Untold Truth Part 1

A young man was rushing against the wind that was tearing apart the water and glass. It was so hard, really hard but he can't stop.

The young man felt taking each step was harder than lifting several weights in the gym.

He was carrying a strange box in his hand. Going on the wind seemed like suicide. His clothes were getting torn apart by the sharp wind and even his skin wasn't durable against such wind.

As he felt weakness all over his body, his mind went blank for a moment.

In this blank period, a memory came to his mind.

It was a beautiful spring. Under the shadow of a giant tree, a young man was holding a sword in a posture that seemed quite artistic.

After holding it for a while, he felt his legs going soft. He couldn't help but slightly change his posture.

Slap!

An old man holding a stick hits his back.

"How many times do I have to say this? Don't make such a silly mistake of losing your posture. You don't have enough Mana or power magic or even a powerful background."

"You must make up for all that with your sheer hard work."

The old man shouted from the back while slapping his back once again.

"Argh! Damn it, old man! I don't want to do this kind of training. Why can't you just let me go?"

The young man shouted out angrily. But because of the fear of his old man, he still changed his posture and continued making his sword stance perfect.

"What do you know? There are monsters roaming around everywhere. If you come across a certain monster, are you just going to wait for Star Association to make a move?"

The old man shouted out angrily.

"Can't I?" The young man looked at him with a confused gaze and asked.

Seeing his look, the old man was stunned for a moment. He got lost in his own thoughts for a moment and only woke up from his grandson's voice.

"Gramps! Gramps!"

"Don't get distracted, you little brat!"

Slap!

The old man slapped him once again and angrily shook his head.

"Damn you, old man! I will get my revenge one day."

The young man grunted angrily but still continued to focus on his training. As he continued training for days and after days, he was slowly progressing but this progress was disappointing in the eyes of his grandfather.

Although he hated the hard work, he still didn't want to disappoint his grandfather. So, he practiced extra hard.

Just when he continued practicing harder and harder, he one day found his grandfather lying in a pool of blood. Fortunately, his grandfather wasn't dead. Thought that left him an incurable injury.

He asked his grandfather about the incident but he always got a single answer.

'You are not strong enough.'

At this moment, his mind suddenly jerked out of his little thoughts. The massive wind blasted him back but he stomped his foot against the ground and gritted his teeth.

"You are not stopping me here. Gramps, I got the medicine and I am coming for you. Don't die!"

He took a deep breath and his body started leaking a strange energy. It was like an aura covering his body in a purple energy.

As soon as the purple energy appeared around him, the ground beneath his foot shattered a bit.

Whoosh!

The next moment, his body moved forward at a speed faster than the wind. He crossed several meters in a single jump.

And, he didn't stop moving. He continued to move until he finally was out of breath.

But, when he raised his head, he saw a small house made out of concrete. It was quite out of the city area.

That's why he had to go out into the city and find the medicine for his grandfather.

Unfortunately, when he was returning, the storm suddenly appeared and it made it harder for him to simply move forward.

"Gramps!"

He took a deep breath and regained some of his energy before shouting and dashing toward the house.

He directly knocked out the door and when he saw his grandfather looking at him with open eyes, he sighed a breath of relief.

But, he didn't relax a bit. He opened the box and took out a strange medicine.

"Gramps, I got the medicine. Quickly, take it!"

Cough! Cough! Cough!

Just when the old man tried to speak, he coughed out blood.

"Gramps!"

The young man's eyes widened as he frighteningly rushed in front of his grandfather.

"It won't work, Shura."

The old man showed a bitter smile and shook his head.

"No, gramps! Don't say that."

The young man groaned and quickly pushed the medicine toward him. But, the old man pushed it away with his palm.

"Shura, I know my condition the best. I thought I would be able to hold on for a few more years but it seems like using my lifespan to modify that costs shortened my life."

"Gramps, please don't say that! Please don't leave me! You are the only family I have. I don't want to lose you."

Shura finally couldn't hold it anymore. He burst into tears and held his grandfather's hands while begging him.

Seeing his grandson, his face softened a bit, and he said.

"Do you know I could've lived for a few more years but I decided to sacrifice it for you?"

Thud!

When he said that, Shura's eyes widened as he backed away and fell on his butt.

Tears streamed down his face as he hoarsely asked.

"Why? Why did you do that?"

"Shura, it's not your fault. It never was. You are already eighteen years old, aren't you? It seems like it is time to tell you the truth."

The old man sighed and slowly put on a serious face as he spoke.

When he said that, Shura couldn't move. He was still weeping, blaming himself for the death of his gramps.

"Shura, eighteen years ago, your mother was pregnant with you. You don't remember your mother, do you? She was a beautiful woman and your father loved her very much."

"Your mother also moved your father. Unfortunately, our family had an enemy. This enemy can be considered immortal because we have been killing him for years but he keeps on coming back."

"And, as he continues coming back, his forces start growing more and more. Eighteen years ago, he came to find me and your father. Although he was immortal, he wasn't stronger than your father and me."

"When we defeated him, we tried to seal him instead of killing him this time. But, during this moment, he did something unacceptable to your mother."

Shura was slowly getting more and more interested in his family background. He slowly wiped away his tears and started listening seriously.

"He cursed your mother. This wasn't a normal curse. It was an extremely powerful curse that made her a living disaster. Any living being in her vicinity will slowly lose his mana and life force"

"You know that you have such a small amount of mana and no magic, right? It's not actually true. You should've been born with the highest mana level and powerful Sealing Magic and Time Magic."

"But, unfortunately, that curse sucked out your inborn mana. That in turn depleted your mana to such a level that you couldn't even awaken your magic."

Hearing this, Shura's eyes widened. He stood up and asked nervously. At this moment, he had some thoughts of his own.

"But, gramps, then why am I alive? Didn't you say that curse sucks out life force as well?"

The old man looked at his nervous face and sighed.

"As I said before, you have Sealing Magic and Time Magic that you have inherited from your father and mother. Your mother's mastery over Time Magic was amazing just like your father."

"She had developed a lot of forbidden techniques with her magic as well. One of them was Fast-Forward. This magic technique allows her to skip time to a certain future time."

"This is an extremely powerful technique that definitely helped her in some of her desperate battles but it had a powerful effect. Whenever she uses this battle, her body starts developing ten times faster based on how far she traveled."

"And, more importantly, there was already that curse in her which simply multiplied the side effects when she used it to give birth to you. Because of this, you were born with low mana and unable to awaken magic power."

Hearing his words, Shura felt conflicted as he didn't know what to say. He felt sad and a bit guilty. He clenched his fist. Maybe if he wasn't born, his mother wouldn't have to use that ability.

At this moment, his grandfather's hand moved and caught his hand. He raised his head and saw his grandfather who was looking at him with a smile and asked.

"Do you want to hear more?"
