Chapter 5

'How can the book appear on top of my chest out of a sudden?" Evan Young had a puzzled expression on him while touching the book. But in a dark room like this, he couldn't read it anyway.

Still, he could feel that the book was the one that belonged to him. The sensation of the leather, the familiar texture and thickness, and the book-ring that holds the book together were the same as it was.

A hint of curiosity soon accompanied Evan as he fell asleep. This might not be the most comfortable bed he had, but for sure, it was better than sleeping alone at the spacious but quiet farmhouse of his.

The bustling noises in the early morning wakened Evan up on the following day.

'Looks like even in another world, the busy life in the morning is about the same.' Evan Young glanced outside of the room he was staying in and welcomed the morning's warmth. Although the breeze was chilling, there was a hint of freshness in the air.

"Good morning, Mr. Evan. Did you have a good rest yesterday?" Elric's younger sister, Elise, knocked on the door twice before coming inside to greet him. There was a bucket of hot water in her hand, which should be prepared for Evan Young to wash up.

"Good morning to you too, Elise. Have Elric and your father Eins left to work? Do you know where can I get them?" Evan said while accepting the wooden bucket from Elise. The twelve to thirteen-year-old lass look mediocre from a glance, but that might be due to her unkempt appearance.

If Evan Young judged her appearance from how beautiful her mother looked, she would be beautiful just like her mother in the next few years.

"My father and elder brother should be at the farm now. Would you like me to bring you after breakfast?" Elise offered. The sweet look on hers could charm even the lord of this land. Evan could even feel a hint of innocence in her eyes, showing how pure her mind was.

"I'll be bothering you then." Evan Young smiled.

The little lass left the room quickly, like there was something she had to tell her mother. As for Evan Young, he took the opportunity to wash his face and give his body a quick wipe. And as he reached for his jumper, the leather book once again appeared in his grasp.

'The book appeared out of the blue again? What made the leather book come and go without notice?" Evan Young pulled the book out from his jumper and tried to see if there was something inside.

And to his surprise, it seems that the content is a little more than yesterday.

On the page next to the drawing is the Information card of the goblin he killed yesterday. The information on the page was simple and was about the same as what he was told by Eins.

"The goblin's information was actually recorded inside this leather book? Who did it? Gods?" a puzzled expression can be seen on Evan Young's face. Out of curiosity, he touched the page to see if there was something weird about this information.

But to his surprise, the information was like it was there, to begin with. There's no hint that it was recently written or printed on the leathery page.

'Is there nothing el... Eh?' Evan Young was preparing to flip to the next page but found out that he couldn't get to the next page no matter how he tried.

He felt like the page was glued together, to the point it wouldn't budge.

"This is weird! Plain weird!" Evan Young thought. Placing the book back on the bed to put on his jumper, it was already gone by the time he was done putting the shirt on.

Knowing that it would take him a while to find out the real reason behind this, Evan Young decided to think about it after he had his breakfast.

Casually, he reached to the wooden handle and made his way out of the room he's shared with Elric for the night.

"Good morning, Else, and Madam..." Evan Young greets the mother and daughter pair as he steps out of the room.

But once again, he's duped as he appears in the farmhouse of his with complete darkness. The leather book had returned to his hand as he stepped out of the door.

'How? The hell? I'm back to this world again?" the confusion was genuine in his mind as Evan Young found it hard to believe he had traveled to another world and come back in a piece.

At this instant, he felt like trying to go through the door once again to see if he would return to the so-called Avene World. The magical feeling over there can be said to be an entirely new experience for Evan Young.

But as he was to reach for the door, something came up into his mind.

'Why would I go there empty-handed this time?" he thought.

He could only rely on that little swiss utility knife in his pocket on his first trip to Avene World. If he was to return there again, with nothing on him, won't that be the most foolish decision ever?

The thought made Evan Young decide to grab his laptop and check for the nearest place to get something to protect himself. And the search in the online browser immediately brought Evan Young to Springfields, a bushcraft and field sports merchandise store.

'What the... Do I really need so much to make sure I survive in the other world?' Evan Young smiled while looking at the collections of outdoor gears that exceeded what he had in mind.
