Chapter 11 - Everyone's Enchanted

Just before Talon entered the vocals section, he had completed the quest and had already made the decision to allocate all of his ten skill points to the Singing skill.

As soon as Talon stepped into the vocal section, he felt his breath become easier, his throat open up, and his breathing deepened. He was suddenly able to control his voice with remarkable accuracy as if he had always known how to create the perfect sound, and he did.

The voice that came out of his lips astounded even him, and he thought to himself, "This is extraordinary!".

"I found a love, just right for me,"

"In your eyes, where I long to be."

"We dance beneath the moon's soft glow,"

"In this moment, our love will grow."

All eyes were instantly drawn to the stage the moment that voice was heard. It was a stunningly beautiful singing voice, one that could only be described as that of a professional. A collective murmur of surprise and admiration swept through the room. Everyone was intently focused on the performer, their expressions shifting from awe to disbelief.

"Who is he?" someone asked. "He sings so beautifully."

"I'm impressed! I didn't know he could sing like this," remarked the other. "His guitar playing is extraordinary, but his singing is pretty good too."

Alice was astonished. "Talon? How did he suddenly become so good at singing? He didn't sing this well before."

Maya watched with awe as her hands started to tremble. His voice sounded even better than she had anticipated. She was amazed and couldn't help but think to herself, "Has he been keeping his singing abilities a secret all this time? This is beyond a novice. This is stunning."

The bride clasped the groom's hand tightly, her face lighting up with a happy smile as Talon's voice filled the air.

"It's so beautiful…" she sighed.

The groom nodded in agreement, a look of admiration on his face. "You said his voice wasn't that great, right? But this one is absolutely stunning."

The bride nodded slowly, her mind racing with the possibilities. "Maybe they did this on purpose to give us a pleasant surprise?" she mused.

Talon opened his eyes, taking in the sight of the countless people staring at him in wonder and awe. The stage lights illuminated his face as if he had suddenly woken up from a dream. His fingers moved expertly over the strings of his guitar, the notes seeming to dance and swirl in the air, captivating everyone in the room. 

He could hardly believe what he was experiencing; it was a sight he never thought possible, and it filled his heart with joy and pride. He couldn't help but smile as he continued to play, feeling like a true musician at that moment.

The entire room was hushed, all eyes transfixed on the stage where Talon stood, his voice resonating through the air with an enchanting melody. As the lights dimmed, all attention was focused on the solo figure and the music he was creating. The audience was entranced and mesmerized by the beauty of the moment, their faces reflecting a myriad of emotions, from awe to wonder.

The soft illumination of the stage lights illuminated Talon's face as his hands moved gracefully over the strings of his instrument, each note reverberating deeply into the hearts of those present. It felt as if time had suspended, and everyone was captivated by the spell his captivating voice and music had cast.

When Talon strummed the final chords of the guitar, the sound gradually dissipated until it had completely faded away. A hush descended upon the room until, finally, someone set off a wave of thunderous applause that was quickly taken up by everyone in attendance.

As the audience erupted in applause, Talon felt an overwhelming sense of achievement. His heart raced with joy, and he couldn't help but smile, basking in the moment. "This is what I was meant to do," he thought, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Wow! That is incredible! Could he be a hidden talent that nobody has found yet?" they exclaimed.

"I just posted a video of him on TikTok, and I knew lots of people would love it!" others added.

Alice was infuriated, "Dammit, Talon! You had the audacity to keep this kind of skill from me? I'm going to give you a scolding once we get home!" she fumed.

"I knew he was talented, but this is beyond my expectations," Alice whispered to herself, a smile tugging at her lips.

Maya watched from a distance, her heart conflicted. She couldn't deny Talon's talent, but the complexity of her feelings made her uneasy. "Why do I feel this way?" she pondered, lost in thought.

She was still flabbergasted. She couldn't utter a single word. She looked towards her boyfriend and could sense a certain anger emanating from him.

"Uhm, are you okay?" she asked tentatively.

"Shut up, Maya!" he snapped.

The bride was deeply moved by the singing.

"This will be the most beautiful day of my life," she said, her voice full of emotion.

"Yes, of course, honey..." the groom replied with a tender smile.

"Thank you for everything," she said, her eyes shining with joy and appreciation.

The groom chuckled and added, "And I think I have a good idea to make this night even more extraordinary."

"What is that...?" she asked, curiosity and eagerness in her voice.

"Let me talk to Alice… the one who introduced you to him, Talon," he said, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Talon smiled with satisfaction when he observed the audience's enthusiastic applause for his performance. He felt like he could savor this magical moment for eternity, and he wanted more. Though he longed to sing another song, he was only permitted to perform one song, so after that, he left the stage.

But then, he noticed Alice rushing towards him as if she had something important to tell him.

"Talon… I think you should sing one more song," she said hastily.

"What? Why?" he inquired.

"The bride said that she wanted to hear their favorite song sung," she explained, "It's a special request, and they are hoping that you will grant it."

Talon immediately welcomed, "Yes... what song do they want me to sing?"

"Endless Love," she said slowly.

He asked, looking confused, "What? Endless Love? Isn't that a duet song? Do they want me to sing it myself?"

Talon had heard of the classic song Endless Love, though he couldn't recall the lyrics. Despite the fact he wasn't too familiar with the song, he was sufficiently intrigued to do it.

Alice explained, "That's a duet song, and they requested you to perform a duet with Maya. Of course, you would be playing the guitar part too. It's a special request from them."

Talon felt supremely confident to sing the song; he had heard it before, so he didn't need to commit the lyrics to memory. He could sing it along while reading the lyrics at the same time. As for playing his guitar, with his current level of skill, he could easily play the instrument with just some slight adaptation.

"Okay..." He then continued, "Has Maya accepted the offer? I'm willing to do it if she's game. I'm already familiar with her vocal range, so I'm confident I can duet well with her."

Alice nodded slowly, "I think we should wait for her decision."

Meanwhile, in the waiting room, Maya and her boyfriend were engaged in a heated argument due to the special request.

"Are you out of your mind, Maya? Are you seriously considering going up on stage alone with him? Just the two of you?" he said, his voice rising.

"This is a request from the bride and groom. It's a job. I hope you can differentiate between professional and personal matters." she answered firmly.

"Yes, I understand that this is a job, but you seem to be enjoying it, don't you? You had the nerve to confront me after you spent a week performing with him at the bar. What have you been doing with that guy?!" he said, his voice escalating.

"I just sang as usual, and he accompanied me with his guitar playing!" Maya said firmly.

"Oh really?" her boyfriend answered, a hint of incredulity in his voice. "You said he couldn't sing, but what happened? Did you secretly like him and suck his dick?"

"Shut up!" Maya shouted, her voice filled with anger. "How dare you say something like that? You should know better than to talk about me like that!"

"Get out of my life, Maya," Her boyfriend said, bitterness in his voice, as he kicked the table.

With that, he walked out with a bang and slammed the door shut.
