Nothing In Front Of Her.

He picked up the call and even though it was not clear what the other person on the line spoke, it could be guessed that it was not something good looking at the way his expression was turning uglier with the passing time.

By the time he hung up the call, his expression had turned terrible.

How could this happen?

He fixed his icy and contemptuous gaze at the shop assistant who was standing there like a statue while the hands on her both sides were busy clutching the fibre of her skirt.

If one looked carefully, one could notice her figure trembling slightly.

Director Zhang was speechless with what he was notified and knew that this time either it would be the shop assistant going into trouble or him.

Exhaling deeply, he went to Jiang Ying Yue, "Young Madam Lin, there seems to be some problem with her records. Even after searching the whole employee's list and their documents, it was only hers that we couldn't find. Only basic information of her is available, not bona fides."

Jiang Ying Yue who was sitting there calmly while reading a magazine smiled hearing this. She closed the magazine and stood up after placing it on the table with a light thud.

She slowly started making her way towards the shop assistant till she stood in front of her.

There was no change in her facial expression but her aura had seemed to grow intimidating.

Cheers to her good genes, Jiang Ying Yue always had a good height and even though she was wearing flat boots right now, she was still taller than the shop assistant who was wearing heels.

At this moment, the shop assistant was feeling the fear crawling in her whole body and the sudden sense of inferiority hitting her hard!

With her standing taller than her, the shop assistant was feeling an immense dominating aura from her.

Again! It was again the same feeling of being nothing in front of her!

And the way there was not even a single change in Jiang Ying Yue's expression from the start was in complete contrast with how the shop assistant's facial expression was.

"Say, Miss Shop Assistant, what measures shall I take against you now that we couldn't even find your records?" Jiang Ying Yue asked calmly with nothing but a gentle smile on her face.

Even though she was smiling gently, but to the shop assistant, it appeared as if she was smiling mockingly at her.

"Or is it that I shall take actions against Director Zhang for not keeping records properly under his control?" She asked while turning to look at Director Zhang. The sudden change in her tone took the shop assistant off-guard.

Even the shop manager was shocked and went clueless.

Huh? Where is this going??

The disappearance of the legal documents of the employees was not a small matter. These were the records based on which one got employed, so not being able to find them on the main database was already a huge problem.

Director Zhang was trepidatious now. He was aware that this would get him in trouble as he was the only person who had the access to the employee's records. He couldn't even give excuses for this.

But how could it be that only her record was not there?

It meant only two things: either someone had deliberately erased her record or her record was never entered, to begin with.

Jiang Ying Yue's turn of the question had put everybody in a state of bewilderment. It was not that she had not thought about those possibilities, she already had. Even had already gotten an answer.

Thinking that Jiang Ying Yue herself was not sure, taking this chance, the shop assistant decided to try to put the blame as much as she could on Director Zhang.

Since things had already come to this point, as long as she tried hard to hide the man behind her she would be fine in the end. She could just pretend that records not being there were not her fault but Director Zhang's.

This time she spoke in a nice but pitiful tone, "Young Madam Lin, I might be a supercilious person as I have already appeared to be, but I have never fallen to the low extent of using some inaccurate means to get a job here."

As if afraid what she said was too little, "If you are still doubtful about how I got a job here, you can consult the person in charge of the interviews to see whether I have completed the procedures or not as they also maintain the records, Young Madam Lin."

She only asked her to check with the interviewer because that was the only way she could come out clean.

Losing a job because of her behaviour was nothing in front of getting into a legal battle with Lin Corporation.

Moreover, she was the only one aware of this inside information that interviewing department had always kept only documental records.

It meant that they would have the written proof of her being through the procedures but would not have any other way to prove it. And then the inexistence of her records in the main database could not be considered her fault.

The bona fide records of all the employees were stored in the main employee's database which only Director Zhang had access to so it would be him only who will be considered suspicious.

Hearing her affirmative tone, the shop manager got doubtful whether what she had been thinking all along was really wrong. Or was this shop assistant so stupid to still go on with her act?

"Moreover, now even my records could not be found. I feel someone deliberately is trying to set me up." She appeared to be already on the verge of crying.

Looking at the crying face of the shop assistant, Jiang Ying Yue lightly laughed, "And why would someone be trying to frame you?"

"Because of my behaviour probably. This shop manager had already plotted lots of schemes to kick me from my job. Who knows she and Director Zhang had joined hands?" she sneered while still crying.

The shop manager's face was speaking nothing but just anger. She was going to say something but was cut off by Jiang Ying Yue.

She could only hold in her anger by clenching her teeth. Director Zhang was no different.

Jiang Ying Yue contemplated seriously for a few minutes before turning to Director Zhang, "Director Zhang if records had only vanished from your database then you might have to give an explanation to Old Madam Lin as you already know that the missing legalised records mean that someone is deliberately trying to erase something. And you being the only one to have access, appears to be the prime suspect."

Saying this she signalled something to Qin Zihao who immediately understood the order and went to the side before calling someone.

Because he was standing quite far from everyone, no one was able to hear anything.

Jiang Ying Yue again went back to the shop assistant and smirked, "What you said right now made some logic. If things are really wrong on Director Zhang's side, we might have to take action against him. But if we get to know that you have been the one playing tricks with us all along, it would be worse for you."

The shop assistant was more confident now that she had counted all the possibilities. The records had always been stored in the interviewing department and the main database only.

The interviewing department had her proof records that would be able to prove that she had given her documents. But these were never given further to Old Madam Lin's secretary to check the authentication and were directly entered into the main database before the copying of the annual employees list and their account numbers which were sent to the bank.

All of this had occurred when Director Zhang had gone out of the city at the end of last year. Her entered fabricated bona fides were then erased before he had returned because every year during the start of the new term, the records go through a second-time authentication process which was personally led by Director Zhang.

So even though she was not currently in the main database's records, she was still in other prooving records. Even if they were to recover her records, they could only recover her basic data, not entire information.

The only reason she had been still betting on this assumption was because she knew that Old Madam Lin had never kept the authentic records with her and had directly sent them back to interviewing department. So she had all the shreds of evidence to prove she was clear in this matter.

The only problem had always been the authentication process for her, she had several criminal records. If her criminal records came out, that would be her last straw!
