Eternity.

It's what it felt like to Ethan as he ran across the long jagged path looming over the dark abyss. At first glance, the path seemed less than a mile long, but oddly enough, its length kept on getting longer and longer with no end in sight.

And that wasn't the only thing he noticed.

He was having trouble breathing, gasping like an unfit runner who just ran a marathon for the first time. Each step he took felt like there was a weight strapped to his back that progressively got heavier and heavier.

'...Ugh.What exactly was going on here?' Ethan complained as he started to slow down. He didn't know how much longer he could keep this up.

Soon, however, his body couldn't take it anymore and he promptly fell to the ground with a loud thud. He was struggling to stay conscious as his breathing became even more ragged. It was as if someone had their hands wrapped around his neck trying their damnest to choke the life out of him out.

"Fuck..." Ethan weakly cursed. "...I'm not getting nowhere at this rate." He could barely even remember the last time he was this exhausted. As he tried to catch his breath, his eyes started to dart around to see if there was anything out of the ordinary or something that could help him out in this situation.

Perhaps if he still talked to Tydris then he could help, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

Several minutes passed, and he confirmed what he was already thinking. There was absolutely nothing around that could get him out of this situation.

He didn't even know if he could leave if he actually wanted to leave Raven to her fate.

Did he come in here for nothing?

Could he only lay here and do nothing for the woman that depended on him?

Truly?...

Regret quickly started to creep into his heart like a fog in the early morning as he hadn't felt this useless for a very...very long time.

'Don't...Don't think about it...' Ethan tried to steer his mind away from the memory he wished to forget, but something was pulling him towards it.

He started to remember...

He remembered a time where he felt like the luckiest person in the world because he was graced with the best parents he could ever ask for. They had their moments, but the majority of the time spent with them was simply bliss.

Unfortunately, someone was jealous of what he had and took it all away in a flash to see him suffer. Ethan learned the news of his parent's accident fairly quickly, and he wasted no time rushing to the hospital.

Once there, he saw his once-vibrant parents in hospital beds hooked up to machinery that he didn't understand, but the noise they made set him on edge. The doctors assured him that they would recover as their state was stable...but then.

After Ethan breathed a sigh of relief, all of sudden his ears were ringing with the most obnoxious beeping noise known to man. Several doctors and nurses rushed into the room, pushing him to the side before he even had the chance to feel the warmth of their hands.

At first, he was silent, hoping and even praying to God to not let his parents perish as they were his only family. Ethan even tried to calm himself by believing in the doctors to pull through and plus his parents were fighters.

They wouldn't leave their son behind...right?

He didn't quite understand what was going on, but within minutes he noticed their situation was becoming dire.

Why were they trying to leave him?

He'll never see them smile or laugh.

He'll never get to listen to his father's corny jokes or his gripes with football nor will he ever get to eat his mom's food or listen to her nag for just about anything.

Things took a turn for the worse, and he remembered screaming and cursing at the medical staff to let him be by their side. Somehow he managed to make himself believe that if he was closer to them then they would get better. Illogical, he knew, but the rage and sense of loss were building within him, making even simple thoughts impossible.

Why did he feel rage?... Why was he so emotional and irrational that day?

It took four male nurses to pin him on the ground and even then, he was still kicking and screaming.

People were amazed at the strength of someone so small, but then all that strength came crashing down when one of the doctors said, "They're gone."

'Stop...why am I having flashbacks. Raven...she needs me. I can't let her down...'Ethan scowled while digging his fingers into the ground.

He had to be doing something wrong, but what exactly could it be?

It could be anything as he was dealing with Raven's mind, a place that not even she wants to be if she could help it.

Unfortunately, she is forever stuck with it and cursed with a helicopter dad several times worse than the parent who enrolled in their child's college to keep an eye on them.

Trigon was a demon of the worst kind, killing everyone around him, including his own mother when he was only one year old.

The demon only lives to bring chaos and destruction wherever he goes, forcing whoever stands in his way to bow or perish under his hand. Honestly, despite all the strength Ethan possessed, he still didn't feel strong enough to face Trigon. Compared to the people like him, he was still just a tiny speck, barely noticeable to the naked eye.

Ethan dealt with Trigon once, but that was only a small part of him.

And in here?

He's been connected to Raven's mind for a long time, constantly trying to turn her to his side so that he could be free once again.

Potentially, Ethan could end up losing his life here and his current situation wasn't doing anyone any favors.

Could he really help Raven at this point?

Could he even help anyone?...

All of this power and still he was such a...

"SHUT UP," Ethan roared as he harshly smacked the side of his face, leaving a mark.

"...It doesn't matter how strong Trigon is. It doesn't matter who I'm stacked up against!!" Ethan said, forcing himself to stand up on his feet. "Raven is MY woman and I won't let anyone take her from me! I won't let anyone or anything take them from ME!!"

*RUMBLE* The ground underneath him started to tremble, shaking back and forth violently like one was in the middle of a severe earthquake.

He didn't know why, but it felt like something was breaking free within him, filling his body with strength.

Did he just have a breakthrough with cultivation?

Did being in Raven's mind trigger something,

Regardless of the fact, Ethan came into this place for a reason and he wasn't going to leave until he accomplished it. He then glanced downward, peering over into the dark abyss until he came up with a plan.

He jumped off.

>>>>*Raven's mind, ?:?? A.M*<<<<

Things weren't going so well for Raven.

The day started like any other normal with a few hours of gaming and then straight into mediation to keep herself at peace. If she slips for even a moment then she is viable to lose herself to her demonic side which would eventually lead to her freeing Trigon from imprisonment.

During her mediation, she felt something was extremely wrong. Someone was trying to invade her mind, someone so strong that she was forced to overexert herself.

What felt like hours was mere seconds and those seconds were all Trigon needed to wreak havoc.

Raven always isolate herself to mediate which meant that no one was around to help her when she needed it. However, Raven wasn't someone who would easily fold especially when she has someone she loved with all of her heart.

In a last-ditch effort, Raven focused hard enough to teleport to Ethan's side. Soon after, she was unable to control what she was doing and before she knew it, she kneeling in her familiar mindscape.

However, something was wrong, extremely wrong. She could feel her mind slowly coming apart piece by piece. It was only a matter of time before she completely loses herself, becoming what she hated the most.

"Am I really so hated?" A familiar voice sounded out, drawing Raven to six red eyes that floated above her head.

She was all too aware of those eyes as they happened to belong to her tormentor, her father.

His eyes looked down at her with arrogance, viewing her not as his daughter nor an even enemy, but as a pawn that is destined to be used by him.

Raven didn't answer his initial question prompting him to continue talking.

"Oh, Raven...why must you fight this? You've been running so long from the inevitable." Trigon said along with a chuckle.

"You ask that question as if you don't know." Raven scowled. "If I didn't know any better I'd wonder if I was even related to you."

"You dare mock me? I am your master and your creator! You would be nothing without me! NOTHING!!" Trigon growled as the space around them started to tremble. Soon after, a massive shadow started to form around his eyes until it formed his gigantic body and all its glory.

His body may not have been physically in Raven's mind, but he's able to execute more of his power due to the outside interference.

"You should be grateful that I even let you live! And here you are, bound to that insignificant insect!" A strange red aura started to surround Trigon's body as he grew angry. Although his power and knowledge are vast, he did not understand the origins of the man that swept his daughter off her feet.

That alone infuriated him.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the only thing as the man was able to absorb his energy, cutting off all connections to it.

'How dare he stand in my way!! After I'm free, he will be the first to die!!' Trigon thought while conjuring an enormous throne made of rock to sit on.

Raven did not say a single word, she only looked at him with the animosity reserved for the worse of the worst. She cared not that this demon was the reason she exists, she only cared that this demon was put to rest...permanently.

Raven could fill the rage boiling within her, proof that her demon half was taking over and Trigon was fully aware.

"It's only a matter of time daughter." Trigon grinned as he pointed at her. "You will be the key to free me from my prison. And soon the Earth will fall to ruin as to ANYONE else in this dimension! ALL WIll BOW TO ME!! TRIGON!"

"You...you don't know me..." Raven slowly started to stand up albeit slowly. "You don't get to decide what I am...and I'll never let you have your way."

It wasn't a secret that Raven feared her father as she constantly heard about him and his deads when she grew up. Her relationship with him was made clear from the beginning and she hated every second of it.

Trigon ruined her life before she was even able to first open her eyes. "Azarath Metrion Zintho-"
