A MASQUERADE BALL

"Hi family, I'm home"

Lili's vibrant voice reverberated in the vast living room with arms spread apart, taking in the pleasure of finally being at home.

Kiaraa walked out with an apple in her hand and looked at the slim beautiful figure clothed with a black crop top designed with sequins, high waist jeans with a denim jacket, and black sneakers.

She was bare-faced but she still looked stunning and carried an ambiance of queendom.

"Hey Sis, welcome home," she smiled gently at Lili.

"Hey, is this the way you welcome your sister who has been away for a long time," Lili pretended to be angry and flicked her long and silky wavy blonde hair.

Her hair was naturally black but as a k-pop idol she had to dye her hair frequently which gave her a new, stunning look with every single comeback Ultraviolet made.

She wasn't padded with high-end clothes and makeup but she still managed to pull off that celebrity look. She's a celebrity she'll look good in anything.

"BIG SISTER LILI," Kiyomi came rushing by as she jumped on Lili and giggled.

"Now that's how to greet a big sister. Kiyomi cutie, I missed you," Lili replied and she shot a glare at Kiaraa which made Kiaraa reluctantly hug her.

"Satisfied now?" Kiaraa mumbled in her chest.

"I'm not because this could be classified as a pity hug," she replied and Kiaraa laughed at her childishness.

"Where's mother?" she asked as she signaled for the maids to take her luggage in.

"Mum's cooking."

Their mother doesn't cook frequently because they had countless chefs to do that and not to mention that Lili had a large chain of five-star restaurants all around the world but today she insisted on cooking since both her daughters would be around.

"Hey mama," Lili greeted as she went to her mother and hugged her from behind. She turned and smiled at her daughter.

"Oh Arin my child, so glad you're home. You look thinner but don't worry momma's gonna cook a lot of dishes for you and you'll be chubby in no time."

Lili felt delighted because for the first time since she stepped into the house, someone finally called her by her real name which was Arin but her mother's words choked her.

Kiaraa tried to stifle a burst of laughter at her mother's remarks but it didn't go unnoticed by Lili who turned and shot her another glare.

"Uhm... no mother, you know I need to maintain my figure so you don't need to feed me till I get fat," Lili shot back and her mum turned with a worried expression on her face.

"Oh no darling but you're looking too thin," she said and Kiaraa gave her a supportive nod just to rile Lili up.

And as expected, yet another glare and she couldn't hold her laughter in this time.

"Why do I have two daughters when none of them can help me with my cooking?" her mother asked as she turned to look at the both of us with a spatula in her hand.

" It's your job"

" I can't cook"

Lili and Kiaraa both answered at the same time.

Kiaraa cleared her throat and turned to Lili.

"How is he?" she whispered.

"How's who?" Lili whispered back. Kiaraa rolled her eyes and folded her arms.

"Oh don't try to feign ignorance big sis, you know who I'm talking about, so how's he?" Kiaraa asked again with raised brow and Lili sighed knowing that her little sister has caught her in the act.

" Well..." she began, "I haven't heard from him for a long time, we both have busy schedules and you know from the nature of my job, I'm not allowed to date anyone since the whole of South Korea already sees me as their potential girlfriend," she explained and they both sat on the kitchen counter.

Kiaraa glanced at her mother who was oblivious to the conversation they were having before adding.

"Dad is taking me to a ball this evening, every prominent family in Seoul will be there, I'm sure he'll be there as well," Lili nodded absentmindedly.

"I'm sure the media will be there as well so I'm not going," and Kiaraa laughed at her words.

"Do you think if the media would be there, dad will take me there? he's just going to introduce me as his daughter to a few of his business associates to let the enemy know that he still has an offspring so by the looks of it they will want to attack but I'll be in Austin by then," she explained briefly.

"But wouldn't that put you in danger, why does that old man like playing tricks?" Lili asked concernedly.

Kiaraa showed a weak smile, "It's a masquerade ball, so there's nothing to worry about, besides I'll be in Austin and that's like the last place they'll look if they want to search for me."

"But how are you sure he is going to be there?" she asked again.

"Well ... let's see, he is the heir of the Jang family, so according to predictions he will be there because the party is held in his honor, just have some fun and enjoy the party, I know it's been a while you went to a party," Kiaraa smiled, trying to lighten her mood.

"Don't forget that I attend award shows a lot, so basically no, it's not been long since I attended a party."

"Oh..... well, let's just see how tonight goes," she smiled sheepishly.

"GIRLS LUNCH IS READY" their mother announced indicating that they should come and help her. Lili gave Kiaraa one last nod and she flashed a reassuring smile at her.

Truth be told, Kiaraa felt uneasy. Deep down even though she tried to mask her emotions, she still felt anticipation as to what tonight is going to be like.

Can't wait for the party?
