Guardian of the Pacific: The Incredible Adventures of the Giant Turtle

The boy woke up as a giant turtle in the Pacific Rim. This is a story about a guy with a good moral compass. If you want to read how MC destroys cities and sinks ships, then this fanfic is not for you. There will be no magical transformation back into a human. This is my first fanfic. English is not my native language, so I used a translator. In the first chapters, I used GPT for some paragraphs of text, but the result is not satisfactory. Then everything is manual work. I do not own the rights to the universe and characters in this story.

"What's wrong with you? Why did you start coughing?" I asked Harry. The training went quite well. I could already use sign language well, but lately Harry has been feeling unwell.

"Is it because of me? Did you check the radiation level near me?" Although I did not feel that I was emitting any harmful radiation, I had to dispel my doubts.

"Don't worry, it's just a cold. I've been living on the street with you for a couple of years now, like some kind of beggar," answered Harry. We have been together long enough and I could already tell when he was lying to me. It seems that his health is really not all right, but he did not want to tell me about it.

Over the years, we have traveled a lot around the world. We made a little bag that I could carry it in, it wasn't as dangerous as holding him in my hand. First we visited all the Mediterranean countries and Harry told me everything he knew about them. He showed a map of the world and told us where we were. It was a lot of fun. It's always good to have a friend to talk to while traveling.

He tried to teach me everything he knew about the world. We were limited by sign language, but I actually understood everything he was saying.

Sometimes I left it on the shore and went to the ocean in search of radioactive waste. He couldn't get there with me for obvious reasons and I had to do it despite Harry's protests. He didn't want to let me go, saying we didn't have much time. Although I didn't understand why he was in such a hurry to do it. During this time he could replenish his supplies for our journey.

Harry told me a lot about what was going on in the world. He talked about the fight against the Kaiju and about Marshall's success as the commander-in-chief of the entire Jaeger project. Over the years, he led a successful fight against the Kaiju and brought new technologies to the Jaegers. Harry talked about the recent discovery of a new rocket fuel based on the blue blood of the Kaiju. It was said that this fuel could take humanity into space and provide the planet with resources from our solar system. It was Marshall who was the author of the idea, and under his leadership this fuel was invented. This allowed him to lead the Jaegers program.

There were rumors that new Jaegers were being created that could fly and react faster to Kaiju attacks, but this was not officially confirmed. But despite this, people were tired of working during martial law. There were riots and strikes all over the world, where people asked for the return of the old model of governance.

3 years passed like this. We visited almost all the countries that had access to the ocean. His health continued to deteriorate to the point where he could not leave his tent. We were on the ocean coast of the east coast of the United States. I lay next to his tent and looked inside. I have already guessed what this is leading to. Harry was dying.

"I'm sorry for that, my friend. I thought I could spend more time with you," Harry said panting. "You are already talking like a human being. I'm sorry, but I forgot to send a letter to the government to give you human rights." Harry joked.

"Every year your jokes get worse," I told him, getting up a little from my lying position. He could barely turn his head in my direction to see me.

"HA-HA" - cough - "HA-HA" - cough. "Tell me, where are you from?" Harry asked.

"You're almost dead and you still care who I am?" I got a little mad at him. He's asked me about it sometimes over the years, but I've always ignored him. And here he is almost dead, he still cannot satisfy his curiosity.

"You're right. What does it matter to me now?" His face showed disappointment, but he calmed down after a few minutes. "You can't even imagine what thoughts appear in your head before death!"

"Calm down, I don't think you should worry. You have lived a good life." I tried to calm him down.

We spent several days like that. He refused to call the doctors, but he told someone on the phone about his condition. One morning he just didn't wake up.

Losing a friend was very difficult for me. We spent a lot of time together, constantly making fun of each other. But that time has come to an end.

After some time, people in military uniform came to us. They took Harry.

"What's the situation with the Kaiju?" I asked the soldier what had been bothering me lately. During the trip, I caught up on the latest developments from Harry, but this man was in the military and had more information than the television Harry watched between studies.

"You've learned to speak well. Looks like Mr. Harry did a good job with you. The situation is getting worse with each attack. The Kaiju are getting bigger and more frequent. Every battle comes with casualties and damage. Jaegers break and pilots die. We're still winning though," the military replied.

I did not answer him, but simply went to the ocean, I was not in the mood to talk anymore. I needed to get back to the Pacific Ocean. The period of victory of the Jaegers is over. Over the years I have often seen various posters and heard stories from Harry about the heroes of the Jaeger pilots successfully fighting the Kaiju.

POV: Raleigh, 2019 (more than 6 years since the start of the war)

We were sent to the city of Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. A Kaiju of the third category was sailing there. They gave him the name "Dog". My brother and I quickly got together and hurried to our Gipsy Jaeger.

"This Kaiju is a bit smaller than the Yamarashi, but it's still a third category, so don't relax. This Kaiju has the same size legs and paws, so I don't think it's upright. That means it's faster than normal Kaiju. The city has been warned, and the people have been evacuated. We think the Kaiju is actually heading for Guadalajara. Your job is to intercept it on the shore and prevent it from going deep into the continent," Choi gave a quick briefing while we put on our costumes.

"Don't joke around there. That Kaiju can easily ignore you, so don't let him get past you," said Marshal who had just entered the command center.

"Yes sir! We can handle it!" My brother answered when we were already sitting in our Yeger. Our Gipsy was picked up by several aircraft of a new type, powered by Kaiju blood. They had two engines on each side and could take off vertically. From the nozzle of the engines of these planes, a blue flame burst out. It only took three small planes to lift a giant like Jaeger. They picked up the robot with ease and headed from Alaska all the way to Mexico. This fuel was just phenomenal.

"When are you going to make a jetpack for our Gipsy? I already want to fly myself!" I asked the boss, watching these small planes carrying us.

"You'll ask engineering when you get back," Marshall replied. He worried about each pilot and did not allow them to be distracted while working.

We arrived just in time to intercept the Kaiju. We stood on the edge of the city, warming up our plasma cannon. After some time, Kaiju began to emerge from the water, a small tsunami hit the sandy shore of the city. He stood on his four legs and looked at the Jaeger. It had a long and thin tail, thick spikes on its back, and six eyes that glowed blue. His face was elongated and with a large mouth full of teeth.

The Kaiju was tense and ready to pounce on the Jaeger at any second. The Jaeger could not go deep into the water because it became slower in the water. The Kaiju could get around him and head into the city, and the Jaeger wouldn't have caught up to him if he was waist-deep in water.

We made the first move and quickly fired a cannon at him. The tip of our hand glowed blue and it was as if three electric arcs converged to one point on the tip of the gun, after which a beam of blue plasma shot out in the direction of the Kaiju.

The Dog suddenly ducked to the side and began to run away from the Jaeger. The plasma beam from our cannon missed and hit the water behind the beast.

"Shit! He's running away from us," Yancy yelled. We had to disable the cannon and run after him. The dog was already far away, and we tried to catch up with him, running along the shore on the sand. Suddenly the beast turned sharply and in two jumps it reached the city and broke into it, trampling the houses under its feet.

"I warned you not to let him pass you!" Marshal shouted over the communicator.

"Sir! Even if we went into the water and fought him with our fists, the result would be the same," I answered him.

"Get to work, don't let him destroy the city!"

We ran after Kaiju deep into the city. Puerto Vallarta was not a tall city. There weren't many tall buildings here, so the Kaiju had nowhere to hide. The city was built near the mountains and from the shore you could see most of the city. We constantly saw him and ran after him. But he ignored us and continued to trample the city. When we caught up with him, he quickly turned around and hit us with his tail, knocking us off our feet.

"Help is on its way," Choi informed us. This guy had been behind the monitors at the base since before our first drift, and he often talked nonsense, but this one was not his usual joke.

"Why weren't we told about this earlier?" my brother Yancy was indignant.

"Because we didn't think he would notice the Kaiju and swim to you!" Choi replied.

"What?" I was very confused by this answer. My brother and I turned our heads to the ocean and saw a large tsunami rolling toward the shore. The wave was big enough to submerge coastal streets by a meter under water. Far from the shore, we saw a dark shadow emerge from the ocean and move quickly towards us, breaking the water in front of it.

"Is this another Kaiju? Where is the help you were talking about? Is that the first Kaiju category 4? What size is it?" Panicking, we immediately began to bombard the command center with questions.
