Disguise abilities

"Are you alright?"

Lilith felt Rain grap her arms lightly.

"Yes" she replied quickly. "I am very fine".

"Oh okay" Rain nodded. She turned back her attention to the grand sensei's words once again.

It was time already. The time had come for them to get mutated. They were all very excited to find out what their abilities would be except for Lilith. She already knew what her powers would be and what to use them for and also, Rain wasn't swept away in the all round excitement, as she too already knew the risk she was going to bear. She felt Florate hold her hand tightly and kissed her forehead. This act of his made her smile at least.

"It is time. In a straight line, in alphabetical order of your last names, match into the lab and lie on the bed space allocated to you by the lab attendants". The grand sensei spoke finally before turning to make his way back to his seat and then he as if an important thought came to his head, he turned back to the crowd of aspirants and spoke again.

"Aspiring ranger Rain Flake". He called to the crowd and Rain answered from where she sat.

"I am right here Grand sensei" she stood up immediately.

"Good". He stepped down from where he stood to address the crowd and made his steps to meet her.

"Grand sensei?" another sensei called him as he saw him leaving to meet Rain.

"What is it?" he turned to him with a frown, not so happy that he retracted his steps.

"This really isn't the time to meet with the aspiring rangers grand sensei" he spoke with concern.

"And why is that?" he furrowed.

"Well grand sensei... It is time for their mutation and you have already ordered that all the aspirants move to the lab immediately".

"And so?" he fired back at him. "I want to speak to this aspirant now and I must do so".

"Please understand my point grand sensei. You know how cautious we are of time and her last name is..."

The grand sensei did not wait for him to finish what he was saying before cutting him off abruptly.

"I don't care what her last name is sensei Otis and I would be most grateful if step out of my way and continue with the process which I am sure can go on with or without Rain Flake".

Sensei Otis stepped aside with a deep sigh, allowing the grand sensei make his way to Rain who hand her fingers intertwined with Florate's but immediately let go when the sensei drew closer.

Her heart was thumping fast. She was scared that maybe the grand sensei had found out that she had lied with his name to enter the lab the other day. She really wished her thoughts would've false right now because she did not know which excuse to give for her actions and Lilith whom she would have turned to for ideas had already made her way to the lab as her last name began with the first letter of the alphabet, 'A'. She should have joined her immediately but the grand sensei had called her and there were other letters before hers.

As he drew closer, she knew there was no where to head from here now. She must face the consequence of her actions alone and not even her beloved Florate could save her now.

"Come with me Rain Flake" he simply said immediately he got to where she stood beside Florate.

"Of course grand sensei" she looked up at Florate with very sad eyes which made him hold her hand again, not wanting to let go as he made to come with her but the grand sensei noticed this and spoke again.

"Just you Rain. Aspiring ranger Henshaw?" he called to Florate.

"Yes grand sensei" he answered sadly.

"Do well to join the line immediately to avoid any form of punishment in your name" he spoke with dread in his voice which Florate would not dare disobey.

"Of course grand sensei" he nodded and hugged Rain tightly before finally leaving.

"Good. Now you come with me".

*The lab*

"Your name?"

"Lilith Amnell"

"OK... Come with me".

Lilith follow the young lab attendant closely to her allocated bed space. At this point, she had just one prayer point in mind... 'daddy please give me the strength to bear this power'. She knew no one to call unto for help right now apart from her late father. Actually, that was the least he could do for her right now as she has never asked him for anything, nor has she received anything from him. This was her first time asking him for anything and as a good father her mother made her believe he was, he should grant her this wish now and save her life.

She made herself comfortable on the bed and the cuffs were locked in for very obvious reasons. The abilities they were going to gain now were unpredictable so safety measures were always taken. Afterwards, they monitored her breathing and made sure she was stable and put her to sleep with another shot before finally giving her the shot as with the same syringe number written in her file. Once they were done, they moved her to another room to gain consciousness as they did to all other aspirants, while waiting to find out what their new abilities would be...

" Grand sensei please forgive me I know I did wrong for you to have brought me here"

Rain fell on her knees immediately she and the grand sensei got to his office. She knew very well there must have been something wrong for him to have brought her here and the only thing she could think of now was her lie with his name few days ago. With her face still on the flood, she wondered what her punishment might be and how she would be able to bear it. She already had alot to bear like her mutation but was not sure again if that would be feasible today as the grand sensei had refused to speak since they entered his office. She wondered what he might be thinking right now. Maybe the right way to make her pay for her lying tongue or maybe another crime totally that she knew nothing of but just had something on her.

"Rain Flake" the grand sensei called her calmly this time, making her nerves calm a bit and she raised her face to meet his.

"Yes grand sensei?" her voice did not shake but the fear was heard in them still.

"So you are the beautiful soul destined for destruction..."

"What?" Rain did not get his last sentence. "I don't understand grand sensei" she spoke meekly.

"You don't have to young Trivenian" he breathed. "Just know that you have the prince of Gorgor to thank for your life. Else, you would have been on your way to destruction by now".

"What are you saying grand sensei? The prince of Gorgor? What are you trying to say grand sensei? Please I do not understand?" Rain kept asking questions, as she did not understand a single word in all he said. But the grand sensei did not reply her, all he did was snap his fingers and she felt dizzy immediately and embraced darkness.

" Did you just kill her?" Prince Andreas appeared in the grand sensei's office immediately with a shock stapled on his face immediately he saw Rain lying lifeless on the floor.

" This young Trivenian asks alot of questions. I only helped her shut her mouth" he answered nonchallantly.

"Take off the disguise already" Prince Andreas spoke to him, as he made his way to where Rain lay. "I would prefer to see the face of my friend other than that Trivenian's".

"So I see you love my face now" he let his disguise fall and reveal his true self. Thygas. He was lord Varnaak's son and a very good friend to prince Andreas since childhood. He ran his hand through his blonde short hair as he placed his legs on the table, feeling very relaxed than he should be.

"Are you being serious right now Thygas?" Prince Andreas looked at him irritated.

"What? I am doing my best to feel comfortable here". He gave an excuse immediately for his act.

"You know what, you should return to Gorgor immediately before your father realizes that you came with me. I don't want any of them know that you help me save Rain". He spoke with seriousness but Thygas did not look serious at all.

"Yes. My disguise abilities did. Oh you don't know what it feels like to be anyone and everyone" he exhaled with excitement bubbling in him. "You still owe me Andreas. And I am not giving you a discount at all" he stood from where he sat and got ready to go.

"Of course" Andreas nodded. "And please take Rain with you".

"What? The Trivenian?"

"Yes Thygas. If we leave her here, she will still be mutated when she is found and that means we did nothing to thwart the plan. Take her with you, hide her properly, after we are sure they have no hope of her return and have found another unfortunate person to take the shot, we will return her".

"Why should I take her?" Thygas questioned. "What are you going to do?"

"I am going to look around and make sure things are in order here" he answered simply

"Are you sure? Or you just want to take one more look at that Trivenian of yours" he smirked at him, but Andreas ignored him.

"You head home with her" he pointed at Rain. "I will join you soon".

"No worries" he carry Rain in bridal style, and immediately, he was out of sight.

"Now just to steal one more glance at you Lilith" Andreas spoke to himself with the thought of Lilith's face the only thing on his mind now.

He was going to take one more look at her face before finally leaving. As he made to leave the office, he suddenly heard a loud outblow like a loud explosion and just immediately, the real grand sensei walked into the office, followed by a scientist. They wore worried faces and he wondered what the cause might be.

"What do you mean you don't know how it happened scientist? How can one of my aspiring rangers turn out to be a light mutant out of the blue?"

'What?! The light mutant!' ...
