Betrayal

"He has been my imaginary friend since I was five, prince Andreas".

"Prince Andreas?" he furrowed. "Who is that? And why do have an imaginary friend why did you not inform Rain and I about this friend, how did you even meet him?"

"I am sorry I kept him from you both, I just couldn't let you guys know because he could only be seen by me, with the help of my imagination. He revealed himself to me when I was five years old and since then, we have been so close and inseparable" she sobbed.

"Since you were five? Thirteen years ago?" He looked stunned.

"Yes Florate. Can you still remember the time sensei Helia showed us our dominant emotions when we were still in level two?" she asked him, drying her tears a bit with her palm and sniffing.

"Yes?" he nodded with his brows raised as though he was thinking and answering the question at the same time.

"He was the reason why my dominant emotion then was love. I love him so much Florate. I really do" she burst in tears. She kept crying, sniffing and hitting her head on his chest in agony and he did not bulge at all. He just kept mute like he was totally lost or something.

"We have been in love for such a long time Florate. Why would he leave me in such a way. I love him regardless of the fact that we were totally different from each other. We put our differences aside and gave our hearts to each other. Why then did he just leave, only because we can't be together. I want him back Florate" she held his gi tight. "I want him back at all costs. What ever it might take, I will do it. I just love him so much and want to remain with him".

Florate looked for ways to calm her down at least but it wasn't working at all. He tried cuddling her but her cries were persistent and now confusing him the more.

He was still very baffled that Lilith kept her relationship hidden from him and Rain, not minding how close they were. He was also very upset at who ever it was because he left her. He may not know what really happened but seeing Lilith in this condition really wasn't speaking well of him at all and he literally saw this imaginary friend as some one not worth her care. However, he was very sure that if she had told Him and Rain about him, they would have never let this happen and allow her be in this condition. He wondered why she kept his existence a secret from them and who he really was that made him imaginary to her.

"It is alright Lilith" he cupped her face. "Stop crying already" he dried her tears with his palm. He, notwithstanding, was still not happy with the fact that she kept the so called prince Andreas a secret for such a long time but seeing her like this wasn't helping matters at all. He had to calm her down if he wanted her to tell him more about 'her love',because she was definitely not going to say anything reasonable if she remained like this.

He tucked her loose hair behind her ears and wiped her face properly before finally speaking. "Now calm down and tell me who he really is" he told her, still cupping her face and staring into her purple eyes.

"He..." she sniffed. "He is prince Andreas of Gorgor".

"Prince Andreas of Gorgor?" he looked puzzled. "Which Gorgor?"

"I know this might sound crazy but I am talking of the same Gorgor that our past rangers sent to the abyss many years ago" she sounded really serious now. He let go of her and drew back a bit.

"You are unbelievable Lilith. Gorgor? Seriously? That world only exist in story books now" he said sensibly while he gave her a weird look like she was going crazy or something.

"I am being very serious Florate. Prince Andreas is real! I am not making this up. He came to my room one night when I was five and we became friends then. But now, we are more than friends. We are more like soul mates now but we just can't be together". A tear flowed down her left cheek.

"And why is that?" Florate was beginning to get emotional. He knew very well that Lilith was good at many things but lying wasn't one of them. She would rather not say than lie so what she was saying now was absolutely true but hard to believe, even for him.

" Well because since his world Gorgor has been in the dark, all her children including him turned dark and can never remain with light unless light is restored to Gorgor" her shoulders trembled and she forced herself to hold back from bursting in tears again.

Florate tried to catch up with everything she said but it just wasn't comprehensible. "What do you mean by restoring light back to a lost world. Does that even make sense? Besides, he is only made real by your imaginations just let him go Lilith. He is just not the one for you".

"How can you even say that" she looked at him with so much irritation. "I love him Florate and he loves me too and the only thing I require from you now is your support and not you deciding if he is the one for me or not" she broke into tears again, this time hitting his thigh out of frustration.

Florate felt hurt. It wasn't his intention to hurt her feelings, he was only being reasonable but Lilith didn't seem to care right now. She must really love this prince Andreas and would sacrifice anything just to be with him.

"I am sorry Lilith" he pulled her into a forced hug, stopping her from hitting him the more. "I am really very sorry for what I said. I should not have. You love him and he loves you too so you both deserve to be happy and I promise to help you in whatever way I can, because I love you and want the best for you " he pulled away from the hug and dried her tears for the second time, wiping her face properly and cupping her face before speaking again. "Get enough rest, I will return to check up on you later I have to go see Rain".

"Thank you so much Florate" she pecked his cheeks "I am really happy to have someone like you"

"It's OK Lilith. We love each other and look out for each other, that's not a big deal" he stood from the bed. "I will see you later and please don't cry anymore ok?"

She nodded. "See you later" she smiled sweetly at him and he returned the smile as well before turning to leave.

Immediately he turned to the door, he saw someone there, peeking through the glass part of the door at the top but the movement was fast that the person just disappeared as soon as he or she was seen and the next thing they heard was a loud thud of someone falling to the floor, followed by a loud wail of pain.

The voice sounded very familiar to both Florate and Lilith as they exchanged glances. They gave it a quick thought, and immediately realized who it was, 'Rain'.

"Rain!" they both exclaimed. He rushed outside immediately while she jumped from her bed almost at the same time too. He swung the door open to find Rain lying on the floor there. She fell from her wheelchair there and the pain was just too unbearable.

"Rain?!"

"Minutes ago"

"Of course " he kissed her forehead before attempting to leave but she stopped him halfway by just saying his name again.

"Florate?" he turned to meet her again with his brows raised.

"Could you help me tell Lilith to come see me? I really want to see her" she pouted her lips.

"I will" he smiled slightly, not knowing what else to add to calm her a bit. "Lilith would soon be here, she just had some things to take care of first with the sensei. But I will tell her to come as soon as possible".

"OK" she nodded.

Rain watched his back as he took his gentle steps out of the room. She looked at him with so much affection as she recalled the minutes they had together earlier and a blush stained her face. She knew very well he loved her and she felt very lucky to be his girlfriend.

"Whew" she sighed. She adjusted the pillow under her head to feel better as she tried to get some rest at least. She stayed like that for quite some time before she heard a soft knock on her door.

"Come in" her voice was soft and dragged but the person behind the door heard it though.

The door creaked and someone very unexpected came in.

"Nexine?" Rain's nerves became tensed. "What do you want?" she asked him with all the strength she could muster to make her voice sound harsh.

"I just came to see how you were doing Rain" he came closer and made himself comfortable on the chair beside her bed. "How are you?" he asked with concern.

"Very fine, thank you" she said bluntly. "Now if you would please excuse me, I would like to get some rest" she said, obviously asking him to leave.

"Really Rain? I mean I only came here to keep you company since Florate is with Lilith at the moment". Now this got her attention.

"What do you mean by that? Florate is not with Lilith, he went to see the junior girl he brought here because she had an injury and needed help so he offered it. Just go away Nexine. I am definitely not in the mood for your lies" she hissed and turned away.

"He said that?" he spoke again, this time with a sting of pity in his voice. "Oh poor Rain. That was a lie. Florate and Lilith are in this same clinic, making out in one of the rooms". Now this got her attention big time.

"What did you just say?"

"I said Lilith and Florate are together right now and with what I can see right now, he doesn't want you to know about it, now what does that tell you" he smiled mischievously, leaving poor Rain in deep thoughts.

"They are in room 34, down the hallway. Give it a quick thought and head there immediately if you don't want to miss the show" he stood from where he sat and quietly left the room with a wide grin stapled on his face.

Rain fell into the ocean of thoughts. Was she really going to believe this untrustworthy fellow or was she going to confirm things for herself. No she wasn't. She trusted Florate and believed he would never do such a thing. But Nexine certainly has no reason to make this up. No, she had to find out things for herself.

Without wasting more time, she came out of the sheets stood up immediately. She felt so much pain immediately she stood up and believed she couldn't walk with such heavy pain. She looked around her for other options and found the wheelchair the nurse had left with her earlier incase if she had any use for it, well now she did. She struggled in pain to bring herself close to the wheel chair and made herself comfortable on it before finally leaving the room.

She moved herself around by turning the wheels of the chair as she made her way to the so called room and found it at last. She looked at the door for some time before drawing closer to open it but then she heard something very unexpected.

"... because I love you and want the best for you..."

Was that Florate's voice she just heard? Why would he be confessing love to the junior girl or was it Lilith? She was totally confused. She tried to stand up again, she wanted to see who it was that Florate was speaking to before drawing into conclusions.

She endured the pain and stood up to peek from the glass part of the door which she could only get to see if she stood up. She looked inside to meet the most heartbreaking sight ever. Florate was wiping Lilith's face and cupped her face, looking at her affectionately.

'Oh no! Was this really true? Was Florate really cheating on her with Lilith? Was Nexine really right?' these questions flooded her head and she felt really hurt but what really got to her was when she saw Lilith kiss Florate's cheeks. 'How dare she?' So they were never friends, they both played her for a fool. Tears began to fall down her cheeks as looked at them and got a bit carried away that she didn't know when Florate stood to leave but she tried to avoid him from seeing her as she swiftly tried to sit on the wheel chair but it slipped away and she fell to the floor, causing her to wail in pain.

Not only physical pain but also emotional pain too. She was really hurt now and was only sure of one thing, Florate and Lilith never cared about her...
