kim.

Her mischievous smile never left her face as she continued, "... because I think I'm getting jealous of her."

Her wide grin spread across her pretty face reaching up to her eyes as she placed her slender arms on his shoulder and once again ignored the gazes of the passers-by.

Adrian's eyes narrowed to slit. He didn't need the heavens to tell him about her nature. He knew that every action, every word, every smile or laugh had a hidden meaning behind them.

With his hand still holding her slim waist firmly, he used his free hand to pinch the space between his brows before staring back down at her after realizing something.

"Who's watching us?" his deep voice reached her ears subtly and she frowned.

'Must he know everything? His silver eyes are really sharp,' she huffed inwardly.

She looked up and glared at him but immediately gave up in her attempt to intimidate him as it had no use whatsoever.

"Fine," she huffed as she grumbled, "I don't know who's staring but aside from the people around us my instinct is telling me that someone or some people are staring at us."

He sighed, "Have you always been this vigilant all your life?" he asked softly with a hint of pity in his eyes. He knew that she was not always cunning and mischievous but circumstances turned her into the lady she was today. If he was given the chance, he wanted to know every little detail of her down to the number of times she breathes in a day.

Kiaraa nodded in affirmation. "Amongst all my siblings, father trained me more... I think he was trying to prepare me for this," her voice trailed towards the end noticing the loophole in her statement. If she was trained then why couldn't she handle it now?

Ever since childhood, she has always viewed her father as a calculative person. All his actions were carefully schemed before carrying them out and she tried hard to learn about his calculative ways. Although it worked for her at some point but lately, she found herself taking some impulsive actions.

Adrian stared at her conflicted look and he finally let go of his restraints and the hidden tenderness in his eyes finally bloomed like a beautiful flower in spring. He held her closely and carefully guided her out of the mall not noticing the pair of eyes following them discreetly.
